Is it no small thing? This Florida fight over 'dwarf-tossing"?

After drawing national attention back in the 80's for the 'dwarf-tossing' contests in Florida bars, the Florida State Legislature rose to the occasion and passed FS 561.665 which bans the activity by anybody who sells alcohol on the premises.

Now, State Rep Ritch Workman, has filed HB 4063 to repeal the law. He says he doesn't condone the dwarf tossing but he thinks the prohibition takes away freedoms and is against the American way.

"To me it's an archaic kind of Big Brother law that says, 'We don't like that activity,' " Workman said. "Well, there is nothing immoral or illegal about that activity. All we really did by passing that law was take away some employment from some little people."

So, the question for debate is: "Should Nanny State Gob'mint dictate the activities and employment possibilities of it's 'little people' purely because they can?"
