...the way the Feds have been spending money by the trillion$ of dollars these last two years...... but a that figure still has a lot of zeros after it: $4.600,000,000 to be exact.
This is the amount of 'Other Peoples Money" (read TAXPAYERS) that the Senate has just approved to settle class action lawsuits brought by ambulance chasers on behalf of black farmers allegedly discriminated against by the USDA..... hmm, don't I recall a recent employee of that department who was just fired and whose husband is gonna get a big chuck of that alleged money. Up to $250,000 per black farmer in the class (plus debt relief of course).
$3,400,000,000 more American tax dollars will be given to some native American indian decendents of folks who were 'cheated out of land royalties dating to 1887. They also claim tat royalties for grazing rights and minieral extraction was mismanaged. That works out to about $11,000 per Indian in this class suit.
Oooops, the news story doesn't say how much the lawyers are gonna take off the top of all these tax dollars for their expenses and efforts... Maybe they took the cases pro bono...... nah I don't think so.
With this precedent - it would seem like a hundred million American Citizens ought to be able to form a class and sue the gob'mint for misappropriating and mismanaging the Social Security deposits since the '30s. And how about those millions of auto drivers that have been paying federal taxes on every gallon that was 'earmarked' for highway construction and maintenance>
Well, shucks, if we won, I guess we would be re-living Pogo's concept - "We have met the enemy - and he is us!"
Who'd pay for our win? Aye - there's the rub...........
Now, Pilgrims, let me leave you with this scary thought --- for years now, certain single interest money grubbing groups have been pushing for 'reparation damages' (read billions of our tax dollars) for the evil of slavery 200 years ago. With these law suits settled up above, can't you just see the salivating lips of those greedy folks purporting to represent the 20,000,000 Americans who are at least 1/16th part the decedent of a slave.
As Elmer Fudd used to say, "Be afwaid, be vewy afwaid!"
