The Olive Garden Chain must be French owned, not Italian.....

For the last couple of days, everybody in America has been reading the story that the Olive Garden Restaurant in Oxford AL refused to let a little old lady (80 y/o) display the American Flag at a Kiwanis banquet in their restaurant.

Their refusal was based on the fact that flags & banners might interfere with other's dining pleasure or something like that. And..... I suppose if Kiwanis had wanted to display the Swastika or even the CSA Battle Flag ... there might have been support for that position.

But!!! To ban the American Flag in Oxford Alabama, in a public restaurant because it might 'interfere with a customer's dining experience'? That's a little lame.

Bottom line - the story went viral! Every blog, every e-zine, even the evening news bannered it and bantered it as well.

Now, faster than the speed of light -- Olive Garden Headquarters has seen that light and extended a public apology and explanation for the "local team's misunderstanding of the policy".

Under the bus with you = local team!! Another lesson learned from Obamanation, toss 'em under the bus quick!

Now about the headline to this post - In WWII, even the Italians held out for a couple of weeks before capitulating.... the French however - that's another story!

By the way, several ex-Veteran social/chat sites I belong to have already scratched Olive Gardens off the 'go to' list. They are a very unforgiving lot!
