While I was looking for anything timely and interesting to read that had NOTHING to do with politics this morning, I came across this bit in The American Spectator.
Well written by Chris Orlet, it asks the question, 'Why our opposition to hiring locally?'
I don't know why, but I found it both profound and sad in some way. I guess because among millions of other Americans, during my working career, I have been flown to distant cities - wined, dined and interviewed - hired (or not) and after a half dozen years -- moved on.... the thought of remaining in their city never crossed our minds. Surely those doing the hiring in those distant cities could have found somebody local.
Anyway - for a political head clearing, why not take a moment and read Rootless in America.
