Happy Days Are Here Again.........................

Yessirrreeee Bob!!!

"The numbers for January are in; unemployment dropped to 8.3% -- Obama's job plans are working. In January, the economy added a net 243,000 nonfarm payrolls to the economy.

Aren't those numbers great?

If you consult the report by the BLS, you would also find out that those who quit looking for work aren't counted as part of the total labor force, which also isn't accurately reflecting population growth, which basically allowed the government to yank 1.2 million out of the labor force in January.

You see, its another case of add 243,000 and subtract 1,200,000 to REDUCE the unemployed average.

Interested in more?

The labor force increased from 153.9 million to 154.4 million, (a gain of .5 million); those not counted in the labor force surged from 86.7 million to 87.9 million (a loss of 1.2 million). A smaller labor force keeps the unemployment rate low.

How much of those other numbers have you been told about?

Reminds me of the "Payroll Tax holiday" when most Americans never knew that the money came from THEIR contribution to Social Security. Now guess what happens when it comes time to draw their Social Security?"

Putting it another way, as the Washing Times did:

"A year ago, there were 99 million people either officially unemployed or
otherwise not working, and the official unemployment rate was 9.1
percent. Now, unemployment reported by the government is down to 8.3
percent, but the number without jobs has topped 100 million.

The disconnect between increasing joblessness in America and the rosy White
House official statistics should be the subject of a congressional
investigation. Something does not add up.
