In a recent column discussing the "Five Lies We Have Been Beaten With Daily", Michael Hammond includes as Lie #5:

LIE #5: WE ARE ON THE VERGE OF “DEFAULT” ON OUR DEBT

After listening for six months while our “tax fraud” Secretary of the Treasury whined about “default, default, default,” even the most stupid among us (see, e.g., MSNBC, the New York Times, etc.) now sometimes concede that the issue is not default to our bondholders, but rather a partial shutdown of the government.

(This hasn’t saved us from the spectacle of Congressman Steve King being grilled on MSNBC concerning whether he thought IRS-defrauding Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner was a “liar.” I mean, seriously, is that a trick question?)

But the bottom line is that this is the same government that’s been smuggling guns to Mexican drug cartels, funds 324,000 abortions a year (while lying about it), and is currently trying to outlaw right-to-work states in its pursuit of the Boeing case. And, frankly, it may be that we need a little less of that.

But I do have one final plea: While a Fox “talking head” is explaining how government payments will be prioritized, could you drop the subscript which says something to the order of “DEFAULT LOOMS!!!”?

The entire conscript of using the 'default' word is an insult to the American public. Signaled daily from the MSM, the Left Wing Nuts, and those with their agenda -- we are severely beat about the head and shoulders with it every day!

There isn't an accountant, bookkeeper, or high school graduate who doesn't realize that not raising the debt ceiling means nothing more than, guess what? Not raising the debt ceiling -- not borrowing more money. It has nothing to do with not paying our existing debt service.

They know, you know it, I know it, and they know you and I know it..... but they are betting we are too stupid to shout 'The emperor has no clothes!'

Raise your voices and shout Pilgrims!! -- hit those e-mail keys and shout!!

The next time your MSM outlet, newspaper, local politician or cocktail party Liberals mime to Obamanation's whines that everything is Bush's fault, please remember this chart.

Obamacare Bill -- just keeps on hacking...... at American jobs...

I won't repeat Pelosi's dumb statement about passing the bill before reading it again ... but we just had about the 500th 'other shoe' drop with the Bill's effect.

The Boston Globe reports that the Boston Scientific Corporation just announced that (because of the new tax imposed by the bill and need to cut costs) they are eliminating 1,400 jobs here to free investments. Oh and by the way, they ARE investing $150 million and hiring a 1000 new employees in....... China!!

What ciphers like the POTUS and Pelosi and Reid never understand is that corporations don't pay these new taxes imposed by Obamacare....... the end users do... the consumers fer crying out loud. And these companies have to do whatever they have to do to remain competitive....

Maybe they should call the Bill back up in the Congress and rename it the "Obama Bill to Destroy American Jobs, Competitiveness and Healthcare "

Here is some news you won't see on your Six O'clock evening news....

Do you remember all those forlorn pictures like this poor feller over here on the right that were publicized in every article just a couple of years ago.. The polar bear was running out of ice! Soon they would be extinct!! The canary in the coal mine!!!!

All those headlines... hmm, Very quietly, the feller up in Alaska that first spotted and reported all these drowned bears, (he was being paid the big bucks to manage a $50 million dollar group of studies.....) has been placed on 'administrative leave' for 'scientific misconduct' in his reporting.

His and his groups reports helped make the polar bear the poster child of Global Warming and jumped Al Gorebot and his sci-fi movie to the forefront..

It will be interesting to see how this plays out - because the public employees 'greenie' group is rushing to his defense. They not only want him rehired, they want an apology.......

Oh, and how are those poor cute little man killers doing...? Here's a report from the US Fish & Wildlife Service (released by the US Senate) that you probably haven't heard Katie Couric talking about:

"The U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service estimates that the polar bear population is currently at 20,000 to 25,000 bears, up from as low as 5,000-10,000 bears in the 1950s and 1960s. A 2002 U.S. Geological Survey of wildlife in the Arctic Refuge Coastal Plain noted that the polar bear populations “may now be near historic highs.”

By the way, is there some kind of subliminal phallic symbol being used in that picture above?

We have 536 elected representatives in Washington in the House, Senate and White House. Supposedly these politicians - along with a million hired yes flacks, are the best and brightest in the country.

Folks, I'm here to tell you - if the light bulbs on my porch were as dim as these (made in China - CFL haz-mat) so called leaders are -- I'd fall on my arse every time I went out of the house after dark.

They've screwed up the job market, the small business market, the housing market, the mortgage market, the corn ethanol market, and every other market they touch. Now they've even screwed up the credit card market with their new 'fees' regulations. And I haven't even mentioned our $14,000,000,000,000 national debt!!

I'm reminded of that age old question with a new twist (pun intended): "How many politicians does it take to screw up a light bulb?"

Hell these folks can't figure out that you can't borrow your way out of debt== how complicated is that? Ask any homemaker, male or female, for the answer to that question.

Nope, they want to tell us what toilets to buy, what light bulbs to use, what insecticides to spray, where we can drill, what we can say that is politically correct..... but all in the name of 'our good'!

