I don't know how many of you have seen this recently released parody of the blatant hypocrisy of our overpaid, over-liberal, American Constitution hating Hollywoodies - but it's certainly worth three minutes of your time---

A Sunday morning Homily from Texas.....
Media Quiet About San Antonio Theater Shooting
On Sunday December 17, 2012, 2 days after the Connecticut shooting, a man went to a restaurant in San Antonio to kill his ex-girlfriend. After he shot her, most of the people in the restaurant fled next door to a theater. The gunman followed them and entered the theater so he could shoot more people. He started shooting and people in the theater started running and screaming. It’s like the Aurora, CO theater story plus a restaurant!
Now aren’t you wondering why this isn’t a lead story in the national media along with the school shooting?
There was an off duty county deputy at the theater. SHE pulled out her gun and shot the man 4 times before he had a chance to kill anyone. So since this story makes the point that the best thing to stop a bad person with a gun is a good person with a gun, the media is treating it like it never happened.
Only the local media covered it. The city is giving her a medal next week. Just thought you’d like to know.
Back to my title for this post --- is there anybody who could miss the point of this little homily?

What's in a word???
Thought for the day..... and the new year!
"Any
man who thinks he can be happy and prosperous by letting the Government take
care of him; better take a closer look at the American Indian."

I wish a few folks had that written on their sleeve cuff when they went in to vote last month.........!

Color me weird...
... but I find this recent headline in The Telegraph to be particularly sad.. Especially on Christmas Eve!
"A 'dad' is the tenth most popular Christmas list request for children'
A 'dad' is tenth most popular Christmas list request for children with youngsters happy to forgo the latest iPad, toy or new pet, a survey has found.
"A 'dad' is the tenth most popular Christmas list request for children'
A 'dad' is tenth most popular Christmas list request for children with youngsters happy to forgo the latest iPad, toy or new pet, a survey has found.
When it comes to Christmas, it might be safe to assume children will ask Santa
for an extensive list of toys, games and treats.
But a survey of their typical lists for Father Christmas has shown many have
more serious concerns, requesting "a dad" instead.
As a Grandson, a son, a dad, a granddad, and a great grandad... I find this story particularly sad -- and a sign of the times......
I'll not say more..... go here for the rest of the story....
Merry Christmas to all of you Dads, and especially to all of you without Dads.... every tenth house? Yee Gads.....!

Pssst! Can I add a word to the blather about banning guns?
Like all of you, I tire of the posturing, blathering, and general bullsh*t being screamed from every pundit, talking head, MSM reporter and politician that can find a mike and a camera this week.
I won't address the tragedy in Newtown, any of us who are parents share the pain of those folks, but I will address the hyperbole in very short fashion! Ooops, I already did in that first sentence.
I wonder which of the following is more dangerous to the school children of America --- a home protection weapon maintained by a cautious homeowner or --- this video game -- available on the Internet for sicko's, 24-7?
Kindergarten Killer
After a few hundred plays, an already semi-twisted mind could get completely oblivious to the mayhem, couldn't he? To quote from that first, instruction page:
Game instructions for Kindergarten Killer :
Kindergarten Killer is a fighting game on www.flash-games.net in which you play as a janitor to clear as many stages as you can. At first you can choose your levels with different health numbers. Click on the start button you will see many kids appearing from different places and the kids will come out more and more as you go further into their base. Aim with the mouse and shoot with the left mouse button. Shoot the kids quickly before they shoot you. Your health goes down if you get shot. You will get health bonuses after each level. With the stages you clear, you will meet the big boss, and shoot him at his head to go to the next stage. And you will meet not only kids but also policeman as your enemy. Look out for health boxes like a key with a plus sign on it, if you shoot them they will give you +20 plus,
Have fun......... not...... !!

Is the Nation suffering from a mental breakdown.... or just the US Congress??
Babs (call me Senator) Boxer, Dim of the Left Coast - proposes putting National Guard troops at the entrances of all of our schools. How about an Abrams Tank in every school yard????

