Never mix Wild Turkey & Coke Cola.......

My dear ole' Daddy tole me never to mix a good shot of Wild Turkey Bourbon with any of that Coke Cola stuff as a mix!

"Use ice, water, or drink it straight," he used to say, "But never mix it with soda pop!"

Here's one example of what can happen! The lower picture on the
right kinda gives you an idea of the driver's eye view of the whole incident!

Let this be a learnin' moment fer ya, Pardners!!

The power of the incumbency ???????????

Let me see if I have this straight now...

1. Obamanation was so thrilled that he carried North Carolina in 2008 that he steered the 2012 Dimmocrat Convention there.... to double down in 2012......

2. A 'right to work' state, this planned locale for the convention has aggravated a lot of union muckey-mucks (thugs in suits). This aggravation was exacerbated when he decided that he would read his TOTUS's acceptance speech of the nomination in a stadium facility built by non-union workers. After which they will all return to their Charlotte hotel rooms, staffed by non-union employees.

Hows he doing so far........? Wonder if his Greek Columns are already shipped in?

Well, let's see, today the incumbent Dim Gov'nor, Bev Perdue, is so low in the polls that she announced today that she isn't even going to run for a second term in office in November!

North Carolina Dim Congressman, and uber ACORN style liberal, Brad Miller is announcing that he is canceling his re-election bid for his House seat.

I've seen Chinese Fire Drills that were better planned and organized than this upcoming Dim convention --- Maybe, since he's still eligible to vote -- the late Mayor of Chicago, Richard Daley might want to volunteer to chair this convention! They did so well with the convention in his fair city back in 1968!!

Remember, it beat the 'Thrilla in Manilla' twixt Ali and Frazier for sheer knock-down power and riots.......

And the beat goes on........ I love election years!

Does this summarize the SOTU address, or not??

I hear an ECHO.....ECho....Echo......echo.....ech...ec..

I took a pass last night.... figuring that I would hear nothing no from the TOTUS... that it would just be a reprise of those phrases that played well in the past.

Good guess...... here's a summary in only a minute and a half.....!

Today is January 20th, One year exactly 'til the next Inaugaration Day!

I thought I'd change things a bit to day, and ask two open questions instead of offering my opinion.

First question for Inauguration Day 2013 Minus -365:

We have just suffered through a series of a dozen debates between GOP candidates wherein we have tried to learn the answers to our questions as voters..... but have been stymied by the gotcha liberal media's constant efforts to put them all down.

From Diane Sawyer's whiny inane questions, to George Snuffleopolises clueless approaches in totally partisan questions.... to last night's fiasco with the Commie News Network using hatchet boy and pea brained John King as moderator, it has gotten worse and worser!!

Now here is my question..... the Republicans are supposed to be conservative, astute business oriented citizens. Why in God's name do they turn these debates over to these left wing kooks? Let's face it, the ratings have been good despite the inept and even evil intent of the moderators ... it's the greatest 'reality show' of the year --- Who will get voted off the island next?

So why didn't the Republican National Committee (RNC) at the beginning of the year, package the debates, pick the venues, hire professional debate moderators trained in the Socratic method of conducting debates (not sound bites) and then offer these off as individual programs for bid to the networks?

The networks would have fumed at lack of control and direction, but there is no way they would have passed...... looking at the ratings, this would be cost effective prime time broadcast hours for them. And regardless of their miserable leftist ways, money talks!

Years ago (many years ago) PBS had a weekly series of Socratic debates between experts and moderated by a professor of the Socratic method...... it was a true learning experience and mesmerizing .

I ask...................... Why not?

Next January 20th, we'd know a hell of a lot more than we do now.. ... a show of hands on dumb questions not withstanding.

Why don't you e-mail the RNC and ask them?

Question #2 for this January 20th Day

It's been 60 years since the attack on Pearl Harbor. We celebrate the occasion this year with this fiasco in Washington over the rejection of the Keystone pipeline and all the benefits and security it would bring to this country ......

and as I note on the Internet that the PM of Canada is headed off to China for 'talks' next month (Feb).... I got to thinking.

- If these same leaders, bureaucrats, and regulations were in place on 7 December 1941...... would Pearl Harbor be open for shipping again yet?

- Would the concrete piers for the foundation of the Pentagon be poured and inspection approved yet?

