I read this morning on the Internet that as of yesterday --- 151 Banks have gone belly up in this country just this year. Yes - one hundred and fifty-one banks have failed....
Is our gob'mint concerned? You betcha!
Just this week the Federal Bank Examiners inspected a bank in the small town of Perkins, OK, and although they found it to be well managed and sound --- they found it in non-compliance. It seems they have Christmas decorations up.............. oh my!! Specifically,
"And the team from Kansas City deemed a Bible verse of the day, crosses on the teller’s counter and buttons that say "Merry Christmas, God With Us." were inappropriate. The Bible verse of the day on the bank's Internet site also had to be taken down.
Specifically, the feds believed, the symbols violated the discouragement clause of Regulation B of the bank regulations. According to the clause, "...the use of words, symbols, models and other forms of communication ... express, imply or suggest a discriminatory preference or policy of exclusion."
The feds interpret that to mean, for example, a Jew or Muslin or atheist may be offended and believe they may be discriminated against at this bank. It is an appearance of discrimination."
Needless to say, bank customers, good citizens of Perkins OK, are outraged --- as should we all be!!
Meanwhile, I note elsewhere, that although TSA is frisking Grandmas, and grabbing little kids in their 'no no' areas --- folks are going through the security system with guns, make believe bombs and more..... I'll bet nobody sneaks onto a plane with a Santa pin on their lapel though!!
