Wondering out loud....

Just sitting here early this Tuesday morning wondering:

How many good Americans read their morning papers today and when they read that the current 'inflation rate' is a gentlemanly "1%"......... believed it?  And din't question why energy (read gasoline) and food (read groceries) are no longer figured in the equation? Or realize that the real inflation rate is closer to 9%?

I reckon our Hopey/Changy gob'mint reckons our economy is rated by used bricks or something.

Then I wondered how many good Americans read the close out employment figures for this great country for the month of April 2014 and observed that it was an optimistic "6.3%"..... and believed it? And din't question why millions of still unemployed who have dropped out, underemployed who are flipping burgers, and part time employed who can't get real jobs........ are not counted. And that the true figure is in the ugly neighborhood of 23% not 6.3%.

These Orwellian Newspeak figures are not only misleading, they are downright -- dishonest, crooked, and in the words of my Grand Dad --- "Pure Dee Prime Bullshit"!

Brian Joondeph in American Thinker,  suggests that we resurrect the Misery Index that was so loudly examined during the years of the last failed POTUS, one each James Earl Carter...    I can't disagree.

We have Truth in Lending Laws, Truth in Advertising Laws --- why not a Truth in Political Bullshit law?