- Would the environmentalists demand that all Navy ships containerize or sanitarily dispose of all waste while at sea before they allowed them to sail?

- Would, could the Manhattan Project have occurred, much less be kept off the front page of the New York Times?

Just thinking out loud...... how fortunate we were at the time.... My grade school years were in the 40's and my foreign language aptitudes have been proven next to nil by the Air Force.

I'da been in big trouble, Ne?

("Ne" is Japanese for 'Right?')

The 99% Occupy the Golf Course of America

Occupy PGA Tour-

I am a member of golf's 99%. I play golf, but have not yet made it to the professional level!! I have played the game for over 40 years, but have not really put in the practice time and study to be the best. I also probably do not have the skills to really get there either. However, I now feel that I should be paid by the successful professionals for trying.

It isn't fair that those players who have worked harder, have studied the game, have better equipment and are stronger and more skilled should make all that money.

Oh sure, they have their charities that they give millions of dollars to, but I am sure that they write all that off on their tax returns to reduce paying their fair share. Is that fair? They should pay for my golf, buy me new equipment and pay me some of their winnings. The whole system should be changed to accommodate people like me!!

Let's occupy a golf course and demand that those who are better at what they do pay for us who aren't as good. Whining should get us something, like media attention and sympathy from liberals!!

The insanity is that there are folks who think like this --- all over the country!!!

Thanks and a Tip O' the Stetson to my Pal Al of Md for dropping this over my transom......

This says it all........................

Detroit's approach to crime......... fine the victim!!

Y'all remember when Rudy Giuliani became mayor of New York City.... one of the most crime infested cities in the country? He decided that the way to reduce crime was to start with the basics. So he banned aggressive panhandling, took the 'windshield washing' thugs off of the street corners. And then he slowly moved up the crime ladder to the more serious crimes.

After his two terms were up, he left a shining example of how safe a huge metropolitan city could be.... for it's citizens and it's tourists.

Flash forward to 2012 in Detroit Michigan.... the city that looks like the Japanese bombed us instead of vice versa. The Detroit leaders and police department have figured out how to solve all of the automobile break-ins and thefts in their fair city.

They are banning parking on the streets.. Yep, Pilgrims, if a law abiding citizen parks his car in a 'high crime' area -- the police will have the car towed away and the owner cited.

Doesn't that just make ya' swell up with pride and confidence your Police Department, Detroit?

What's next - arresting people on the street with cash in their billfold?

Any word smiths out there???

confidedpast participle, past tense of con·fide (Verb)

Verb:
  1. Tell someone about a secret or private matter while trusting them not to repeat it to others.
  2. Trust (someone) enough to tell them of such a secret or private matter.
Okay Wordsmithies - now that we all agree with Merriam-Webster on the meaning of the word 'confided'.... as in sharing a secret......a private matter...

Woman says her fake penis got her fired

January 13, 2012|BY DANA DiFILIPPO, difilid@phillynews.com

IS THAT a Fruit-A-Freeze in your pocket - or are you just happy to see me?

A northeastern Pennsylvania woman is suing a South Jersey-based maker of frozen treats and other snack foods, claiming that she was wrongfully fired because she wore a prosthetic penis to work.

Pauline D...., 45, wore the device to the J&J Snack Foods plant in Moosic, Lackawanna County, while she contemplated a gender change, according to a federal civil-rights complaint filed Wednesday in U.S. District Court in Scranton. She confided in several co-workers about the device, and someone told management, according to the complaint.

I admit I added the emphasis on 'she confided in several co-workers'.... but that's just to make my point..... forget the frivolous lawsuit.... my question is if you share a secret with several co-workers, isn't it reasonable to say that the secret is no longer a secret? And that confidentiallity is no longer descriptive....

So we have this lesbian 'male wannabe' running around the snack food factory with a fake penis strapped on and running up to all her co-workers and bragging about it. Can't you imagine the remarks she was making..... and apparently they were gross enough to cause a co-worker to report it to her manager.....

The sad part of this story is that probably she will be reinstated with back wages and the manager canned for firing her (it). Whatta country!!

Data Mining -- My laugh for the day.....

Last nite, Alan Gilbert, conductor of the NY Philharmonic Orchestra was in the last page of Mahler's "Ninth Symphony when a cell phone went off in the front row.