Maybe the title up there should read: "Spineless is as Spineless does!" ... 'cause I sure don't see any America First backbone inside that D.C. beltway lately -- by either party!!

....at the last second after days of cajoling Charlie Brown into running up to kick it!

Every four years for the last 40 years, the Dims have held a football out for the African-American voters to run up and kick. Although they always snatched it away immediately after the elections, the Black vote got so well trained, as a group - they just automatically vote Democrat now.

So it appears to be the Hispanic-Americans turn for training now..... four years ago, Obamanation and the Dims promised them the world - every thing they want. Then after the election with the Dims running the White House, the Senate and the House of Representatives.... they promptly forgot them.

Aha, now it's coming up on election time, so BO is out on the stump -- making appearances and waving that football at them. Will he con them again?

Monday, at the national La Raza convention in Washington DC, the smiling, football holding POTUS said:

"Let's be honest, I need a dance partner here, and the floor is empty," he said.

Audience members greeted Obama with a standing ovation, and responded to his discussion of immigration reform by chanting, "Yes you can, yes you can."

"I need you to keep building a movement for change outside of Washington, one they can't stop, one that's greater than this community," Obama told them. ...

"But here's the thing you should know, the Democrats and your president are with you, don't get confused about that," he said Monday.

I only hope that the rank and filing voting Hispanic-American won't fall for his Lucy act, and run for the football again. I hope that they'll notice that the Freshman class of Hispanic Congressmen and Senators are Republicans - not Democrats.

I repeat, in 2009/10 when the Dems owned the both Houses of Congress and the White House, they did NOTHING for the Hispanic-American group that gave them 67% of their vote.

By the way - I ain't gonna tell you what I think of La Raza and their revolutionary agenda - you should know that for yourself..... this post is strictly about the two faces of BO and the Dems.

It seems that Mr Wade Sanders, heroic recipient of the Silver Star for gallantry in Vietnam........during his swift boat service alongside a Lt John Kerry (before he became Senator Heinz-Kerry) has been stripped of that Silver Star by the US Navy!!

Mr Sanders, was of course, the 'fellow hero' that introduced Johnny Boy at the Democratic Convention in 2004.

GE will hire 65 new engineers and support staff at a new Chengdu facility; about 60,000 people work at GE Healthcare globally, including 820 in the X-ray business, said Benjamin Fox, a company spokesman. Of these, more than 5,000 are in China, including about 2,000 sales reps, Duan said.

Oooops, Durn!! That sounds as if Mr Immelt and GE is more concerned about job creativity in China than here in this ole' United States of America!

S. African Man Wakes After 21 Hours in Morgue Fridge

JOHANNESBURG (AP) - A South African health official says a man awoke to find himself in a morgue fridge — nearly a day after his family thought he had died.

Health department spokesman Sizwe Kupelo said Monday that the man awoke Sunday afternoon, 21 hours after his family called in an undertaker who sent him to the morgue after an asthma attack.

Kupelo says the man started yelling, prompting morgue workers to run away in fear. They eventually returned and removed him from the fridge. He was then taken to a nearby hospital and later discharged by doctors who deemed him stable.

The mortuary owner says his family is very happy to have him home.

Kupelo urged South Africans to call on health officials to confirm that their relatives are really dead.

Even our heatwave in the United States shouldn't provoke this kinda escape!!

So....... the Atlantis landed safely. Pink slips and handshakes are handed out all around. For our next trips to the space station, our astronauts (passengers?) will line up to be groped by Russian TSA agents before being allowed to get their boarding pass on to a Russian space shuttle at the departure gate. They say that he who laughs last, last best. I wonder if anybody can hear the ghost of Nikita Khruschev (1st Secy of Soviet Union in 1957 when SPUTNIK was launched) giggling, stage left..... On the other hand it is true that NASA now has time to proceed with their new number one priority mission as directed by the sitting POTUS; travel the world and stroke the egos of Muslims everywhere and tell them how much they have contributed to the world............ She got a broken wrist, a cast, and a trip home to wait to go to court to testify ---- the bad guy got his leg broken in two places by her kick, hospitalized and awaiting arraignment on 1 August.

For the Worst Story - we travel down to Lexington KY for the Blue Grass Fair. They have introduced a new game to take your money this year. Yep, a Casey Anthony look alike - in a dunking booth. You pays yer money and you try to dunk the unconvicted trollop.

Whatever we think of her, she was tried by the media and found guilty, tried by a jury of her peers and found not guilty.... and now the Lexington KY Lions Club is exploiting her and Caylee's woes with this dunking booth.. Don't get me wrong here, Pilgrims...........

Ole' Pecoz ain't got round heels for large corporations, nor do I think that big oil companies are the cats meow!!

But with all the hot air blustering out of the Oval Office and the lefty sides of the House and Senate, I decided to take a look at some real numbers.. To hear them pols whining, you'd think that ExxonMobil was today's version of the robber barons of olde.

Now, I don't think for a minute that they are princes, but looking at this summary chart, I am looking at a global conglomerate that took in $114 billion buckaroos from around the world. Apparently they paid 25% of that in taxes and tariffs to gob'mints and managed a 10% profit for their shareholders after taxes and expenses.

