One more reminder...........

.........why every American should jealously guard and protect our uniquely American Bill of Rights occurred this week in Europe.

Apparently German Chancellor Angela Merkel had the temerity to comment that she was 'glad' the US had located and killed Usama Bin Laden. UBL had, after all, been responsible for several deadly terrorist acts in Germany over the last decade.

But in the absence of a First Amendment like ours, her statement is a No-No in Germany. So, a Hamburg judge has filed a criminal complaint against her for "endorsing a crime"

In his two-page document, Uthmann, a judge for 21 years, cites section 140 of the German Criminal Code, which forbids the "rewarding and approving" of crimes. In this case, MerkelUthmann claimed. The violation is punishable by up to three years' imprisonment or a fine.

Now Pilgrims, I'm not naive enough to think that Chancellor Merkle is going to do hard time for her sins. She has lawyers, after all... but stop and think of just how stifling this kind of law would be here in the USA.

And it goes on all over the world. Speaking ill of an ethic group in the United Kingdom is a 'hate crime'. Even in Canada, people are threatened with prison time for even hinting that muslims
might be responsible for a variety of evils in their admitted jihads around the world.

So my reminder for the day -- when ever you see any one of our Bill of Rights being threatened, whether Free Speech, Freedom of Assembly, the right to own an firearm, Freedom from unlawful searches.................... stand up and be counted!

Don't let any person or group get their foot in the door to take away these RIGHTS!

And don't for a minute think that some folks in high positions in this country aren't spending every waking moment concentrating on plans to encroach on these RIGHTS! It's happening every day in our local, state and federal legislatures, as well as our courts!