(Newser)
–
Would
you feel safer sending your kids to school if the National Guard was
outside? Well, that could be a possibility if Barbara Boxer has her way.
The California senator has introduced a bill that would allow local
governments to use the Guard to enhance school security, Politico
reports. That could mean Guard troops literally standing outside school
entrances, or it could mean putting them to work improving school
infrastructure, or even helping police with desk work, so that more cops
could guard schools.
The bill
is modeled on legislation that allowed states to use the Guard to help
with border security. She said some of the $640 billion spent on
national defense should be used to protect schools—"Is it not part of
the national defense to make sure our children are safe?" Meanwhile,
some states are considering the idea of arming teachers.
Is this the same Boxer who has voted against National Guardsmen protecting our borders from illegals ??

That pot of water is getting warmer, fellow American Frogs!!
This horrendous video needs no introduction but the succinct facts! Two women were stopped by a Texas State Trooper for 'throwing a cigarette out of the vehicle'.... The trooper let things escalate and then called for a backup female trooper -- who stood the suspects (of what?) in front of the patrol car headlights and camera to conduct a full body cavity search, frontal and backside -- with the same glove -- on both suspects.
I'm surprised she didn't finger their mouths as well.... It started with TSA, but where does it end folks --- and what are the good citizens of America going to do and when are they going to speak up?
If you are short of time, jump forward to the 2:30 time....for more on the story, Google: "texas, roadside, cavity search"

I received an e-mail from a friend..... he posed this question:
"While we are all wringing our collective hands and sighing over the loss of the twenty innocents in Connecticut last week, the thought occurred to me ---- During 2011, almost one and a quarter million abortions were performed in the USA."
"I wonder how many of those 1,215,000 innocent babies 'deserved to die'?
After reading his comment, I surfed a little on the Internet and learned that since the finding of Roe vs Wade in '73, fifty million babies have been killed in the womb or while exiting it. That's 50,000,000, Pilgrims!! How many deserved to die?
And we are talking just about killing innocents here, I'm not even gonna mention that the average cost per abortion is $500 ....thus $2,500,000,000.00 of our GDP was spent on this horrific medical procedure during this period...
If any of you heard any of the media talking heads discussing this strange conflict in thinking, please let me know in the comment section.
(Thanks and a Tip O' the Stetson to fellow Vet Paul N of Rhode Island - a neighbor of Connecticut)

I am amazed.... amazed!! That this story was aired even on one network?
First, let's go to the video tape:
Visit NBCNews.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy
So, we have a strict, state law that worked - and kept a deadly weapon out of the hands of an ineligible would-be buyer. The buyer then resorted to stealing guns from his mother's house.
Why haven't we heard this amidst all the fog and handwringing by the loud mouthed left leaning politicians and media outlets?

Just a few words on the Connecticut tragedy....
I have purposely stayed away from this topic this week-end. There are too many points being made by too many folks who are clueless....
All of the usual, expected publicity seeking prostitutes elected to political office have by now, spewed their spittle all over their talking papers --- offering nothing new --- helping nobody....
This morning though, my attention was drawn to the usual suspects from Hollywood. You know, those produce nothing millionaires that feel like they should offer us great unwashed some of their intellectual gems...

Chris Rock: There's no such thing as assault weapons .punching somebody in the face that's an assault. If this guy had assault weapons those kids would still be alive . Lets start calling these weapons what they really are " PEOPLE KILLERS".
Alec Baldwin: A ban on semi-automatic assault weapons is a necessary first step toward resuscitating the soul of this country...
Susan Sarandan: How much more suffering & loss will it take before we better regulate the sale of arms in our country? Let @NRA know how you feel.
and there were many more of these blatherings....
I am waiting for the first one of these rich, spoiled, self anointed brainiacs to stand up and say: "I feel so strongly about gun control that I swear the following oath: 'I will neither own a weapon for personal defense, nor hire any bodyguard or private security official that carries one. Nor will I ever perform or attend a performance at any venue that hires 'rent-a-guns' as well. To this I do swear!"
Whatta think Pilgrims, do you reckon any of them will take such a vow? Nah, neither do I. Like Rotund Rosie -- they talk the talk - but they ain't about to walk the walk!

