Gang of Eight Bill --- a twenty minute weekend assignment for you....

Late this week Sarah Palin let loose with a blistering cannonade on those Republicans in the Senate that voted for this poorly conceived and nation destroying 'Comprehensive Immigration Reform Bill". Suggesting even, that it may be time to primary out some of the Senators that voted for it and going one step further.....    suggesting that if the House approves it, or one like it -- it may be time for Republican conservatives to re-examine their existing ties with the party and look around!  

Strong words -- 

But, because she has two strikes against her, she is Sarah after all, and a Republican  to boot.

I'd like to introduce you to Betsy McCaughey, a former Lt Gob'nor of New York and a Democrat with a big 'D' after her name...    in 20 short minutes, with post it notes, she performs an autopsy on this 1000 page monstrosity and points out the lies, the deceits, and the building of a national web of government funded, non-accountable enablers...     Trust me, it's worth your twenty minutes, or I wouldn't post it and ask you invest your time.

On my short list of things I do NOT like are (among others) activist judges, and lawyers in general.

But much higher on my Hate list are private company owned Speed & Red Light cameras!!!!  I think they are an abomination on civilized communities and serve only take money out of vehicle owners pockets and put it in the pockets of the camera companies, with a small stipend to the local community of course....

Kind of like those 'fundraisers' that solicit millions of dollars for charities, then keep most of it for expenses and turning over the remainder to the charity - who in turn, keep most of it for expenses and damned little for the target of their charities... be they Vets, cops families, or Brazilian children with hair lips....

But back to the point.... we have a real 'Man bites Dog' occurring in Elmwood, Ohio that will bring a grin to your Friday face!  Activist (and mad) Judge, slicky boy police chief, and indignant lawyer..... not to mention some irate citizens.....

By the way, Elmwood is a small incorporated village of two thousand souls in the middle of Cincinnati. How to hustle yer neighbors.

Who runs this country now ???

I'm not even gonna comment on yesterdays announced decision by the Supreme Court.  If I did, I would probably ask why one man in this country, Justice Anthony Kennedy, the moderate middle man on a court evenly divided between four conservatives and four liberals.... appears to be the most powerful man in the country...

Instead -- I'll re-ask the question in the headline to this post.... 'Who runs this country now?'

For background to that question, I could go back to the Supremes -- but instead, I'll just go to a New York Court of Appeals ruling yesterday:

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — Starbucks baristas must share their tips with shift supervisors, but assistant managers are left out in the cold, New York’s highest court ruled Wednesday.

The article, linked here, goes on to lay out the rules the court as pronounced. Who gets a share of tips left by Starbucks customers and who doesn't.  

My question is ---- Why in heck is a court making this decision and what document gives them the authority?  In my day, a company, large or small, set the rules, put it in a company handbook, and had new employees read and sign it. If they didn't like the rules, they went to work somewhere else.  If they agreed with the rules, they put on an apron and went to work.

What the hell is happening to this country? The Congress has delegated all their authority to the POTUS, the POTUS has assigned all his responsibilities to the career civil servants while he goes on a four year campaign trail and golf tour. 

And unelected Judges across the country become the de facto - arbiters and deciders, of what we will or won't do in our bid'nesses, our schools, our churches, and our bedrooms: Of what our votes mean, what our governments local, state and gob'mint can and cannot do, and conversely what they must do!

Like I said -- what the hell is happening?

For some reason, I fail to find any comfort in Obamation's slide in the political poll ratings. 

While it's true that it may help with next years congressional elections, and it may slow his train wreck driving through the Constitution of our country, the fact remains that the only poll that counts was last November 6th, when 63% of those that showed up at the polls thought he was the man!!

BO has been a Lame Duck since he was sworn in on January 20th of this year.....  he's answerable to nobody! Create as much ruin of this country he obviously hates for the next 40 months and then spend the rest of his life living la dolce vita and letting our tax dollars protect him, carry his bags, and rent him office space...

The only poll that counted is behind us....   not what Rasmussen reports now!

