Jimmah Carter has got to be smokin' something strange and weird!
In an interview the other day with Chris 'Motormouth' Mathews, Carter opined that if Teddy (the Swimmer) Kennedy hadn't fought him for the nomination, and if Anderson hadn't run as a 3rd Party Candidate.......... well then, he'da whupped ole' Ronald Reagan's butt in the general election back in 1980.
Say What???
Let's see now - Reagan's landslide over Carter was 489 Electoral Votes to 49!! If you gave all of Anderson's votes (popular or their potential electoral votes) to Carter..... ALL OF 'EM...... Carter still loses by more than 100 electoral votes.... Bless his heart -- I hope Amy still talks to him on occasion, cause he obviously needs a friend...... Thirty years of rationalizing his own failure as president....