Gilbert stopped the orchestra, accosted the phone sinner and addressed the audience... who all applauded. It's a great story - and one that should happen more often -

But that's not what gave me my laff for the day... in this computer driven Internet age, the text of any article is 'data-mined' to determine the subject and then 'spot ads' are placed on that page that should attract readers of that particular article.

This article mentioned cell phones and iPhones several times (in a negative sense, however) but just guess what ads popped up all over the page!!!

I 'spect that when the computers of the host of this site data mine this post, cell phone ads will pop up over there on the right.... We'll have to wait and see!!

Meanwhile, click here to go to the article on the orchestra and check out the ads!!!

Help Wanted!!

Yours truly needs some serious help here folks. Can any of you good people tell me why 'law & order' and all around good guy, Mississippi Governor Haley Barbour issued 203 pardons on his last day in office?

Murderers, rapists, DUI manslaughter felons, and more...... it makes no sense to me. Matter of fact, it makes Bubba Clinton's last day in office pardons look downright modest.

I've always had the highest admiration for this man as a governor, a thinker and a conservative. Now I got to rethink the whole process unless one of you can hep 'splain this!

Only January 12th, and we already have identified....

The first candidate for 2012's 'DUMMY OF THE YEAR' contest!!

Seems Ms Basham, 47 year old non-rocket scientist was incensed when her neighborhood crack dealer charged her $40 for sugar instead of crack.

So, she did what any good citizen would do..... she called #911 to report his cheatin' ways! Needless to say = Suzanne has to buy her crack from her cell block captain now.... Go here for the rest of the story!

A prize winning cartoon by AF Branco

Midnite Mail.............

This e-missile came in over my transom sometime last night..... I thought I would share it on this rainy, cold Monday morning..... not to brighten the day - but because the weather sets the stage for the message!

Dear Pecozbill
I am really concerned about North Korea's appointment of the "dear leader," Kim Jung Il's youngest son to be the new leader of North Korea -- a nuclear power! After all, Kim Jung Un (pronounced Kim's young-un?) had NO military experience whatsoever before daddy made him a four-star general in the military.
This is a snot-nose twerp who has never accomplished anything in his life that that would even come close to military leadership: he hasn't even so much as led a cub scout troop, let alone coached a sports team or commanded a military unit. So, setting that aside, next they make him the "beloved leader" of the country. Terrific!!!

Oh, crap! I'm sorry. I just remembered that we did the same thing here, We took a community organizer who has never worn a uniform and made him Commander-in-Chief; a guy who has never led anything more than an ACORN demonstration and made him the leader of this country.
Never mind!
(thanx and a Tip O' the Stetson to Mike of Houston)

Once upon a time..... (or - "How little piggies become major pork)

Back at the height of the depression, as in 1932, farmers were sitting on too many farm products that they couldn't get to market and couldn't find buyers for. Some school districts in Southern Missouri needed to borrow some money from the Reconstruction Finance Corporation to cover the cost of labor in preparing and serving school lunches.

This was expanded in 1933, 1934, 1935, and 1936. Big changes in 1941 and 1942. Major changes in 1946 when HST signed the National School Lunch Act!

As recently as 2007, the gob'mint spent in excess of $9,000,000,000 (Nine billion tax dollars) on this one program alone. How many hundreds or thousands of gob'mint employees make a living in this work in inestimable.

In the grand scheme of today's budget deficits, $9 Billion is chump change -- but it does beg two questions......

-Why, eighty years after the Great Depression, is the federal gob'mint feeding lunches to local school district children across the land? Isn't that the job of the states and local school districts?

-How many hundreds (thousands?) of similar monster federal programs have grown over the years in the constant attempt to build a Nanny state? And how much do they cost us, the tax payer each year? Last I heard, the gob'mint doesn't have any money, except what it takes from us.................the taxpayers!

Just asking..........

Who knew that 'votes' was spelled - E N T I T L E M E N T S?

Obamanation's left foot comes down on Constitution, hir right foot comes down on the Department of Defense!

In one of my retired military group discussions.... the topic of Obamanation's announcement yesterday that he is gonna' cut the military in half to support his socialist plans...... and his rationale. One of our members summed it up so well, that I am just gonna cut and paste his comments here for your review..... and comments!