I'm not now, nor have I ever been, an ice hockey fan; professional or amateur!

Having said that, I can answer the question to my own headline ---  

Because God (you remember him? He was pretty popular before Obamanation and Eric Holder banned him from social conversation. Like the 'N' word, the 'G' word must now be whispered among our elites in polite society) Because God saw the Yellow Dog Dems of Massachusetts elect the pasty white, uber liberal, career Washingtonian congressman Markey to the Kerry vacated Senate seat. 

No matter that the guy with the "R" after his name, Gabriel Gomez, a moderate Republican Hispanic with a religion and God approved first name ran a good race... Nope, din't matter, Bostonians (that's easier to pronounce than Massachusettsians) have been trained since birth by the Kennedys to press one lever -- the Blue one....

So, the 37 year resident of the House, will now pack his bags and walk down the hall to the Senate chambers..     There is a fresh face for you..... and such a promotion for his district - from a very senior congressman to the juniorist senator.... whoop de doo..(as Archie Bunker would say)

At least the new senator won't have to move to DC, he's been a resident of Chevy Chase Maryland and paid taxes for his 'principal' residence for years to Montgomery County MD....

Now back to the Hockey teams -- remember them?  I want you to look at these two team logos...

'Nice tax-exempt association you got there .....  be a shame if somebody was to investigate it and take away that tax-exempt status.....'

Only a rumor, mind you!

I'm finally beginning to understand why Obamanation was awarded the Nobel Peach Prize before he sat behind the desk in the Oval Office....

It's because the Swedes were clever enough to realize that this second rate community organizer would probably bring the International Community together as one happy family -- in their abject contempt for him!!

Is that the late Laurence Peter, author of the Peter Principle,  I hear laughing and rolling over in his grave, with his principle substantiated once again?

With all this hyperbole about the Gang of Eight's Comprehensive Immigration Reform Amnesty for 11 million illegals legislation -- with all the hoopla about the IRS stonewalling conservative 501C3's, with many folks waiting for any damned shoe to drop on the Benghazi story -- and with our focus on the hop scotching Edward Snowden and his NSA secrets leaking....  Obamanation may be dealing a new hand of three card monte!

If you read his remarks in Ireland closely, and see the small print in his underwhelming Berlin speech, you note a renewed vigor in his enthusiasm to battle so called Global Warming.  Then if you think back to his 2008 candidate interviews when he boldly announced that he was going to put coal mines out of business and make coal and oil fired electricity plants too expensive to maintain...  you'll have reason to wonder if our collective attention isn't being purposely side tracked to these other headlines just to keep our eye off his Red Queen.  

You put down your money and pick your card!  And then find you have picked the black jack instead of the red queen...   

Don't let the purposeful distractions fool you -- he still owes the far left wing, big time.  You have to watch every move - and you'll probably still lose.  One way or another!!

For the first time, I am proud to say I agree with Hellary Clinton!!

Friday's question for weekend contemplation.....

"How do progressive AlGorebots legitimize 'climate change' now that Global warming has been thoroughly dismissed, flummoxed, and otherwise discredited?"

And one answer is: By introducing legislative amendments in Congress which are based on such falsehoods!   Case in point.....

 Senator Brian Schatz’s (D-HI, of course) filed an amendment for the immigration bill Wednesday that would allow stateless people in the U.S. to seek conditional lawful status if their nations have been made uninhabitable by climate change. 

Noting that climate change is not some “abstract challenge,” but is already displacing people across the world, Schatz explained:

"The amendment I am proposing is quite simple. If enacted, the Secretary of Homeland Security, in consultation with the Secretary of State, may designate individuals or a group of individuals displaced permanently by climate change as stateless persons."

Folks,  according to the left leaning Guardian ( the Brit paper that printed Snowden's leaked secrets), there are 32 million (as in 32,000,000)  displaced people in the world as a result of climate change. 

As I recall the climate on this planet has undergone significant 'climate changes' in the last 100 million years....  I wonder who legislated assistance for the dispossessed when the Ice Age began.... and again.... when it receded..

