Nobody asked............ but I'm AGIN' it!!!

Early voting started yesterday in Iowa!

Yep, six weeks till the Presidential Election and yet the voters of Iowa can walk into any designated voting site and cast their ballot for the next President of the USA..   It doesn't matter that their candidate could drop dead next week, or sign up as BFF with Mad Vlad or the Mullah of Tehran .... nope --- they lined up early to get that pesky, difficult, complicated hard job of tapping a voting screen out of the way!

Here, this will really rock yer boat:
"An Iowa law, which national election observers say is the only one of its kind in the country, allows a campaign to gather 100 signatures and petition election officials to create a temporary voting location aimed at serving a particular constituency.

In Des Moines, Democrats requested that a voting site be opened Oct. 20 at La Tapatia Tienda Mexicana, a restaurant. Republicans requested a site be opened on the same day at Johnston Evangelical Free Church. Election officials granted both requests, along with those for voting sites at libraries, grocery stores and community centers.

When Michelle Obama visits the University of Northern Iowa on Friday, her chief task will not be simply to deliver a speech. She will ask supporters to cast their ballots on the spot, a few steps away at a voting site requested by the campaign and approved by election officials."

As a matter of fact, when polling opened yesterday morning at Eight O'clock, a.m., people were line up down the street to cast their votes.  Now, seems to me that if time and trouble were a factor in this insanity inanity, they would tip toe over there and vote during some lull in the crowds (?) between now and November 6th. How many people live in Iowa after all?

Besides, the rest of the country knows that an Iowan won't vote for any candidate that didn't personally visit them for coffee in their kitchen at least 4 times last year!!

Don't get me wrong, I'm not against 'excused' absentee voting prior to November 6th - for the old, the maimed, the bed ridden and those who can prove they will be out of their home counties on election day --- but this early voting thing has lost all common sense.

Not near as much as Washington and Oregon that do it all by mail.  I guess they have mail drops right inside the gates of their cemeteries.

Here is a closing question: Which is more important to the health of our country:

a. That every lazy, drooling village idiot gets to mark an X on a ballot?
b. Or that as many concerned, informed, and involved voters as possible are given the opportunity to vote?

How long before a 'temporary' setback becomes a 'way of life'?

I do indeed feel the pain of those who have lost their jobs - their homes, their cars, and yes - even their families.

But as I drive down the major highway (not freeway)  in my city everyday, I see 'Help Wanted' and 'Now Hiring' signs in the windows of restaurants, retail chain stores, auto repair shops, and even a very classy automobile dealership begging for salesmen.

These signs give me pause for thought. After a man or woman has been out of work for a couple of years and the gob'mint just keeps extending unemployment checks and months roll into years -- when does that gob'mint subsistence and subsidy become a way of life?

When food stamps are replaced with credit card looking pieces of plastic, rent subsidies are made electronically, and unemployment is applied for over the Internet and none of those old fashioned weekly or monthly visits with a job counselor are needed to sustain the flow, what then?

At what point does a formerly solid citizen and family provider just say, 'Screw it" and start watching Judge Judy in the afternoon instead of knocking on doors. How far down the path does s/he go - before doctor shopping to find a 'disability' free chit for life merely by asking Social Security?

Kids will be be fed two squares a day - that just means one Happy meal at dinner time.

I watched this happen in Europe twenty and thirty years ago..... when it became an easier life to just give up on aiming higher and start taking what is available from the largess of your slogging working neighbor who fights the traffic and the rat race each day. And pays his taxes.

Last question - What happens when the gob'mint runs out of money ..... (as it is doing) and we find that millions of folks have forgotten how to work for a living?

What then?

I have read that one of the aims of the Dimmocrats is to create a voting majority of 'takers' to ensure the Party's re-election forever.  The rich will still drive limos, the power elite will be at the head of the line - but what happens when America loses it's middle class and there is nobody to pay the bills. Greece?  Spain?  France? England?

Russia and China have no poverty riots for a simple reason ---- they don't allow them!!

Why isn't this comment echoling across the media....? Never mind - that was one of them rhetorical questions....

An Evening with Rafael Cruz

{Note from Pecoz - 'Some articles need no introduction - this is one of those. Written about the father of Texas's soon to be new US Senator}

September 26, 2012

An Evening with Rafael Cruz

By Bob Weir
If you've ever wondered whether leadership can be passed on to children from the genetic makeup of their parents, you should meet Rafael Cruz, the father of Ted Cruz, who has recently won the GOP nomination for U.S. Senator from Texas.  My wife Annette and I had the pleasure of sitting with the senior Cruz on last week at a dinner meeting of the Flower Mound, Texas Republican Club.

{........}

Mr. Cruz knows better than most about the horrible conditions under which people are forced to live in a socialist (read: communist) dictatorship.  He grew up in Cuba under the tyrannical rule of Fulgencio Batista.  When he was 17, he was arrested and charged with speaking out against the government.  During his incarceration, he was severely beaten by prison guards every four hours.  He described the pain as almost unbearable to the point of being unable to feel his hands and legs.  In 1957, at the age of 18, he managed to flee the communist island and make his way to Austin, Texas with $100 sewn into his underwear.  Although he didn't speak English, he had an insatiable desire for education and a strong work ethic.  He found a job washing dishes and worked seven days a week to pay for a college education at the University of Texas, where he met his future wife.

