Smile!!!! You are on candid Camera!

Remember the days when Allan Funt's weekly program started with those words? And then folks who didn't realize they were being video taped -- were?

It was all in good fun, and to be honest there's been a few times when I felt like maybe I was being set up --- like when I am trying to find the opening end of those clear plastic bags in the vegetable aisle of the grocery store -- sometimes I'm sure it's a gag!!

But on a more serious side, now that everybody has camera phones, or other not noticeable cameras -- we are all likely to show up on YouTube in some embarrassing video. The police apparently, aren't as open minded as the rest of us.... How many video tapes have you seen on TV reality shows of folks stopped for drunk driving or speeding?

But when the shoe is on the other foot, and the citizen is videotaping the police officer -- all of a sudden the rules change. I wouldn't be so concerned about this trend - except for what it portends in this day of over reaching gob'mint intrusions in our life.
