I am neither a chauvinist, nor a misogynist ..... but breaking news today really tightens my jib.
Apparently, (under whose orders we don't know) the military leaders in Washington today will announce the expanded slots and roll of women in combat in the front lines.
The AP reports that the plans allow women to start training as Army Rangers by 2015 and as Navy SEALS the next year!!!
Yep, that's what I said - as Rangers and SEALS.....
Naturally the caveat has been added: The military services have mapped out a schedule that will also include
reviewing and possibly changing the physical and mental standards that
men and women will have to meet in order to qualify for certain
infantry, armor, commando and other front-line positions across the
Army, Navy, Air Force and Marines.
So, the SEALS, for example - who recruit and accept only the brightest and most physically fit.... and yet still have a 90% drop out rate in their training courses --- will now be required to invite the distaff corps to participate...
Why do I feel that the number of males volunteering and aspiring to be SEALS and Rangers will diminish? In the current atmosphere of drawing down the forces to a meaner, leaner, more mobile force .... who the hell is behind the curtain on this bit of insanity.
Okay, let's take 135 pound GI Jane, put a fifty pound pack on her, plus her weapons, and then ask her to carry a wounded, 195 pound GI Joe to safety 300 yards away...... or 200 feet down the side of a sheer cliff.
The insanity never ends -- and with political hacks like Panetta, Hagel, being led by a community organizer running the show... I don't guess it's gonna.
Why does he hate this country so??