They immersed themselves in mathematics, and after graduation, they started their own business, doing seismic data processing for oil companies. And from this very difficult start in life, the Cruzes raised a son who became the state solicitor general, representing Texas in cases before the Supreme Court of the United States.  Among the general's victories was the defense of the Ten Commandments monument that stands on the state capitol grounds.  Cruz won a 5-4 decision of the high court.  He also defended the Pledge of Allegiance and won a unanimous decision after a federal court of appeals ruled against the words "one nation under God."  Now, after his primary victory over Lieutenant Governor David Dewhurst, (Cruz) the son of a Cuban immigrant, who came to this country to experience freedom and opportunity, is about to be elected to the Senate, the most powerful legislative body in the world.

Ted Cruz says of his dad: "When I was a kid, my father used to say to me all the time, 'When we faced oppression in Cuba, I had a place to flee to.  If we lose our freedom here, where do we go?'"  Where indeed!  Rafael told us about the Castro government's rationing of food, clothing, and all the other things we take for granted.  "The people are allowed to buy a pound of meat per month," he said.  "If you violate the rules, you get thrown in a prison cell for years."  He told us of a friend from Cuba who visited Texas and went to dinner at a restaurant.  "When he saw the size of the steak on his plate, he broke down crying," Rafael said.  "'This would feed my family for a month.'"

When Mr. Cruz got up to speak to the GOP assemblage, he was even more passionate as he talked about the greatness of our country.  "Except for the Bible, the two greatest documents ever written are the U.S. Constitution and the Declaration of Independence," he said, with fingers jabbing at the air.

Sadly, many Americans take their freedom for granted.  They need to spend an hour with Rafael Cruz to get an idea of how lucky they are.

Remember John Cleese's video - Ministry of Silly Walks?

There are some things that are just inexplicable  -- this closing of the gates on the border between India and Pakistan is one of those events.  I'm sure the ceremony grew as each board guard detachment tried to out do the others...

Keep in mind, this whole Kabuki Theater Act takes place EVERY NIGHT of the year when they shut the gates....
between these two major nuclear armed countries.

The narrator certainly has tongue in cheek as well....

Six weeks 'til election day .....

... and as I sort through news items to bring to y'alls attention - I am coming across a couple that I think are just too long and complex to report with clarity in this ole' blog. I may just link you to a couple of them today or tomorrow and let you dig and judge for yourself....

On the other end of the spectrum, there is this little gem, a no brainer if you will.

The ACLU and the SEIU and others have have teamed up to sue the Michigan Secretary of State, Ruth Johnson.  Her sin?

She added a check box on the ballots:
 "Are you a U.S. citizen?  {yes}{no}

My God, talk about blatant voter suppression and attempting to confuse the voters... If they let this get by, next thing you know, they'll be asking 'What is your mothers maiden name?"

This story is a howl -- go here!!  You don't even need to know if you are a citizen to read it!

In a fit of angered leadership......

..... the President of the United States of America, has decided to really show those Islamic terrorists and Muslim murderers of our Ambassador and his staff that we mean bid'ness!!!

Yessirree.... no more half stepping -- On Friday, the White House lifted the secrecy and released the names of fifty-five Guantanamo Bay detainees who will be returned to their native lands to pursue their life's delights.

As I recall, one of the earlier releases was observed and video taped on the scene during the massacre of the unarmed diplomats in Benghazi just last week!   If they attack our other embassies throughout the Middle East, there is no telling how many prisoners BO will fly home for the Holidays....  Ramadan that is.....

Our friends at Hope n' Change have pretty well nailed it.......

R U 1 of duh Six Percent???

The 'six percent' that I am talking about are.... those six percent of the voters who haven't made their minds up about this election just yet.  They are the infamous 'undecideds' that the press and the polls are fixated on......

In my retired military, country mind, any SFB (look it up if you aren't familiar with that acronym) that has not made up their minds who would best serve us as the next POTUS is either a drooling village idiot or the dimmest bulb on the porch. God help us if we are depending on them. Perhaps the worlds greatest liars?

I don't care if they vote Lefty-Liberal-Socialist-Redistributionist or Righty-Conservative-Free Enterprise-Tenth Amendment!  But after watching Obamanation and the Dims these last four years, and listening to Romney who has been running for POTUS for the last eight years ....  I just can't accept that there is a citizen in this country that doesn't know how s/he is gonna vote in 44 days.

Unfortunately, I reckon a lot of that voting and ballot filling out is probably going on in ACORN back rooms all over the nation already.  Not to mention mortuary offices all over Chicagoland.....

I don't reckon even a faux pas at one of the upcoming faux debates would change my mind. Well, wait a minute.....  if one of the two candidates were to whip down his trousers and moon the so called moderators - I might be inclined to vote for him... but failing that......

