Just a 'speeding' thought.....

Lets see now -- hiring new policemen, training them and putting them on the street to protect citizens costs money..... yes?

On the other hand, letting a private company install cameras at red lights and speed cameras in built up zones, issue computer generated tickets and pay the host city off the top (and keep the rest)  represents municipal revenue income.... yes?

So, Pilgrims, would any of you be surprised to know that the new (self avowed) socialist mayor of New York has said No to hiring more cops and yes to 140 new speed cameras?

Naw, neither was I.

BTW, I wonder when some Federal judge is gonna look at these privately owned cameras and say that only licensed Law Enforcement Agencies can issue tickets (summons)  - not private companies?