This Dim dimwit from Hawaii needs to pull out his checkbook, buy groceries and invite all those poor displaced souls over to his house as guests.....  Unfortunately, like most politicians, he just wants to spend OUR tax dollars and invited them to our house....

About the phrase, "Perfumed Princes of the Pentagon".....

That's a phrase I first noted when it flowed from the pen of one of the best military journalists of my lifetime...  Army Colonel David Hackworth (Ret). 'Hack' died in 2005 from a bladder cancer related to exposure to Agent Orange in Vietnam....   If you are unfamiliar with him or his name and reputation - you might oughta Google him and his bio!  Started as a grunt private, and retired as super highly decorated Army colonel.... who had refused the opportunity for higher rank when he became disgruntled with the Pentagon and it's 'perfumed princes'.... 

Now to today's story of a current example of Hack's irreverence.... y'all remember the barely reported story of the 9/14 raid on Camp Bastion in Afghanistan, I am sure:

"...three days after the deadly siege on our consulate in Libya and after months of prior security incidents and warnings. Fifteen jihadists disguised in stolen American combat fatigues penetrated the complex. They used rocket-propelled grenades, assault rifles and other weapons to wipe out nearly an entire squadron of Marine Harrier jets worth an estimated $200 million.

Along with the most devastating loss of U.S. airpower since Vietnam, two heroic U.S. Marines -- Lt. Col. Christopher Raible and Sgt. Bradley Atwell -- were killed in the battle, and nearly a dozen others were injured. Military officials refused to release details of the fateful budget and strategy decisions that led to the attack. But Deborah Hatheway, aunt of Sgt. Atwell and the family's spokesperson, and other Camp Bastion families learned on their own that their loved ones were left vulnerable to attack by military leaders who outsourced watchtower security on the base to soldiers from Tonga."

Details are starting trickle out at last.... and it would appear that much of the blame falls on the shoulders of the commander, Major General  Charles Gurganus, under whose command, base security was either outsourced altogether or seriously reduced.  General Gurganus, you may recall, is the general that ordered Marines to disarm -- because he wanted them "to look just like our (unarmed) Afghan partners." 

The Military is finally (nine months later) reluctantly probing events -- as a result of steady pressure from the KIA marine's families -- (?) -- as it seems like this sterling example of one of Hackworths's Perfumed Prince brigade .... is being considered for promotion!!!!

Now it's off to Africa, where they have chosen to visit three countries that do not have or apparently will not provide sufficient security to protect the Community Organizer and his Queen.  So, we are paying $100 million tax dollars to supplant the missing host protection:

The logistics of any presidential trip are costly. 

But arranging back-to-back visits to three developing countries with poor security infrastructure and limited medical resources could become the most expensive foreign excursions of Mr Obama's time in office. 

Military cargo planes will airlift 56 vehicles including 14 limousines, ambulances equipped for chemical and biological attacks and radio-jamming trucks to Senegal, South Africa and Tanzania.
A US aircraft carrier or amphibious warship with a full medical trauma centre will be anchored just offshore in case of emergencies. 

Three lorries will be used just to carry sheets of bullet-proof glass to be erected at hotels where the Obamas will stay during their trip, between June 26 and July 3. 

Because the visits happen one after another, three separate security, medical and logistics teams will be dispatched, one to each country. At least 445 Secret Service and White House security agents will be involved. 

In Ireland, the obviously Irish Michelle Antoinette announced from the stage after a command performance of RiverDance, "It's good to be home"!

What are the odds that she will voice these same words in Tanzania upon arrival? And while you ponder that difficult questions, you might also ask yourself, 'Why is his BO'ness not visiting Kenya, the home of his late father and current home to many of his relatives during this visit?' 

Y'all have a nice hump day today - and keep those tax dollars flowing to Washington - where every dollar will be carefully spent.!!

Let me make one thing perfectly clear......

Apparently, (under whose orders we don't know) the military leaders in Washington today will announce the expanded slots and roll of women in combat in the front lines. 


