The Times, They Are A Changin'

... And it ain't necessarily for the better! Case in point: For two hundred years, there was an unwritten rule that domestic politics stop at the water's edge. Unfortunately, that ethic has ended with ex-presidents Carter and Clinton. Both of whom have made a cottage industry out of traveling around the world bashing both the sitting President and U.S policies in general. It's truly a sad sight to behold. I guess you can the cracker out of the feuding South, but can't take the feuding South out of the Cracker!

Ole' Pecozbill has heard it said that the New York Times front page is an integral part of the daily intelligence briefing for Osama and his staff each morning. War plans, surges, withdrawal plans, new weaponry... read it there first. Bless the old Gray Lady's heart.. used to be "All the News That's Fit to Print" -- now it's "Any news, whether it will hurt our troops and country or not"!

Finally, the exchange of letters between wannabe Hillary and Vice President Cheney seems to lowering the ethics bar even further. In an attempt to separate herself even further from her vote to go to war in Iraq, she has repeatedly asked Cheney for "the Pentagon's plan for withdrawing from Iraq". He of course has refused, opining that if such a plan existed, making it public would only bring aid and comfort to our enemies and cause demonstrable morale problems for our troops on the ground. She is now in the process of elevating the level of this pathetic discourse. Again, the word unfortunately fits this space.

If not so serious, this transparent exercise in sucking up to the far left wing of the Democrat party would be merely disconcerting. However - it is much more serious than that!