Reader's comment of the day....
In a Breitbart news item today quoting His Bloomsbergness of New York City and his predictable tirade on needed gun control after yesterdays tragedy in Connecticut, one reader opined:
BUDDYNOEL: "Bloomberg just doesn't want this to become a referendum on mental health because if we actually start treating people, he'd never get re-elected."
Well said Buddy! By the way, I see that Bloomberg's fellow New York Dem lawmaker, the Vegetable Representative (a pumpkin body with a pea brain) Nadler appeared on the show of his intellectual equal - The Ed Schultz Show, and opined: “I think we will be there if the president exploits it, and otherwise we’ll go on to the next incident"

As was once so famously said; "Have these people no shame?" This was a tragedy for an entire town - and these gobs of spit want to exploit it......!!

What a strange world we live in ....
Remember those news reports about the evil Iraqi soldiers killing the babes in their beds in Kuwait? The killers with the towels on their heads destroying the hospital nurseries? ...... and more important -- the young Americans sent by the US gob'mint to save these poor folks from the grasp of the evil Saddam Hussein and his equally evil raping children....
Ah yes...
Now, here we are - in 2012 and:
"KUWAIT PASSES LAW to EXECUTE THOSE WHO SLANDER ISLAM AND THE PROPHET"
Kuwait, where members of parliament just this week approved a law issuing the death penalty for Muslims who curse or slander God, the Quran, all of the prophets, and in particular the Prophet Mohammed and his many wives.
Non-Muslims who engage in these verboten acts may not meet the gallows, but they will be remitted to prison for no less than 10 years, according to the bill.
I hope your child, brother, sister, or parent weren't one of the Americans lost in this battle to protect these poor invaded people.... Matter of fact, I wish that..........

How come it is that the lefties are so 'pro-choice' when it comes to killing babies, and so Non-pro-choice in the work place?
You don't reckon it has anything to do with the union cash registers going ka-ching and the union leaders pay checks, do you? Nah - couldn't be that.......

This would be funny if it wasn't so sick........
Y'all remember the big battle just a couple of years ago to jam Obamacare down the throats of the Nation. The Dims even wheeled their non-walking wounded into the Senate to vote for this bill that nobody had seen yet.
Not a single Republican voted for it -- every single Dim did!!
Now here we are, 18 days before Day One of the start of the downfall of the Republic - and guess what --- 16.... count'em, sixteen Dimmocrat Senators have signed a letter requesting that the Obamacare 'Health Device' tax be postponed because it will cost jobs, money, shove companies out of the country and have no end of evil results...
Sixteen Democratic senators who voted for the Affordable Care Act are asking that one of its fundraising mechanisms, a 2.3 percent tax on medical devices scheduled to take effect January 1, be delayed. Echoing arguments made by Republicans against Obamacare, the Democratic senators say the levy will cost jobs — in a statement Monday, Sen. Al Franken called it a “job-killing tax” — and also impair American competitiveness in the medical device field.
The senators, who made the request in a letter to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, are Franken, Richard Durbin, Charles Schumer, Patty Murray, John Kerry, Kirsten Gillibrand, Amy Klobuchar, Joseph Lieberman, Ben Nelson, Robert Casey, Debbie Stabenow, Barbara Mikulski, Kay Hagan, Herb Kohl, Jeanne Shaheen, and Richard Blumenthal. All voted for Obamacare.
Well Duh!! Imagine what else they might have voted against if they had read and studied the bill in the light of day instead of rushing it through in the dead of night......

A tale of Davy Crockett... and a lesson Congress never learned
Over the period of many years in several occupations, I have noted an instant willingness to do good, if it is other peoples money doing the good instead of ourselves. I have watched Boards of Directors leap to their feet to spend trade association member's dues or stockholder's money in a mob sense of doing good -- but then take a complete back-step when asked to pull out their own wallets and checkbooks.
I was reminded of that this morning as I thumbed through the news and noted Congress and Obamanation's determination to take money from one set of our citizens and hand it out willy nilly to a second set.
Davy Crockett, whom we like to picture as a home-spun philosopher and hero of the Alamo, set an example during his short term in the House of Representatives from 1827 until 1831 when he headed West.
I refer you here to the writings of Edward S Ellis in his book, The Life of Davy Crockett. It is a lesson well learned - not just by our elected representatives, but by us and other voters as well -- I'm not sure who the hero of the story is; Crockett or Mr Horatio Bunce, US voter? You be the judge....
Caveat; there are some who say that Bunce never existed, or that this tale is a fabrication.. but keep in mind, revisionists have changed many events in history to more comfortably fit their picture of things as they should be -- not as they actually are or were.

