A picture is worth a thousand words......

Congressman John Conyers is the elected representative to congress from Detroit Michigan. When he was first elected, way back in 1965, Detroit was a shining jewel of a city of the North.

Then the riots came, then the exodus began, then the rot set in, but every two years, 23 times, during the last forty-eight years, the good voters of Detroit sent Mr Conyers back to Washington to represent them and come to their assistance.

Shucks, his worst performance was in 2010 (the big turnover year) when he only got 77% of the vote from his faithful constituents. He has run for mayor a couple of times, but brought up the rear so just continued to sit in that congressional seat.

He has suffered staff complaints, ethics investigations, even the scandal of his city council member wife getting her hand caught in the cookie jar and pleading out for 'just' 3 years in the hoosegow.

Still his constituents send him back term after term. Look at these three pictures; the top one is a current picture of one of the finer old estates in Detroit.

{By all means, click on the picture and take a close look of Mr Conyers' beneficence!}

The second picture down is what the one of their beautiful city libraries look like today.

And that third ugly scene is of the interior of a former dentist's office on the 18th floor of a Detroit Medical Arts building.

You can Google Mr Conyers, you can Google before and after pictures of Detroit... but what you can't Google is: Why in tarnation do those folks keep sending him back to Congress thinking he will represent their best interests for the last forty-eight years?

And what does that say about the American voters?