Even if I don't live to see another Presidential election, I will have lived (God Willing) through this most important one of my life time and the most important one for the future of my kids, grandkids and great grandkids!     I kid you not!!!

Just in cae you thought the 'Apology Tour' was over....

.... check out this one minute commercial airing today on Pakistan TV with your TAX DOLLARS buying the time....

As you watch this one minute apology commercial - ask yourself, "If I was an Islamist, would I think these infidels are simply knocking and apologizing for their own 1st Amendment, or are they just sucking up to us greater sons of Allah?"

Your tax dollar at work...........

Breaking news -- 2008 'Bama fan meets herself today...

I had the unique opportunity to observe a big fan of Obamanation in 2008 interview her present self (four years later)...   oh, here -- watch it for yourself!

(Thanks and a Tip O' the Stetson to my Vet friend, Joe, in Houston)

Whee Doggies..... the response didn't take long....

Just yesterday, Obamanation admitted that he couldn't make change in Washington on the inside as POTUS!   He'd have to be on the outside. (See my post yesterday just three posts down)

Already - Gob'nor Romney has responded....... "If you want to change D.C. from the 'outside,' we'll give you the chance in November......!!   Hot Damnnnnn!

Ole' Pecoz ain't hip enough to own one of them 'iPhone 5 things from Apple....

Heck, I'm still learning how to get my voice mail on my non-camera cell phone!

But apparently Apple has updated is operating system with IOS 6;  a new map app intended to replace all of those Google Maps app.

Alas, there are a couple of kinks in the system... I won't picture 'em here -- I'll just link y'all to an article with some marvelous pictures of roller coaster highways..

Enjoy the ride and look out for that first dip.....

How far backward can you bend before you fall on your butt?

The House Ethics Committee is drawing to a close on the ethics charges against Maxine Waters....  you remember her - she's the one that threatened to "socialize' all the oil companies during committee hearings..... and her fellow Dims damned near fell out of their chairs laughing.

Anyway -- the long-long-long hearings regarding her steering federal money to a bank her hubby is involved with are coming to an end.   But I read with interest that despite the fact that the Ethics Committee is comprised of five GOP and five Dems, just to keep it fair, that: "Last February, all five Republicans on the committee and the panel's ranking Democrat withdrew from the case to avoid any questions about impartiality."

Now Pilgrims, I don't know if they withdrew because they saw it as a slam dunk even without their votes - or this was a typical show of congressional cowardice in the face of potential criticism.  Either way -- it is pretty damned weak.

BTW, with limp wristed Barney Frank 'retiring', if the Dims take over the House, Ms Waters will Chair the vaunted Financial Service Committee!!!!!  How scary is that?

Here is the rest of the story.

Nine second video that you'll hear from again.....

I think you'll see this short video again (many times) - here's a heads up!

Even in Texas - there is too much gob'mint....

Just one more example of our Nanny State in action.

Back story: a Texas mom sits in her front yard watching her kids ride their scooter around their cul-de-sac in front of the house out in the fresh air and sunshine.  Fer you Yankees, that would be a 'dead-end' street.

A neighbor complains to the local police department, they come and arrest the mom, haul her away in handcuffs...    I guess she should'a locked them in their room with their personal computers and cell phones to spend the afternoon???

Go here, for the rest of the story...

The French are flying their true colors again....

I opened the Drudge Report this morning and the headlines announced that the French were shutting down and boarding up twenty of their embassies throughout the Middle East. The reason?  Some French magazine printed a cartoon depicting Allah in less than a respectful manner.

France's answer....... cut and run - heck they'll probably prosecute the magazine editor and the cartoonist before they are done..

In any event, not sure what I'd find, I Googled, "French Battle Flag'.  I kid you not (as Jack Parr used to say many years ago) this white flag you see below is the French Battle Flag that Google found for me -- along with a dozen other shots of the same flag.

Why am I not surprised.  So when Hitler's troops came marching in to France at the outbreak of WWII, this was the flag that was supposed to scare them into running back back home to Germany?   I'm surprised the French didn't win the war by attacking while the Germans were lying on the ground laughing.....

Two candid shots you might have missed.....

Obamanation welcomes home the remains of four Benghazi embassy staffers....

... and what might have happened on 9/11 if 'W' Bush had channeled Obamanation instead of his own clear thinking....

About Romney's comments on the '47%'....

By now y'all have read or heard more than you want to on this topic .... and if'n you ain't, you will have by the end of the week.

So I'm only gonna say, "Ain't it refreshing to hear a politician tell it like it is! To say out loud before God and the voters --- what we are are all thinking in our hearts!"

And more so, when after some limp noodle grandson of Jimmah Carter, who found and snuck the video out, Romney called a press conference and repeated his words in their full context..... didn't back away or hide behind 'context' excuses!

Well done, Mitt!! It's refreshing.........

I notice that there is a traffic jam of left wingbat press corps declaring Romney's election bid as DOA on account of this....... boy, are they gonna hate this weekend's poll results.......... or what!!!

Not my kind of democracy, thank you very much.....

There is a Brit fellow, named Nigel Farage, who is anti-European Union, but is a fully credentialed member of the European Union Parliament. You know, kind of like Nancy Pelosi is in our House of Representatives right now. Or Rand Paul in the Senate.

