| Byron Nelson, was the perfect gentleman in a gentleman's game.
On the last hole yesterday, Dickey Pride, who has only won once on the tour in his twenty year career, and that was back in '94 (18 years ago), sank a 22 foot putt for a par and a tie with young Jason Dufner who was playing one hole behind.
With Dufner coming up behind him on the fairway, instead of running off to the putting green, Dickey Pride stood there, applauded when Dufner walked up to the green needing a birdie to win or a par to go into a playoff tied at -10 with Pride.
When Dufner sank his birdie putt from about 25 feet, Dickey applauded the putt as much as anybody present.
""Jason didn't take anything from me. He won the golf tournament. He won it by playing his game," Pride said"
A gentleman's game........ Rest in Peace, Byron Nelson ... your legacy persists!