" Well, if you listened to him yesterday, among the many things he said, was "As we look beyond the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan -- and the end of long-term nation-building with large military footprints -- we’ll be able to ensure our security with smaller conventional ground forces. We’ll continue to get rid of outdated Cold War-era systems so that we can invest in the capabilities that we need for the future, including intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, counter terrorism, countering weapons of mass destruction and the ability to operate in environments where adversaries try to deny us access.

Notice the last half of the sentence ... "we can invest in the capabilities that we need for the future, including intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance..." Well, for those of you who don't know, ISR is pretty much directed to the missions of the drones we now operate. You know, like the one that went down in Iran. Mr. President, I ask you, when was air power the sole force of the United States used to end a war? While air power may weaken an enemy and drain away some of the will to fight, it has never ended a war without a concentrated effort by those with boots on the ground. World War II? No! Korea? No! Vietnam? No! Iraq? No! Afghanistan? No! (Now some might say the dropping of two nuclear bombs on Japan stopped World War II with Japan. I say that strategic bombing did not. The weapons did! Bombers were involved only because that was the only way we had of delivering those weapons. If you have a problem comprehending that I suggest you look at the campaign that started April 1, 1945 which resulted in 165,000 military casualties of all kinds And that number does not include civilian casualties.)

"(W)e will be strengthening our presence in the Asia Pacific," What will you do? Nothing more than reassign dwindling assets from one region to another. Where will you put those troops? Korea? Haven't all the troops been moved well south of the DMZ? Japan? Well that should go over well with the Japanese. Taiwan? Ooops, we have already told the folks in mainland China that we have our troops out of there. The Philippines? Samo-samo!

Ah but your solution is the, "We're going to continue investing in our critical partnerships and alliances, including NATO. NATO? You mean the coalition that took seven and a half months to beat down the ragtag military of Libya so the rebels (read that as ground forces) could take control?

Sounds like a plan to me."

Thanks, and a Tip O' the Stetson to Dave of Maryland.....

Hawkeye - Cauci Over................finally!!

Never has so much TV air time been generated over so little news in TV history. I have one word for the Iowa Caucus results........ ........YAWNNNNN!!

$20 Million dollars, a zillion hours of national tv coverage - and it's a tie -- 18 votes separate an ex-senator who couldn't win re-election in his home state and a one term gob'nor zillionaire who has lost every other election he has run in. As Archie Bunker would say - "Whoop-de-doo"!!

They of course, are followed by the male version of Ross Perot's 'crazy aunt in the attic', a embittered and erratic ex-Speaker of the House and a Texas Gob'nor who can't remember who he wants to shut down!!

Yee Haw! The only other candidate - who should be busting her butt to be the next Speaker of the House so we have one with backbone for a change - is still coming around the far turn.

This is the best field of candidates the GOP can field against a total loser Dimmocrat incumbent POTUS? Give me a break ----

Or at least = give me a GOP majority in the House and Senate next November so we can put the reins on the Socialist in Chief!!

There is one ray of sunshine this morning - I see Jimmah Carter is offering Obamanation some re-election advice!! That's hopeful.................. have a nice day!!

We don't have another primary until ......... ooops! Next Tuesday? Oh Wow, and in New Hampshire too. Maybe all those TV talking heads will catch cold.

Shortest 'Best of 2011" List

Every year at this time, folks just tend to make lists, Ten Best, Ten Worst, Ten Biggest, etc for the year just ending.

I submit that this lawsuit, as related by the Topeka Capital-Journal, could top about a half dozen of those lists.... in brief:

A fugitive murder suspect is chased by the cops. Tires blown out, he runs into house, flashes knife, ends up eating Cheeto's. drinking Dr Pepper and watching Patch Adams on TV. Naturally, he falls asleep.

The couple fled, the police entered, and in the process of handcuffing the perp, accidentally shot him.

He is now in jail serving a 10 year sentence for another crime - he is suing the hostage couple for 'breach of contract', - reporting him to police causing him pain and suffering, and he is suing the police for shooting him.

The couple he held hostage is suing him for $75K for trespass and other torts.

Don't believe this can happen, Pilgrims? This is the land of lawyerly opportunity! Click here for whole story!

There was stiff competition - like the gentleman who was suing for age discrimination and tried to get the judge recused because he was 'too old'!
