We've got it 'Bass-ackwards'!!

I don't intend this to be a political rant against Barry O'Bama.

But I think about this country's woes, and our citizen's complaints and how we managed to slide into our current state of affairs. Then I think about my military experience and leadership training.

We were taught to delegate responsibility (and authority) because one person can't oversee and direct every effort. So Generals delegate to Colonels who delegate to Captains who delegate to senior NCO's who delegate to corporals. And the job get's done. In warfare or in peacetime.

Please note that that delegation process was downward.....

Now I turn my thoughts to our country and to the evolution of delegation over the last sixty years since FDR. Somehow the process of delegation has been reversed. From We The People up the line to the current resident of the Oval Office at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue in the District of Columbia.

- Parents have turned their children's education, nutrition and work ethics over to the schools, unmonitored by the parents.

- Schools have turned their curricula, scheduling, even their choice of vending machines over to the government in exchange for a laissez faire attitude toward teacher's unions, money and favors.

-Local gob'mints have turned their responsibilities and independence over to state gob'mints for tax dollars and favors.

-State gob'mints have turned their responsibilities and independence over to the federal gob'mint and it's millions of bureaucrats and agencies, closed their eyes to the abuses of the Tenth Amendment in exchange for federal grants, subsidies, and hand outs.... oh yes - and favors.

-The Congress has turned over it's legislative responsibility to the POTUS and his czars and agencies to allow themselves three day work weeks, and more time for fund raising to get re-elected and, oh yes - for the favor of those lunches in the White House, trips on Air Force One and other favors.

All of this delegation of authority and responsibility is..............UPWARD!

The POTUS, for two hundred years, an elected chief executive for four year increments - has now become 'Queen for a Day'.... a King in all but garb, with total authority delegated to him to issue Executive Orders, hire unvetted Czars, ignore Congress, ignore laws as he chooses and which he took an oath to execute, and live a pampered life never dreamed of in the wildest dreams of the greatest potentates in history.

Granted, the American POTUS is elected for only four years at a time, not for life..... at least not just yet.....!