The case of the Barking Dog that is not heard....
Politico's Battleground poll conducted this last week reflects a resounding majority of public support for..... (drum roll here please)....
Although there is a small majority in favor of raising taxes on the evil rich.... I hope your eyes drifted down and hung around that last entry: "Cutting government spending across the board" wins by three lengths ---- with 75% of the vote.
How come nobody is paying any attention to that barking dog? Or to Obamanation's determination to not even allow such heresy to be discussed when talking about budget balancing?
A distinct malodorous green fume mixed in the smoke and the mirrors -- isn't there?

Who said class warfare ended with the death of Marx and Alinsky??
Pecozbill's Top Ten List.....
Seems like this time of year, everybody -- from Bob Costas to the New York Times -- posts their Top Ten lists for the year just ending.... Costas of course, hates guns, and the Gray Lady hates successful conservative entrepreneurs. I just started thinking about that this week as my first 'Top Ten' popped into my head....
#1 - Customer Service Complaint -- Being put on terminal Hold, while a recorded message comes on every three minutes assuring me that my call is the most important thing that has happened to the company in years, and..... "please stay on the line until our lone customer service operator, located in New Delhi, India, has finally worked her way down to me." or words that effect.
I went through this on Tuesday of this week, whilst trying to sort out a scam performed on my popular brand credit card. We did resolve the problem, I did get a new card in the mail, she was very nice, helpful, courteous and spoke English better than most Americans. When I asked if she was in Arizona, she admittedly readily that she was in India.
Call completed - card received - I am a happy camper except for that nagging memory of the 45 minutes of recording telling me how important I was.... please hold.

Crass - obvious commercial here folks - be warned....
I have been AWOL the last couple of day's Partners, and herewith is my excuse. No, the dog didn't eat my homework!
The last three days, the sequel to "The Judge... Is Not The Jury" finally was released by the publishers. Available in E-book, Soft Cover and Hard Cover, "Judgement Daze" is now available.
Be advised that it is a continuation of the lives and adventures of the Spenser family in Texas ... so you'll enjoy this new novel much more if you read 'The Judge...' first.
This is only the second mention of my books in five years of this blog, so give me a break and don't bust my chops over it.... Okay?
Go to either of these sites to read more, including a free peek at a six chapter excerpt:

One of the few times a 'Do-Nothing' congress can cost you.....
I love gridlock in Washington! I think it is one of the smartest things our founding fathers built into the system. With shared powers, neither party gets to steam roll legislation though the corridors of Congress or down Pennsylvania Avenue!
Having said that -- we are apparently approaching one of those few occasions where gridlock is not such a good thing. I am speaking of course -- about the coming so called, "fiscal cliff". I didn't capitalize the title because current press hyperbole has already capitalized it.
Bottom line, if Obamanation and his Senate puppets block any action by Congress - the results will effect us all - in one way or another.
Even the usually worthless Washington Post has been able to put it in perspective for us all to understand in this click and pick article......
Seems to your simple host here, that an quick agreement by all concerned to sign on to Simpson-Bowles recommendations would be a whole lot better than putting their hands over their ears and shouting lalalalalalalalalalalal!