Anyway, when some Belgian named Harman Van Rompuy, finished his speech at one of their meetings, Mr. Farage rose and commented that in his opinion, Mr. Van Rompuy had "all of the charisma of a wet rag" and further, that he came from "pretty much a non-country."

Although the 'truthiness' of both of these statements was not disputed, the Brit, Mr. Farage was fined €2,980 ($4,000) for daring to utter such ghastly words.

Like I said, not my kind of democracy (with either a small d or a capital D)

And yet I hear some of our legislators and judges allow as how we ought to posture ourselves and our laws after the Europeans?

It ain't very often...........

....that I see something in Texas that I am plumb ashamed of.... However, the Victoria Texas Independent School District pushed a burr under the saddle last week.

Apparently, some teacher or somebody posted this aberration of our USA Flag in one of their classrooms... and it wasn't until the principal started getting e-mails that she or anybody noticed it and thought to take it down.

Naw, I ain't complaining that they are pimping for Obamanation in the school house -- I've come to expect that from school teachers and staffers, even here in the great state of Texas. What tightens my jib is the desecration of the US Flag --- and even the kindergarten teachers ought to know those rules..... and certainly the middle school teachers should ...

Typically, the school is gonna' teach a remedial 'flag code' class to the students --- instead of the teachers and staff.... that figgers!

Let's not concentrate on Washington so much we miss what happend to 400,000 kids in Chicago this week!!

According to a study done by the Thomas B. Fordham institute a few years ago, 39% of the children of Chicago teachers are sent to private schools to keep them from having to go through the system!

It's no better in other major cities, or the White House either!!

For those of you who were forced to attend school taught by those Chicago teachers, that's four out of every ten!!!

Do you recognise this woman?

She is either the chief advisor to Obamanation or, if you believe some of the reports, his chief minder -- working for those who hold his strings.

I'm not sure which she is, that's above my paygrade, but of one thing I am certain...... While the American Ambassador to Libya, Christ Stevens, was without the historical Marine guard detail in Benghazi, Libya .............. Ms Valerie Jarrett was on vacation on Martha's Vineyard, USA..... with a FULL Secret Service guard detail on her full time!

Dem pollster, Pat Caddell is quoted: "The media has been completely uninterested. We don’t provide security for our ambassador in Libya, but she needs a full Secret Service security detail. And nobody thinks there’s anything wrong with this. And nobody in the press will ask. What kind of slavish stoogery are they perpetrating here?

This country has reached the point of absurdity. There are people dead because we don’t have security details for them. But she’s privileged to have a full Secret Service detail on vacation?”

I feel no need to add any comment....

My ole' head hurts........

Sorry I was MIA yesterday - but I purposely took a day off to let all of this insanity wash down the drain..... I wanted to look at the filter and see what sludge was still sticking after all the headlines.... I'm talking about the Islamist raids on all of our American Embassies of course - and the attack and murder of our Ambassador to Libya in particular....

The facts kept coming in -- I call them facts - but I reckon 'reports' would be more accurate. When I was a kid, I was told to believe 'nothing that you hear and only half of what you read'. Nowadays, in the absence of any true journalists -- I don't believe what I hear OR what I read... until I've read it from several sources.

So, what do I believe about this week?

- I believe that Secretary of State Clinton DID pull the Marines out of our embassies in Libya and substitute unarmed locals as guards....

- I believe that Obamanation and his cronies were informed of the upcoming attacks before they happened.

- I believe BO is clueless in his Middle-East policy and even more clueless regarding the lack of respect the Muslim community has for him and the USA.

- I believe the administration signed off on the Cairo apology statement.

- I believe the Christian Coptic video had NOTHING to do with the riots - 9/11 was the catalyst, the video was coincidental.

- I believe that BO is so self-absorbed that to this day, he still doesn't see where he has gone wrong.... he is the ONE after all.

- And finally (for now) I believe that if Romney and Ryan and their folks don't get downright tough in their campaign -- they'll end up like gentle Johnny Mac did in 2008....... Scratched at the starting gate!!

I believe in this political ad too!

What do you believe?

Color me confused...........

I'm having a real problem this week!

I am used to the bias of the main stream media in favor of elitist liberals, it ain't like they try to hide it or keep it a secret....

But this week, when our Embassies are attacked, our ambassador and several staffers killed and wounded - and;

It appears that Obamanation neither attended daily intel briefings nor took action when we received notice that these planned events were about to take place.....

Then how is it that the MSM manages to turn everybody's attention toward Romney's comments, rather than BO's failures. It get's curiouser and curiouser!!

Just askin'.....

Is Obamanation 'channeling' Jimmah Carter?

That appears to be the case in today's cartoon by my favorite guy - Ramirez.

In the 1980 election campaign, Carter said about Ronald Reagan: “It’s a make believe world. A world of good guys and bad guys, where some politicians shoot first and ask questions later,......"

Now in 2012, Obamanation says this about Mitt Romney: " “Governor Romney seems to have a tendency to shoot first and aim later.”

