Group wants Wi-Fi banned from public buildings
Arthur Firstenberg says he is highly sensitive to certain types of electric fields, including wireless Internet and cell phones.
"I get chest pain and it doesn't go away right away," he said.
Firstenberg and dozens of other electro-sensitive people in Santa Fe claim that putting up Wi-Fi in public places is a violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act.
The city attorney is now checking to see if putting up Wi-Fi could be considered discrimination.
But City Councilor Ron Trujillo says the areas are already saturated with wireless Internet.
"It's not 1692, it's 2008. Santa Fe needs to embrace this technology, it's not going away," Trujillo said.
The city attorney hopes to have a legal recommendation by the end of the month.

This would be a whole lot easier to laugh off except for the weird ways the Courts having been reacting to crazies and self proclaimed victims groups lately..
Just Thursday of this week, a Federal District Court in D.C. ruled that the American currency (green backs) discriminates against blind folks 'cause it's all the same size. They issued orders to the Mint and the Gob'mint to crank up a whole new kinda paper money for us, (the U.S.) because of this law suit brought by some small crank group with too many lawyers on their staff.
Even the National Association for the Visually Impaired opined that blind folks been getting along with the current money for 230 years and no change is needed. And as one blind government work in Albany NY said: "Discrimination is when you aren't allowed access to something, we are allowed to use paper money --- where's the discrimination'!
Despite all that, the court ruled 2-1 for the plaintiffs.... This country is getting victim obsessed! But I'll save that topic for another day.....