A sad day for TV Sportscasting.......
I happened to be watching the Cowboys-Eagles game when this sawed off little adult bat-boy went into his half time harangue. There is so much I could say - but it would all be bad -- so I'll just let Glenn's cartoon say it all........
Even Alice in Wonderland and the Mad Hatter would look sane next to these characters....
Costco giant retailer CEO Jim Sinegal is either the worlds biggest dupe, stupe or hustler. I have no idea which. As one of Obamanations biggest financial backers and political public supporters during the campaign, he was all in for BO's bid'ness friendly programs.
Now however, when the rubber is hitting the road, the chickens coming home to roost, Sinegal and Costco are leaving the gasping public behind and covering their collective butts by playing fast and loose with the rules:
So, another American Corporation goes $3.5 Billion in debt just to save themselves from the Taxman cometh.... I told you Alice would understand.....
Now however, when the rubber is hitting the road, the chickens coming home to roost, Sinegal and Costco are leaving the gasping public behind and covering their collective butts by playing fast and loose with the rules:
"Late last week, Sinegal and the rest of the Costco Board of Directors voted to pay shareholders a special $7 per share dividend to avoid higher dividend taxes that are scheduled to go into effect on January 1, 2013. As the Wall Street Journal notes,
That’s a $3 billion Christmas gift for shareholders that will let them be taxed at the current dividend rate of 15%, rather than next year’s rate of up to 43.4% — an increase to 39.6% as the Bush-era rates expire plus another 3.8% from the new ObamaCare surcharge.
More striking is that Costco also announced that it will borrow $3.5 billion to finance the special payout. Dividends are typically paid out of earnings, either current or accumulated. But so eager are the Costco executives to get out ahead of the tax man that they’re taking on debt to do so."
So, another American Corporation goes $3.5 Billion in debt just to save themselves from the Taxman cometh.... I told you Alice would understand.....
It's all relative..............
As I was surf'n through the Internet news this morning, I was linked to this headline in Scientific American:
Galaxy Grande: Milky Way May Be More Massive Than Thought
"Hubble observations of a speedy galaxy weigh on the Milky Way that indicate that our galaxy is at least a trillion times as massive as the sun."
Well heck, pilgrims, that sure puts things in perspective doesn't it? I can quit wringing my hands over Fiscal Cliffs and our nation going down the toilet. There are bigger and more important things to worry about.
As I understand it, if one of those stars flame out, it will be 850 thousand light years before our astronomers will notice it or see it through the Hubble telescope.
Ahh well..........
Oh, here is the link.

Yesterday was the 57th anniversary of the Rosa Parks bus incident that kicked off the civil rights sea change....
You would never know it however, because our narcississt in charge, Obamanation decided to recognize the anniversary by......... what else? Sharing a picture of his own self sitting on the Rosa Parks Memorial Bus.
Isn't that sweet.... and thoughtful? Kinda like giving the Queen a recorder full of his speeches for a special present.
What a great man! Bless his heart.......... if he has one in there next to that ego!

I can't veritfy the authenticity of this poem published 'back in the day in the Daily News -- but I like to believe it's real.....!!!
Here is what even the left leaning Snopes says about it.
(Thanks and a tip o' the Stetson to Jazz Shaow (Hot Air) for publishing this piece)

Keep your eye on that pea in this tax shell game.....
While everybody has their eyes focused on the Fiscal Cliff debates going on in Washington..... keep in mind that under current (passed without reading) Obamacare Law, five new taxes are going into effect on 1 January 2013, that is $268 BILLION dollars of new gob'mint revenue taken out of the economy PER YEAR! $268,000,000,000 !!!!
As outlined so clearly in the Americans for Tax Reform site.... these tax increases are flying under the radar and will come at us in different ways...
In my head, the most insidious is the Obamacare Medical Device Tax - because it isn't even a tax based on manufacturers profits. It's an excise tax on their gross sales!
So, if you are a medical device engineer who has invented some life saving device, or quality of life product and you have finally been able to manufacture it and bring it to market.... even though you are still losing money, the new Obamacare tax on medical devices will snatch 2.3% right off the top of your gross income..... before expenses. So if you are already losing money or barely breaking even -- guess what? Down the toilet with you, your factory, your jobs, your employees and all the patients that might have benefited from your product.
Is this insane, confiscatory and absolutely the opposite of what made America great, or what?
Go here for the full ATR.org report. Put down heavy or sharp objects first.... of course.
Or here for a three year old call to Rush Limbaugh regarding toothbrushes being identified as medical devices.... and what that means....

Question of the day....in Amerika...
Now that Obamanation has opened Fiscal Cliff discussions with his joke of the day (see next post) --- here's the question--
Are the GOP leaders bright enough and brave enough to see the writing on the wall and step forward with an offer to support the Simpson-Bowles Committee report? Obamanation established it - it was his dog and pony show - and when he didn't like the results -- he deep-sixed it....
In one fell swoop, the Republicans could move from the party of 'NO' to the party that was willing to compromise to save the country.... 2014 elections would be really interesting in both the House and the Senate.
For more on this offer that BO would have a real problem refusing - read Guy Benson's column in Townhall. Sure makes sense to this ole' boy......