(A tip O' the Stetson to Ramirez, Investors.com, and Ed Morrissey of HotAir.com, for drawing attention to this strange repeat of history and language)

NOTE: To all my uniformed VET friends....

Thanks and an angry Tip O' the Stetson to my vet pal Joe in Houston.

A "Bully Pulpit!"....

My, how word meanings change with the times and the players involved:

"Bully pulpit" comes from the 26th U.S. President, Theodore Roosevelt, who observed that the White House was a bully pulpit. For Roosevelt, "bully" was an adjective meaning "excellent" or "first-rate" -- not the noun "bully" ("a blustering browbeating person") that's so common today. Roosevelt understood the modern presidency's power of persuasion and recognized that it gave the incumbent the opportunity to exhort, instruct, or inspire" (link)

Recently however, the White House (Oval Office) seems to be converted to a Chicagoland, Al Capone type 'Bully Pulpit'.

"Hey, that's a nice car company, 'be a shame to have it shut down."

"Hey, that's a great guitar company, where'd you say you buy your wood?"

"Hey, your polling company has been in business for years, be a shame if our Justice department sued it into bankruptcy."

You know of what I speak -- I noted this morning that HHS has decided that smoking should be banned on ALL college campuses. And it might be a good thing. But since there is no law...... "Hey, it would be a shame if you lost all those gob'ment research grants, student Pell grants and federal student loans, wouldn't it?"

I guess the question we all need to ask ourselves, between now and November 6th, is not just, 'Which candidate will more likely shrink gob'mint and get it out of our lives?' - but to rethink what we want and don't want from the federal gob'mint in the first place.

Hmm, seems like a good place to repeat the Tenth Amendment to our Constitution.... you know - the one that EVERY elected official swears to uphold:

Amendment X
"The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states respectively, or to the people."

That's not all that complicated - is it?

Mirror, Mirror, on the wall................

That Ole' Obamanation magic is working again.....

Yessirree Bob, Ole' BO'man hisself went to Egypt to apologize for our past trespasses, bow and scrape, and oh yes, hand over money to those Egyptian rascals.

He supported the Muslim Brotherhood, encouraged the 'Arab Spring' and now it's payback time. They are mobbing our embassy, burning our flag, spraying graffiti on our walls -- and in other ways, showing their appreciation for all his efforts!

Ain't it nice to be appreciated?

Doctor describes Obamacare in one LOOOOOONG sentence!!

This says it all...... I note the Doctor had to stop and take a breath (and giggle) at the nonsensical truth of her statement!

If you've already seen this - I don't apologize, I'm just sorry I'm late to see it as well.....

About that Chicago teachers strike.......

I hate to discuss items in here that I know y'all are already aware of, but after staring at the headlines - I just gotta say something about that Chicago teachers union strike:

First the headlines:

- They turned down a 16% pay raise, when they are already being paid (I can't say earning) the highest wages in the country; average $76,000 per year plus bennies.

- They refuse to have their teachers rated for competency and perhaps let go if their students can't pass common tests.

- 79% of their 8th grade students are not proficient in reading.

- 80% of their 8th grade students are not proficient in math.

- Mayor Rahm Emanuel's kids go to private school for $25,000 per year.

- Chicago school drop out rate is 40%!! Every other kid doesn't graduate!

Now how can I top those headlines that speak so loudly?

Oh, I know -- Chicago taxpayers will pay to keep 140 schools open to serve breakfast and lunch to the little tykes and provide baby sitting services from 08:30 a.m. till 12:30 p.m. for hundreds of thousands of them. Suppose any of our tax dollars are footing that bill? nah....

I'm certain that someone will insist that they buy them all matinee tickets for the afternoon along with popcorn and free soda pop.

What have we become as a nation - and where are we going?

I heard someone comment today that this teacher union thuggery is part of a "deal to make a hero out of Obamanation" by him 'bringing the teachers and city' together. That remains to be seen? For him to accomplish that, he'd have to be in tight with unions and Godfather Emanuel ..... ooops, he is, isn't he. Hmmm

Oh Ronnie, where are you when we need you??????

Spreading the ..............

The manufacturer claims that their machine, coupled with this six axle wagon is the 'Worlds Largest Manure Spreader'!!

But then there are those that claim that that title rightfully belongs to the current occupant of this residence...

I dunno, it's a pretty close call, ain't it?

Some jobs are just tooooo dirty!

Prime time voter fraud? Or were your eyes lying?

In case you don't recognize that Happy Face on the left, that's His Hackness, the Mayor of LA and chairman of the Dim's convention.

When FOX news pointed out that they had omitted God and Jerusalem from their party platform, their fearless leader made one of those fearless 3:oo am calls and demanded the platform be amended because they got caught. Not willing to deny 'The One', with the able assistance of a stern looking lady, a prewritten teleprompter, and typical Dim chicanery.... Mr. Villaraigosa brought home the victory and saved God and the party.

Knowing that it took a two thirds vote to amend the platform, and failing to even get a clear one half of the vote -- he simply --- called for three votes, adding the 1/3rd Aye votes from each of the three voice votes --- eureka! --- he had unanimous approval.

