The hits just keep on coming --- "I vant to see your face!"

For more than a century, Americans have fought off every attempt to required federal ID, as in National ID Papers.   This concern peaked with FDR's Social Security program identifying everybody with a number....... a number which, by the way, he promised would never be used for identification purposes. Concern about the Nazi's favorite line, 'I vant to see your papers.' resounded across the land and out of Hollywood.

Tell that to every GI since the 50's, who were stripped of their military serial numbers and required to use their Social Security Numbers for ID Cards and all things military. Tell that to the millions of Americans who have to provide their Social Security numbers for banks, loans, employment, and even driver's licenses....

I know you have all heard of the 'Gang of Eight's' 800 page immigration proposal....   but I'll bet you haven't heard about the innocent sounding 'photo tool' requirement written in to that document and as recently reported in Wired.com.

"Buried in the more than 800 pages of the bipartisan legislation (.pdf)  is language mandating the creation of the innocuously-named “photo tool,” a massive federal database administered by the Department of Homeland Security and containing names, ages, Social Security numbers and photographs of everyone in the country with a driver’s license or other state-issued photo ID.
Employers would be obliged to look up every new hire in the database to verify that they match their photo.

This piece of the Border Security, Economic Opportunity, and Immigration Modernization Act is aimed at curbing employment of undocumented immigrants. But privacy advocates fear the inevitable mission creep, ending with the proof of self being required at polling places, to rent a house, buy a gun, open a bank account, acquire credit, board a plane or even attend a sporting event or log on the internet. Think of it as a government version of Foursquare, with Big Brother cataloging every check-in."

Now then, when we recall all of the unknown verbiage in the Obamacare Bill which congressmen were told to approve, but not to read.... the 14,000 IRS agents, the increase in medical costs, the decrease in medical benefits.....   It certainly gives us reason to look askance at the small print in this latest committee created monster.  Gives a whole new meaning to 'the Devil is in the Details' doesn't it?

Old George Orwell has been shown to be a SEER every decade since he penned '1084' hasn't he.  Between political correctness, gob'mint NEWSPEAK, hate laws, mislabeled legislation at all levels....

I am reminded of one of my favorite expressions: 'Just because you are paranoid, don't think that they aren't really out to get you!'

Go to Wired.com for this entire article.....  if you dare....