The AP reports that the plans allow women to start training as Army Rangers by 2015 and as Navy SEALS the next year!!!

Yep, that's what I said - as Rangers and SEALS.....

Naturally the caveat has been added: The military services have mapped out a schedule that will also include reviewing and possibly changing the physical and mental standards that men and women will have to meet in order to qualify for certain infantry, armor, commando and other front-line positions across the Army, Navy, Air Force and Marines.

So, the SEALS, for example - who recruit and accept only the brightest and most physically fit.... and yet still have a 90% drop out rate in their training courses --- will now be required to invite the distaff corps to participate...   

Why do I feel that the number of males volunteering and aspiring to be SEALS and Rangers will diminish? In the current atmosphere of drawing down the forces to a meaner, leaner, more mobile force ....  who the hell is behind the curtain on this bit of insanity. 

Okay, let's take 135 pound GI Jane, put a fifty pound pack on her, plus her weapons, and then ask her to carry a wounded, 195 pound GI Joe to safety 300 yards away...... or 200 feet down the side of a sheer cliff.

The insanity never ends -- and with political hacks like Panetta, Hagel, being led by a community organizer running the show... I don't guess it's gonna.

and now lapdog for Chuck-You Schumer and the scheming Dims --  who is playing some immigration game understood only by two people -- Marco & Rubio -- took umbrage with Rep. Michael Burgess (R-Tex), a fellow Republican, who got under his skin when:

Referencing a Jay Leno one-liner, Burgess questioned fellow conservatives about the wisdom of giving citizenship to "11 million undocumented Democrats." Laughter, some of it nervous, spread throughout the room. But not everyone found Burgess's crack funny. According to several people who attended the June 5 gathering, Rubio glared at Burgess.
 
This account, confirmed by multiple members and staffers, sheds light on what is perhaps the most politically obvious—and perpetually underplayed—conservative argument against providing citizenship to the nation's illegal immigrants. With all the noise surrounding the debate over policy specifics—security measures, enforcement triggers, future flow, interior oversight—there is still an underlying political argument whispered among some of Congress's most conservative members: After 71 percent of Hispanics voted for President Obama in 2012, why should Republicans add millions more to the voting rolls?

I'm not going to belabor this whole topic, if you haven't read and heard enough about it during the last couple of months, then you are one of Rush Limbaugh's 'under-informed voters', and I don't think any of them stop by this blog!!  

I will add however, that in all my born years, I have never seen so many Dims, from Obamanation on down, offering advice to the Republicans on how to gain votes and win elections...... never!!
 

That PC toilet we live in is flushing faster and faster....

It seems an eighth-grader in Logan, West Virginia, wore a tee shirt to school with an NRA Logo on it. All was cool in morning classes until he went to lunch and the PC Nazi in the cafeteria ordered him to shed his shirt or turn it inside out......

Would a Che Guevara shirt been okay? Or an Obamanation logo shirt?

He appeared before a judge (remember - he is an eighth grader and officially charged. If convicted, this lad could face a $500 fine or a year in prison.  We'll find out on July 11th. 

Keep in mind, this was in conservative West Virginia, not across the border in the People's Republic of Maryland.

The Senate is about to vote on the Gang of Eight Idiot's immigration amnesty program!

But it's worse than you think --- 'cause we ain't talking about just granting amnesty to the the 11 - 20 million illegals already here -- we are talking about their spouses, kids, cuzzins and uncles getting to join them in a chain reaction....   here is how NumbersUSA tells it!

