Thank You in Any Language

feels just as great! I had an old retired Air Force veteran friend e-mail me today and the subject of his e-mail was "Not in Sixty Years!" It seems that yesterday he was standing irritably in a long check out line in a department store when a tall young man tapped him on the shoulder. Whipping around thinking somebody was trying to edge ahead, he looked at the young man and before he could say anything (fortunately), the young man said: "I noticed the Bronze Star and rank insignia on your Air Force Veteran's cap, and just wanted to say 'Thank you for serving our Country when you did, Sir!"

Well, my grizzled old friend was so taken aback, he was at a loss for words for the first time in many years. We have come to see and appreciate the general appreciative attitude Americans have for our warriors in this little dust up in the Middle East, but are tickled to see that perhaps it is rubbing off on some of our veterans of those earlier set-to's. It may have been missing then, but that just makes it all the sweeter now.

Did you know that the words "Thank You" can be spoken in 465 different languages? Link to this site and see if you don't recognise a few.... surprise someone someday!

GrizzleChief says: I'm gonna turn that appreciation wavelength up a couple of notches and pass it on a dozen-fold! Starting with PecozBill - Thank you for YOUR service!
