Artist Mows Purple Heart into New York Field

A Purple Heart medal is shown mowed into a lawn in Thomas Bull Memorial Park on Sunday in Hamptonburgh, N.Y. The replica medal, created by Roger Baker, occupies an area of 850,000 square feet and measures more than 1,000 feet long. (Daniel Morel/AP Photo)

This Sunday is the Seventy-Fifth Anniversary of the creation and award of this medal to American Servicemen and women wounded in battle. What a grand use of a great skill in design, layout and execution.
