Obamanation's TOTUS spoke from the Oval Office. Tuesday, Aug 31st

.... to mark the end of combat (he says) in Iraq. In his speech he used the following curious phrase:

"This afternoon, I spoke to former President George W. Bush. It’s well known that he and I disagreed about the war from its outset. Yet no one can doubt President Bush’s support for our troops, or his love of country and commitment to our security. As I’ve said, there were patriots who supported this war, and patriots who opposed it. And all of us are united in appreciation for our servicemen and women, and our hopes for Iraqis’ future."

I got to thinking about that phrase - "and patriots that opposed it." and wondered who these 'patriots' were.

Was it his own self? When he said he had "clear and unequivocal opposition" to the troop surge? When he said we're... "just air-raiding villages and killing civilians"?

Maybe he meant the late. great congressman Murtha who accused Marines of being "cold blooded killers" who "murdered innocent civilians"?

Or fellow Illinois Senator Turban Durbin who compared American interrogators to "Nazis, Soviets in their gulags,.....Pol Pot or others..."?

Perhaps he meant Senator Kerry who accused American soldiers of "going into the homes of Iraqis in the dead of night, terrorizing kids and children, you know, women."?

Was he thinking of Teddy (the Swimmer) Kennedy who on the Senate floor said."Shamefully, we now learn that Saddam's torture chambers reopened under new management -- US management." ?

Finally maybe he was thinking of Senator Reid's comments calling 'W' a "liar" a "loser" and "this war is lost". Not to mention the cute turn of phrase voiced by CA Rep Pete Stark, accusing Bush of desiring to send more American boys "to Iraq to get their heads blown off for the president's amusement.?

I sure wish the TOTUS had gone into a little more detail so we could give full credit to those 'Patriots' that opposed the war. It might tell us a lot about how BO's thinking process works and where his priorities are.

To be fair and honest, folks, I lifted a lot of these quotes from a great column by Paul Kengor in today's "Americanthinker.com" issue. You can click here to read his item and many other timely articles.

It's nice to have all the lunatic comments from brain dead lib politicians all put together for easy access. Thanks. Their patriotism is just overwhelming.
