More adventures 'through the looking glass'!!

First, let's agree on Merriam-Webster's definitions:

Atheist: one who believes that there is no deity

Chaplain:
1: a clergyman in charge of a chapel
2: a clergyman officially attached to a branch of the military, to an institution, or to a family or court
3: a person chosen to conduct religious exercises

And now for our Hump Day topic ---  It appears that the DOD is stumping and recruiting to find learned atheists to serve as military chaplains in the Air Force, Navy & Army.

Why is this cat grinning?
Yes, Alice in Wonderland has returned... in spades.  the Military Association of Atheists and Freethinkers (MAAF), and the 'Military Atheists and Secular Humanists (MASH)  {no - not Hawkeye Pierce's MASH -- they had a real chaplain, remember Father Mulcahy?} want commissioned officer chaplains, just like those religious guys have.

Their non-believing chaplains would have access to base chapels, meeting rooms and all the other benefits therein.

I wonder if I went back into the Air Force for a second career, I could form a group for back-sliding Methodists, otherwise known as folks who just move their lips and don't sing out loud in church.. hmmm?

I wonder how a 'lack of faith' group would conduct 'faith services' -- ?

It gets curiouser and curiouser......
