When the new liberal gov'nor of New Yawk State just declared that New York State drivers licenses will be issued to ILLEGAL ALIENS without regard to their status -- Ole Pecoz got to wonderin', just how common is this sanctuary foolishness nowadays? Just in case that you doubting Thomas's think Ole' Pecoz would try to pull that wool sombrero over your eyes - I'm gonna do a cut and paste of a report prepared by the Congressional Research Service (CRS) for Congress August '06. Selected Issues
In addition to the legal complexities that may arise with respect to utilizing state
and local law enforcement to enforce immigration law, several additional issues have
been noted.
Sanctuary States and Cities
According to proponents, the movement to provide coverage for unauthorized
aliens stems from the belief that the enforcement of immigration law is the
responsibility of federal authorities, and that state resources should not be used for
this purpose. Some view these policies to be at odds with §642 of IIRIRA, which
permits the sharing of information between agencies and requires state and local
agencies to share information with INS and prohibits

Okay - you folks ready for the big question? The big example up there is New York, NY, who we have all heard whine 'cause they don't get a bigger piece of the pie! After you've cogitated on the answer, why don't you act on your feelings and pick up that phone or put those magic e-mail fingers to work?

WHY SHOULD THE U.S. GOVERNMENT SEND ONE DAMN CENT OF OUR HOMELAND SECURITY TAX DOLLARS TO ANY ONE OF THESE LOCAL GOVERNMENTS THAT INVITE ILLEGAL LAW BREAKERS AND THE ALIEN TERRORISTS AMONG THEM TO "COME AND SIT A SPELL"?
