What few of us knew is that he served as an Army officer in WWII, a CIA agent for three years in the early '50's and authored more than fifty books and manuals in his career. Above all things - he liked people ...... ALL people--!
I noted in George Will's column this week that Buckley's favorite expression (not his own) was: "Only one man in a thousand is a bore, he is interesting because he is one person in a thousand." What a concept to live by.....
