Crossing continents to be offended....

It is apparently no longer sufficient to stay home, mind your own bid'ness and get along with your neighbors.  In this 21st Century, we have become such a world of victims that now folks go plumb out of their way to be offended.

Latest case in point, just in case you think your kindly old host would exaggerate, is the case of a British automobile auto show on their Telly, called Top Gear. They speak with humor (and tongue in cheek on regular occasions) and fans find them entertaining....... or don't watch.

In a recent episode, "The crux of the issue is the use of the word "slope" on the recent Burma special. Hosts Richard Hammond and Jeremy Clarkson were inspecting the majesty of the bridge they sort-of helped build that was not actually over the river Kwai, while a local construction worker walked across it"

You have to click on the link to see the picture of the sloping bridge and pedestrian 'slope'.....

In any event, apparently some India-born British actress named Somi Guha (aka Somi de Souza)  hired a lawyer to sue the BBC and the program for mouthing such a pejorative. She would like a million pounds sterling for her suffering apparently.

In their weak apology, Top Gear blamed Americans for finding fault...   and it warn't us - USA.

Ah well, thank God and our Forefathers for our 1st Amendment..  They don't enjoy that privilege in Great Britain or Canada --- much to the delight of the Islam Protection  Brotherhood Racketeers who sue or press charges for any slight, accidental or intentional.

I'm not even gonna ask the obvious.... whatever happened to 'Sticks and Stones' in our modern world?
