A quiet and useless victory.....

Very quietly in July 2007, an amendment the immigration reform bill was introduced in the US Senate which would have codified English as the official language of the United States. The Amendment passed... however as you all know and for which you should be thankful, the immigration bill failed. What is interesting is the voting records of the 100 Senators as they voted, Thirty-three United States Senators voted AGAINST the 'English as the Official Language' Amendment. Wanna guess how those Democrats running for President of these here United States voted?

In the '60's, the book "Profiles in Courage" was the book of the Month. In July of this year..... I reckon "Profiles in Diving for Votes" would be in vogue.

The following senators voted against making English the official language of the United States of America:

Akaka (D-HI), Bayh (D-IN)

Biden (D-DE) Wants to be President??? Why ??

Bingaman (D-NM), Boxer (D-CA), Cantwell (D-WA)

Clinton (D-NY) Wants to be President??? Why ??

Dayton (D-MN)

Dodd (D-CT) Wants to be President ??? Why ??

Domenici (R-NM) Just a RINO, protecting his Senate seat., Durbin (D-IL), Feingold (D-WI) , Feinstein (D-CA), Harkin (D-IA), Inouye (D-HI), Jeffords (I-VT), Kennedy (D-MA) You might have already guessed this one, Kerry (D-MA) Wanted to be President - Thank God he lost!, Kohl (D-WI), Lautenberg (D-NJ), Leahy (D-VT), Levin (D-MI), Lieberman (I-CT) Disappointment here..., Menendez (D-NJ), Mikulski (D-MD), Murray (D-WA),

Obama (D-IL) Wants to be President ??? Why??

Reed (D-RI), Reid (D-NV) Senate Majority Leader - Leader for who?, Salazar (D-CO), Sarbanes (D-MD), Schumer (D-NY), Stabenow (D-M)

A final note... another amendment that died when the Immigration Bill died, was the so called "DREAM" act! And this ain't no dream folks, it's a nightmare. Senator (Turban) Durbin (you know him, he's the one that calls our troops the Nazi's of this century) is re-introducing this pig with lipstick as amendment to a different bill this month.. that's another story I'll share later!
