First Amendment - Religion and Expression. Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
Trust me partners, I ain't no religious zealot! I'm best described as almost agnostic back sliding Methodist -- which is riding at the back of the posse! But when I read articles like I read first thing this morning..... my hackles just get to burning.
Seems like in some one creek town in Georgia, the football coach and a dozen of his team members got theyselves 'Baptized'.... No big deal -- their bid'ness right?
Wrong -- Big headlines today "MASS baptism lands Georgia high school football team in hot water" Whoops!
Seems like some tight butted Yankees Against Religion group way up in Wisconsin took umbrage and want an investigation and punishment meted out on these evil doers.
Look back up there at that First Amendment -- do you see the words 'Freedom FROM religion' in there anywhere?
Nope? Neither do I, but the Freedom From Religion Foundation of Wisconsin don't let a little thang like that bother them.. any more than Obamanation lets that same piece of paper bother him....... Here is a link to the article, but keep in mind - the last phrase in that First Amendment regarding religion sez "Gob'mint shall make no laws prohibiting the free exercise of religion!~~~
I know this ain't the first - nor will it be the last Salem Witch trial in this country over Christians -- but Hot Damn..... it's gotta stop somewhere. I note that many of the schools in New Iran Michigan, have rooms and times set up for the muslims to git down and pray -- women to the back of the room please or leave --- women out of the pool please or leave --- women cover your faces or leave......dr
I rest my case `~~~~~
