What's in a word???

I was reading the comments of some of those who passed by to view one of Glenn McCoy's editorial cartoons. I thought the cartoon was on the mark (see to the left) because it pointed out the bias of the press, the predicament of the public and the answer to the question; "Where do all these favorable polls about Obamanation come from?" all in one cartoon.

But then as I read the comments I came across one that said simply: "Obama is ineffable."

Several following commenters had choice words aimed at he who wrote that.

For me, 'ineffable' had always meant indescribable, as in indescribably beautiful, or incapable of being expressed, beyond words. Using Obama and ineffable in the same sentence seemed like the oxymoron of all oxymorons...

Fortunately, with the world at my fingertips, I surfed 'ineffable' and found 'unspeakable', as in ineffable disgust. And then, 'insufferable', 'ineffectual' and 'indefinable'.

Then I relaxed.... and smiled.
