By itself, it is both meaningless - and when displayed around the walls - could mean anything you want it to mean... Then I went to good ole' Wikipedia for some help. Bless their hearts - they were right on target once again.
In my innocent little Democratic-Republic world in an American capitalist society where everyman and woman can dream big -- I had no idea of the history of the word "Forward" in the socialist diaries of the world. Here's what Wiki says:
Forward (generic name of socialist publications)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The name Forward carries a special meaning in socialist political terminology. It has been frequently used as a name for socialist, communist and other leftwing newspapers and publications. For example, Vpered (Russian language for 'Forward') was the name of the publication that Lenin started after having resigned from the Iskra editorial board in 1905 after a clash with Georgi Plekhanov and the Mensheviks.[1]