S. 744 -- the Senate Gang of Eight immigration bill -- would offer a minimum of 33 million lifetime work permits IN THE FIRST DECADE alone.
It may at first be hard to believe this number because most of the publicity on S. 744 has treated it as an amnesty bill for approximately 11 million illegal aliens.
But S. 744 is far larger than just an amnesty. Nearly every special interest in Washington has had a hand in ensuring that certain high levels of legal immigration continue and are expanded -- by a lot.
The 33 million would go to:

• 11 million -- The estimated minimum number of foreign citizens in this country who crossed our borders illegally or who violated their visas and did not go home when they promised they would. The bill's amnesty provisions would give these foreign citizens work permits immediately (even before any additional workplace and border enforcement).
• another 11 million -- These would be new legal immigrants brought in a continuation of the current system which is already three times higher than the traditional average of 3 million a decade before 1990.
• 5 million -- These are all the people who have previously applied to enter the country but who have exceeded the limits placed on their categories to protect American workers. Most of them are chain migration relatives of previous immigrants. Many of them are relatives of the millions of illegal aliens who were legalized in the 7 amnesties between 1986 and 2000).
• 6 million -- New immigrants who would come through brand new categories and expanded existing categories.

The 33 million new work visas IN A SINGLE DECADE would be almost half as many as ALL immigrants who have ever entered the U.S. in its history through today (1407-2013)!

These are the totally forgotten people in the immigration debate.
They are our friends, relatives and neighbors who can't find a full-time job to support themselves and their families. The simple fact is that our nation is awash in too many workers seeking too few jobs.
The 1st Quarter reports from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics and the U.S. Census Bureau find that 20 million American citizens who want a full-time job still cannot find one.

Why would the Senate even consider such a bill? The news media have reported that more than 1,700 special-interest lobbyists -- representing major campaign contributors to Senators -- are pushing the bill they helped to write.
What do the special interests want? Many corporate entities want to increase the over-supply of various types of workers to lower the wages for everybody in those occupations in order to increase profits.

Americans will have to decide before June 12 (NOW) whether they will stand silent or whether they will challenge their Senators about a bill that abandons 20 million struggling Americans and puts our entire middle-class-style society at risk.

One way to stop repeat offenders......

In Colquechaca, Bolivia,  young Santos Ramos was identified by police as the rapist/murderer of a 35 yea-old village woman..

Villagers grabbed him, and after her funeral service - tied him up and threw him into the victims grave............. and buried him alive along side her coffin.  

To preclude interference from the local police, some of the villagers blocked the roads into the village.

I'll bet this was a teaching moment for other young men in the surrounding villages as well!

2.  Sarah Palin, at the Faith & Freedom Coalition conference in Washington DC, said: “Until we have a commander-in-chief who knows what he’s doing…let Allah sort it out.”

3. Regarding Obamanations decision after all this time to give the Syrian rebels small arms..... General Douglas MacArthur said 60 years ago: “The history of the failure of war can almost be summed up in two words: too late.

• Too late in realizing the mortal danger.

I read with interest that on the floor of the House yesterday - Representative George Holding of North Carolina pointed out that the $100,000,000 (100 million) of our tax dollars and borrowed Chinese Yuan, being spent on BO's family vacation to Africa would fund 1,350 weeks of White House Tours.....  in case you missed the logistics planning:

Hundreds of U.S. Secret Service agents will be dispatched to secure facilities in Senegal, South Africa and Tanzania. A Navy aircraft carrier or amphibious ship, with a fully staffed medical trauma center, will be stationed offshore in case of an emergency.

Military cargo planes will airlift in 56 support vehicles, including 14 limousines and three trucks loaded with sheets of bullet­proof glass to cover the windows of the hotels where the first family will stay. Fighter jets will fly in shifts, giving 24-hour coverage over the president’s airspace, so they can intervene quickly if an errant plane gets too close.

The grandest emperors of the Roman Empire didn't demand this much security and comfort.... especially on a credit card!! And this doesn't even take in the expense for Himself and Michelle Antoinette, and the girl's little jaunt to Northern Ireland and Germany this coming week........

Today, Gov'nor Rick Perry of Texas signed "Merry Christmas' bill into law....

A damned shame that a law has to be passed - - but great that it was.

  Surrounded by sleigh bell-ringing Santa Claus impersonators, Gov. Rick Perry on Thursday signed a law protecting Christmas and other holiday celebrations in Texas public schools from legal challenges - but also stressed that freedom of religion is not the same thing as freedom from religion.

Dubbed the "Merry Christmas" bill, the bipartisan measure sailed through the state House and Senate to reach Perry's desk.

