Here's a special report.....

...for you folks that think Ole' Pecoz just leans on Left Coast Flakes and Dem' Dims! Right here in Texas, District 22, we have a Republican ditz who is creme de la creme of ditzes!! From Red State:

TX-22 Sekula-Gibbs Channels John Kerry On Taxpayer Funded Illegal Worker Day Labor Sites

By haystack

There's nothing in Texas law that prevents crazy people from running for public office. But really now-are voters expected to actually elect someone as crazy as Shelley Sekula-Gibbs and allow her to DO anything to worsen the problems we Texans face every day...like the illegal immigrant problem we already HAVE in Houston? Either she thinks we're crazy down here in Texas...or she assumes we're too stupid to know any better. Whichever it is, she's bad news...and she's got to go.

Remember John Kerry's famous "I was for it . . .before I was against it" line? Shelley certainly does-in fact, the crazy lady from TX-22 fancies it well enough to have used it herself in a debate with Pete Olson the other day, hosted by the Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce.

"When people wanted day labor sites when there was urinating going on and destruction of private property (by laborers without a government-funded gathering place), I supported that. When it was made clear it was a failed experiment, I voted against it."

Really now, folks, day labor sites are one of many bad ideas that sound good on paper but only serve to further facilitate illegal activity.
Day labor sites I see in the Austin area are no different-there is plenty of "urinating going on and destruction of private property (by laborers without a government-funded gathering place)" and the local Government keeps taking OUR money to fund them. This is a slap in the face to anyone who believes in "enforcement first" in the fight against illegal immigration.

For you unfortunate non-Texans that don't understand our wonderful world of politics, let me point out that Ms Sekula-Gibbs won a special election for House District 22 seat (vacated by Tom Delay) on November 7, '08. On that same day, she LOST the regular bi-annual election for the same seat! So she served a total of seven weeks, Nov 7th '06 until Jan 3, '07 when the new Congress convened.

She is now running again for the same seat she lost two years ago. If this makes sense to you, maybe you ought to immigrate to Texas and help us out! While you're at it, why not move into District 22 territory and help return this twit to her second husband and career.
