In the little town of Blandford Forum, in Dorset, England, a couple of Vicars seem to be having a contest this year to see which of them can be the most "Politically Correct'!
One has banned the singing of "O Little Town of Bethlehem" during Christmas services. Apparently he has visited the area, found it devastated by the Israeli-Arab conflicts and thinks the Christmas Carol no longer represents the area.... particularly phrases like '...how still we see thee lie'
Meanwhile, at another church in the small town, their Vicar has banned Santa Claus from any Christmas services --(and threw one parishioner out who was dressed as Santa and handing out candy) pointing out that Santa Claus is strictly a materialistic apparition that has nothing to do with the birth of Christ.
Sure must be an interesting town to be in this Christmas season..... at least the townfolks will have plenty to talk about at their Christmas parties.....
For a glance at the many hits if you are interested, Google: "Blandford Forum, Vicar" and take your choice......