What a guy, what a democracy, what an astute parliamentarian.... He was so proud of hisself that he was even quoted as saying - “The president, the vice president, Mrs. Obama, all of them acknowledged the decisive way I handled that.” (sounds like a 4th grader with a good report card, don't he?)

Hmm, I wonder when Michelle Antoinette was appointed into his chain of command?

58 Days till November 6th Pilgrims - !!!

The hungry California Western settlers must have known.....

.... There ought to be a law!!!

A hungry, homeless California man was sentenced to 60 days in jail : His crime? Choking a pelican to death for dinner.... because he was hungry.

Yep, two months in jail for killing a scavenger bird for dinner, Oh my!

Alvarez first said he found the bird dead, but later admitted he caught it and killed it because he was hungry and hadn't caught any fish, a spokeswoman for the district attorney said.

Brown pelicans are protected by state law. In a Van Nuys courtroom, Alvarez pleaded no contest to animal cruelty. Judge Jessica Silvers sentenced him to 60 days in jail and a year's probation, prosecutors said.

Well, at least with 'three hots and a cot' at the tax payer's expense, Mr. Alvarez won't be hungry for the next two months. I sure hope that he isn't served any 'dead' chicken, duck, or turkey during his incarceration. What a sin that would be !

I wonder what Judge Silvers would have done to Lewis & Clark, the Donner party, or other hungry pilgrims back in the day?

I understand that a California mixed-martial artist accused of ripping out his friend’s heart and removing his tongue while the two were on hallucinogenic drugs has pleaded guilty to murder and mayhem charges. He received a prison sentence for ripping out that still beating human heart - and he wasn't even hungry!

What a State of Justice!

I'm so confused...........

How can the Mayor of Chicago, the poster boy for Democrat unionism -- be faced with a 30,000 public school teachers walk-out?

It's mind boggling. He is what they are about..... his leader - Barack Hussein Obamanation is their prince... How could they walk out in in the final 60 days of the election cycle.....

I'm kidding, of course ... I know how --- you know why.... it's more than leadership or direction! It's all about the Union Leadership. Those union leaders have never been in a classroom in their life. Nor have their Six Figure salaries, perks and punks.....

God Bless the poor children of Chicago -- if they don't get whipped in their schools --- they'll get shot down in their streets.....

That Dimmocrat leadership is great!

A golfer's tip.... passed on to improve your game.

America.... food coach on wheels?

While I was looking for anything timely and interesting to read that had NOTHING to do with politics this morning, I came across this bit in The American Spectator.

Well written by Chris Orlet, it asks the question, 'Why our opposition to hiring locally?'

I don't know why, but I found it both profound and sad in some way. I guess because among millions of other Americans, during my working career, I have been flown to distant cities - wined, dined and interviewed - hired (or not) and after a half dozen years -- moved on.... the thought of remaining in their city never crossed our minds. Surely those doing the hiring in those distant cities could have found somebody local.

Anyway - for a political head clearing, why not take a moment and read
Rootless in America.

Three minutes about that inclusiveness of the big tent DNC.......

The normally Left Leaning, frothing, screaming Jon Stewart -- sits back and lets his folks talk to Dems about their open arms and Big Tent openness .... kinda warms yer heart!

Are the Dems going bi-partisan?

Several delegates at the Dem's convention were seen sporting these new 'Vote Black' campaign buttons....

Do reckon that Allen West, Mia Love, Arthur Davis and others can count on their votes and support????

Nah, I didn't think so either......

Here is a knee slapper ..... that will bring tears to your eyes.....

I was working on a separate project the other day, and in the course of my research, discovered:

If you Google 'official language of the USA' ?
Wikipedia will respond with:
"The United States does not have a national official language"

On the other hand, if you Google 'official language of OPEC' (OPEC comprised of Algeria, Angola, Ecuador, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Libya, Nigeria, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Venezuela. with headquarters in Vienna) you will be surprised to note that:
English is the official language of OPEC.

Is it me, or is something wrong with this picture?

In Arizona, you don't have to license or conceal your personal hand gun.....

I think the good folks of Arizona have done their home schooling on the wisdom of Thomas Jefferson!

And designed their motorcycle seat/saddles to accommodate.

"A government big enough to give you everything you want, is strong enough to take everything you have."

- Thomas Jefferson, Third President of the United States of America (1801-1809)

Obamanation counters Clint Eastwood with 'One - Two' Punch!

Not to be outshone by the durned GOP's Convention surprise guest visit from Hollywood's Clint Eastwood, Obamanation's people are pulling out of the stops to counter punch.

Clint's appearance was kind of a disheveled cameo thing.

I wonder if Scarlett Johansson (on the left - with and without camouflage) and Kerry Washington (on the right - painted for prime time and au natural) will show up for a disheveled cameo or a well painted eye candy show?

Maybe they couldn't get Miss South Carolina to come and introduce him? 'Cause she lost her map?

Breaking news --- Obamanation's coronation being moved into the little room.....

BO's big night - designed to match his foam rubber Olympian column lined night of 2008 - has been moved into a smaller 15,000 seat auditorium -- downsized (?) from the 78,000 seat Bank of America Stadium.

