Memorial Day Weekend Stories ......

Three totally disparate but timely stories have appeared this Memorial Day Weekend.  Each unique - each telling... and each worth a minute (at least) of our time...

The first regards a video that has been around for some time purpoting to show the return of the remains of a soldier and his K-9..... when in fact -- they were the remains of two Korean War KIA soldiers.... Go here for the story and the video of the event......

The second story relates the story of a youngster from Gowanda NY, who enlisted in the Army as soon as he graduated from High School and was killed when the Japanese invaded Luzon in 1942.  Some how, for the last 70 years his service and death were ignored and never posted on the Gowanda town Memorial.  That error has been recently corrected..  Here is that story.

And finally, on a much lighter note -- but reminiscent of Rudyard Kiplings famous poem "TOMMY", during Fleet Week this Memorial Day Weekend in New York City, a lady naval officer was denied entrance to a 'plush' lounge atop the Standard Hotel (although her friends were admitted) because ------- she was was dressed in her Navy White Uniform, instead of a Versace dress or something... The hotel is falling all over itself on this one.......

I hope y'all had an enjoyable and memorable Memorial Weekend!