It removes legal risks of saying "Merry Christmas" in schools while also protecting traditional holiday symbols, such as a menorah or nativity scene, so long as more than one religion and a secular symbol are also reflected.

"I realize it's only June. But it's a good June and the holidays are coming early this year," Perry said. " It's a shame that a bill like this one I'm signing today is even required, but I'm glad that we're standing up for religious freedom in this state. Religious freedom does not mean freedom from religion."

Political Correctness and 'Newspeak' has become so common in our lives that this new example wouldn't be worth mentioning if it wasn't Flag Day, I reckon....

It appears that the National Archives have finally linked the 'Papers of the Founding Fathers' on line. 

In proudly announcing this fact (just like they had anything to do with it) the White House Blog announced it as:

"The Papers of the Founding Founders Are Now On Line"

Subtle - it ain't!!  Can't be giving credit to any fathers, after all.  

Apparently the Tweeters of the world arose and guffawed by the millions... so the WH Blog's title was renamed using the accurate 'Founding Fathers'....  it's URL however, continues to use Founding Fathers ... as in:

Another example of the Law of Unintended Consequences... (better known as Dumb & Dumber)

Our brilliant politicians, led by their Community Organizer, have forced gas prices up at the pump, and spent billions of our tax dollars trying to get us all into electric cars.... 

I'll spare you the numbers and the details -- but it doesn't take a Nobel Prize winning economist to figure out that these efforts would cause two things to happen - the higher price at the pump would cause folks with gasoline powered cars to drive less --- and the increasing numbers of gob'mint subsidized electric and hybrid cars would make a serious dent (pun intended) in the gas pump sales as well.

As Martha Stewart might ask, "Isn't that a good thing?" 

Yes, but for the fact that the fewer gallons sold at the pump, the fewer gasoline tax dollars roll into the revenue coffers of the politicians across the country.  And if there is one constant rule in this country -- all taxes, every tax source must INCREASE every year - not decrease!

What to do? Across the land, politicians are all coming to the same conclusion: Put an added TAX on electric and hybrid cars to make up for the revenue lost at the pumps.

In Washington state, electric-car owners this year began paying a $100 annual fee. Virginia in April approved a $64 annual fee on hybrid and electric cars.

In New Jersey, Senator Jim Whelan, a Democrat from Atlantic City, has proposed a $50 annual fee on electric and compressed natural-gas cars that would be deposited into a state fund for road and bridge maintenance.

In Washington state, electric-car owners this year began paying a $100 annual fee. Virginia in April approved a $64 annual fee on hybrid and electric cars.

Of all the possible answers to the problem, less tax revenue, one might think of gob'mint belt tightening, more efficient state departments of transportation, more efficient methods of road maintenance...   but of course these wild and crazy ideas never cross the mind of an elected politician or gob'mint, unionized public servant...   

Nope, just raise taxes and fees.... I wonder if Gob'nor O'Malley up in the Peoples Republic of Maryland, the inventor of the rain tax, has a brain trust working on this tax drain?

About that pesky 10th Amendment....

Two hundred and twenty-two years ago, 1791 to be exact, the Tenth Amendment to the Constitution was ratified:

"The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people."

I was forcibly reminded of that Amendment again the other day when I read that a Senatorette from Minnesota - Amy Klobuchar, Dem (naturally) from Minnesota wants to make stealing metal a Federal Crime.  She's think in terms of copper and steel used in construction, power cables and such like ....    

I realize that with Obamanation's nation of unemployed folks, such theft is rampant (folks gotta eat, doncha know) but no matter how hard I looked -- nowhere in the Constitution did I see a paragraph or even a hint that the Federal Gob'mint is delegated the power to investigate and prosecute local metal thefts in the various States.... 

Sherlock the Fed?

Think about that now.... how about bicycles, they are made of metal. How far will this go over the years...  Stealing your kid's trike could be a federal offense some day, and Janet Reno's grandson could be in your front yard with a magnifying glass and a Sherlock Holmes cap on....