It's only a rumor of course, but I heard that the problem was that they put the Dimmocrat ex Mayor of New Orleans Ray Nagin (left) in charge of the operation of busing in the old folks,
kids and dead people from the neighboring five states to fill that larger stadium.

Alas, like the best laid plans, with Nagin in charge, this plan got washed away!!

Don't let 'em slip this one by you, Pilgrims!!!

This Dimmocrat video is only 17 seconds long - but it's message goes back years --- clear to the Stalin collectives.... you may need to play it a couple of times -- the message is, 'we belong to the gob'mint' ..... (our clubs, churches and schools are secondary)..... not the other way around.... as in, the 'gob'mint belongs to us'...

Skeery, ain't it!

And apparently, I ain't the onliest guy on the prairie that thinks it's skeery! Check out Day By Day, today!

We've all heard the expression about 'The elephant in the room that nobody wants to mention!"

The MSM had fun with Clint Eastwood's improv with the empty chair at the GOP convention last week.

But I don't hear any talk about the Dem's problem with the empty chair on the podium with them this week........

Illinois Senator 'Turban' Durbin wins dance contest against Gob'nor in 'Best Little Whorehouse in Texas'!!

Shucks folks, I have seen some expert duckin' and dodgin' by politicians of all stripes in my life... best personified by that little gob'nor as played by Charles Durning in the movie version of this classic play.....

But last night on Special Report with Bret Baier, 'Turban' Durbin outdid them all. In this two minute clip, you will see him duck, attack, bob, weave, and jab --- anything but answer the simplest of questions - not complicated at all: "Why is the word 'God' taken out of the Dim's platform entirely, and why did they remove the word 'Jerusalem' which has been in their platform for years... Not a tough question, right?

How low can you go? (or... what's next for ex General Wesley Clark)

General Wesley Clark served our country long and mostly well. He was awarded the Silver Star and the Purple Heart for several several wounds in the smoke of the battlefield.

Then unfortunately, Mr Peters (of the Peter Principle) injected himself into the picture and this Army Armor officer became anointed as one of the Perfumed Princes of the Pentagon. (Thanks Dave Hackworth!) and it's been all down hill since then.

He screwed up the war in Bosnia, was called home.... decided that any President that didn't want him in command must be in need of replacement and thus..... ran for the office of POTUS himself. I'd describe the self-absorbed black hole that he created but that would just bore you. And then, unlike every other retired four star general that wants a TV gig, he couldn't even get steady work there.

So now he is a cardboard cut out of a brainless, vapid soldier on a reality show called, 'Stars Earns Stripes' or something equally vacuous. I surf'd through about four minutes of it the other night, four minutes that I will never get back -- and never risk again.

Thank You for your service, Mr. Clark, but now it'sLink time to get a real job or move into the home for retired Perfumed Princes.......

On the other hand, Stars Earns Stripes is giving jobs to C & D rated actors and near celebrities..... that's more than the White House is doing....

Quote for the day......

Our quote for the day - on this sunny Empty Chair Day becomes most appropriate. As our space tax dollars have been re-missioned to convince the muslim world that they have accomplished much and are much admired ....

"Cutting the space budget really restores my faith in humanity. It
eliminates dreams, goals, and ideals and lets us get straight to the
business of hate, debauchery, and self-annihilation."

-- Johnny Hart

(originator of B.C.)

Maybe our grand kids will be able to hitch a ride into space on a muslim space shuttle some day.....

Happy 'National Empty Chair Day' y'all!

This day, formerly known as Labor Day, when 23,000,000 of our fellow Americans were still laboring instead of out of work... has been denoted as National Empty Chair Day. An idea started by Clint Eastwood at the GOP Convention and now crossing the country.

The non-partisan chair represents the apathy of the trough feeders in Washington DC and their lack of political will or effort to help solve the country's economy.

Throw them out in November ---

And go here for more background on National Empty Chair day ------
or here!

An undated quote from the 'Ragin' Cajun' James Carville....

I haven't found the date of this quote.... but it is so unbelievable that I double sourced it on both Google and Yahoo... It is all over the place -- I figured the safest place to copy it would be from the Democratic Underground Blog because they decry it even as they print it....:

“Ideologies aren't all that important. What's important is psychology.

The Democratic constituency is just like a herd of cows. All you have to do is lay out enough silage and they come running. That's why I became an operative working with Democrats. With Democrats all you have to do is make a lot of noise, lay out the hay, and be ready to use the ole cattle prod in case a few want to bolt the herd.

Eighty percent of the people who call themselves Democrats don't have a clue as to political reality.
What amazes me is that you could take a group of people who are hard workers and convince them that they should support social programs that were the exact opposite of their own personal convictions. Put a little fear here and there and you can get people to vote any way you want.

The voter is basically dumb and lazy. The reason I became a Democratic operative instead of a Republican was because there were more Democrats that didn't have a clue than there were Republicans.

Truth is relative. Truth is what you can make the voter believe is the truth. If you're smart enough, truth is what you make the voter think it is. That's why I'm a Democrat. I can make the Democratic voters think whatever I want them to.”

James Carville

I wonder why the Times, WaPost, and Chris (Tingles) Matthews don't have this quote on their masthead or opening monologue?

(If any of y'all know the date and location of this quote, please share it)

Dog Whistles in the air........

Now that CNN has completely jumped the shark and have decided that almost any term used by a Republican is a 'racist dog whistle' , one has to wonder where it stops.

Apparently mention golf in the same sentence as the POTUS is racist ... I have no idea why, the PGA is one of the whitest sports groups in the nation..... something to do with Tiger, I reckon.... but Obamanation ain't no Tiger Woods on the golf course.... I can't speak to his other personal life hobbies but don't reckon Michelle Antoinette lets him out to play around much.

This weeks, champeeeeen, dog whistle comment comes from the Tingle Down feller, or was that Tingle Up? Anyway, he now opines that anytime a conservative refers to BO's Chicagoland hometown....... that's a racist dog whistle too!

Good Lord, I can't even hear the TV without my TV Ears on, how the hell am I supposed to hear all these high frequency racist dog whistles?

Fortunately, the good folks over at Hope'n Change asked the right question with this picture.....

Best line of the day....

I haven't always agreed with George Will, the erudite conservative columnist. As of late, his edges seem to be wearing with age. But his column on Friday, "Liberalism, as we know it", was right on target. And definitely worth your read...

However the penultimate paragraph - definitely deserves recognition as the Line of the Week:

"Given Democrats’ current peevishness, it is fitting that Sandra Fluke will address their convention. In February she, you might not remember, became for progressives the victim du jour of America’s insufficient progress. She was a 30-year-old-student — almost half way to 62, when elderly Americans can begin collecting Social Security — unhappy about being unable to get someone else (Georgetown University, a Catholic institution) to pay for her contraceptives."

One more 'final word' on Clint Eastwood's performance....

A couple of posts down, I offered my final word on Clints 'empty chair' Bob Newhart type presentation. I lied folks.... here is my final, final word on it -- now that I see the Nation got it, even if the pundits didn't----

I think that Romney's campaign team ought to find a couple of identical chairs, and set it up on the podium of every campaign rally that either Mitt or Ryan participates in for the next two months..

Don't mention it, don't speak to it.... let the empty chair speak for itself.... even better than the empty suit hisself!

Lisa Benson sums up MSNBC and the MSM's coverage of the GOP Convention!!

(Not) The last word on Clint Eastwood's schtick at the GOP Convention

We have all drawn our own conclusions about Clint Eastwood' 'Chair talk' on Thursday night.. I'll admit I panicked when he first came out, wild haired, stumbling and maybe Tee Many Martoonies? But I recovered, and looked closer, and have re-watched it several times since.... And I have to agree with these incisive words penned by Mark Steyn on National Review Online:

Play Clinty For Me

Like William F. Gavin, I hugely enjoyed Clint Eastwood’s turn last night, but I’m not sure I agree that it was “unintentionally hilarious” and that “he forgot his lines, lost his way.” Clint is a brilliant actor, and a superb director of other actors (and I don’t just mean a quarter-century ago: In the last five years, he’s directed eight films). He’s also, as Mr. Gavin observed, a terrific jazz improviser at the piano — and, in film and music documentaries, an extremely articulate interviewee. So I wouldn’t assume that the general tenor of his performance wasn’t exactly as he intended. The hair was a clue: No Hollywood icon goes out on stage like that unless he means to.

John Hayward writes:

The intended recipient was not Mitt Romney, the convention delegates, or even Republican voters, but rather wavering independents. Clint was there to tell them it’s OK to find Obama, his ugly campaign operation, and his increasingly shrill band of die-hard defenders ridiculous. It’s OK to laugh at them.

I’m not sure he could have pulled that off if he’d delivered a slick telepromptered pitch. As Mr. Hayward suggests, the hard lines packed more of a punch for being delivered in the midst of a Bob Newhart empty-chair shtick from the Dean Martin show circa 1968. Indeed, they were some of the hardest lines of the convention and may well prove the take-home (“We own this country . . . Politicians are employees of ours . . . And when somebody does not do the job, we’ve got to let them go”), but they seemed more effective for appearing to emerge extemporaneously from the general shambles.

The curse of political operatives is that they make everything the same. A guy smoothly reading platitudinous codswallop while rotating his head from the left-hand teleprompter to the right-hand teleprompter like clockwork as if he’s at Centre Court watching the world’s slowest Wimbledon rally is a very reductive idea of “professionalism.” Even politicians you’re well disposed to come across as slick bores in that format. Which is by way of saying Clint is too sharp and too crafty not to have known what he was doing.

Oh, and next time ’round, he should sing.

Incidentally, I’m not generally in favor of what Rob Long would call “working blue,” but, if you’re going to do it, doing anatomically impossible sex-act cross-talk with an invisible presidential straight-man in front of the Republican Convention is definitely the way to go.

A man of Eastwood's stature, wealth, and with his eight young offspring watching, does not do TV presentations for millions without forethought!