If there is something wrong with this bid'ness ethic -- I wish somebody would show me. On the other hand.......

As I understand it, General Electric - those folks with either Obamanation in their pocket or them in his pocket (I'm never sure with that shell game) , apparently paid no taxes on it's $14.2 billion profits, not a penny!! -- but I hear no ranting and raving from the White House or Schumer or Reid.

I wonder why?

Maybe they ain't 'donating' enough to BO and the DNC?

Poor little rich girl turned richer woman, Jane Fonda......

.... thinks she's being censored because QVC cancelled her schedule to peddle her newest say nothing book. She blames 'well funded and organized political extremist groups'!!!

I reckon if she considers all of the American Vets that served in the Vietnam era, and those who served before the Vietnam era and those who served after the Vietnam era - and who collectively saw her for what she was and did ------- a 'political extremist group'...... she'd be right.

48 Democrat Senators Earn 'Hypocrite of the Year' Award

These last few weeks we've heard Obamanation berating all those rascally Republicans who are reluctant to raise the federal debt limit without some trades for budget cuts. We've also heard 'Chuck-you Schumer, Turban Durbin, Dingy Harry Reid' and the rest of the whiny crew demagoguing the issue where ever they can find a microphone or two people standing around minding their own bid'ness.......

Y'all remember when the Lone Ranger program used to start with the announcer saying, "We now return to the days of yesteryear.. when men were men......etc'

Well, Pilgrims, let me take you back just to March 16, 2006 (a mere five years) to the floor of the United States Senate - where the Dear One, Schumer, Durbin, Reid,......... indeed - every last Democrat in the US Senate voted "NAY" on the Joint Resolution to raise the debt ceiling.

They not only voted NAY as a bloc vote, they individually stood and railed against it....

These are those self same Dimmocrat Senators that are screaming that the GOP is trying to ruin the country by not raising the debt limit by several TRILLION DOLLARS past it's current record breaking $14 Trillion Dollars.

Then listen to these demagoguing charlatans with a fresh ear today......

When you run out of OPM (Other People's Money) it's time to put up or . .. . . . . . .. . .

In the quaint town of Rocky Hill, Massachusetts, there is a connecting ferry (see picture) to across the Connecticut River to Glastonbury.

Now this lil' ole ferry ain't nothing to look at, only runs during the summer season and serves no required service.... just a touristy thing.

There are a couple hard facts that everybody agrees on:

Although this ferry service has been running for 350 years, (before bridges and autos) that little tugboat and flat deck ain't the ferry of yesteryear. The original wooden ferry was oared across.

Although a local tourist attraction, running this cute little seasonal ferry is costing the state gob'mint $350,000 per year........ in a state staring at a $1.5 billion shortfall..

So the Gob'nor has scrubbed it from the budget. The locals are immediately up in arms -- "No No, you can't do that!", they cry.

Wiser heads are saying, if it's a tourist attraction and income source for Rocky Hill and Glastonbury -- turn it over to them and let them run it..............and pay for it!

Being a high minded, tight fisted conservative I'd agree! But then one could ask - why should the good citizens of Rocky Hill and Glastonbury ---- and Texas and the rest of the country have had to pony up $22 Billion dollars for that folly known as 'Big Dig' in Boston. A tunnel built to replace an ugly overhead highway? With Federal tax dollars......

I don't reckon folks are even allowed to ask what happened to the acres and acres of prime property that were made available by tearing down the old overhead highway.... and who profited from their development......

And on it goes......... Just thinking out loud - Pilgrims.... don' pay me no mind.

Detroit justice in the news again..... the BAD news, that is!!!

You remember Pilgrims, back on July 9th (down below) when I pointed out that city bureaucrats had threatened the lady with the good looking vegetable garden in her front yard with 90 days in jail for not planting grass? Apparently, after all the national attention, the local garden Nazis backed off! But wait. now they have been peeking thru her windows er something, and think she has an unregistered dog, er something.... and they are issuing her another citation that could land her in jail!

What the hell is going on up there --- the city's unemployment is rampant, demolished buildings are the natural landscape, graffiti covers every thing...

Oh, and just in case you think it's only in the streets, here's a story for you! A young Detroit lady was kidnapped, held and repeatedly raped, beaten with a chair and a two by four, and escaped. Frightened though she was - she appeared in court to testify against the rapist. When the rapists attorney tried to beat her down with words implying that 'she asked for it', the young lady mouthed an epithet... called the defense attorney a bitch.... imagine that -- and then immediately apologized.

The judge, that pillar of justice in the Detroit community immediately sentenced her to three days (and nights) in jail for contempt of court! And the victim didn't even call her (the judge) a bitch... unfortunately.

So she was placed in a cell IMMEDIATELY ADJACENT TO HER ATTACKER for two days and two nights with his threats before publicity again came to the rescue and the judge let her out on the last day!!

Way back when Ronald Reagan was POTUS , the Navy contracted for three oilers (fuel resupply ships) to be built. Two were 95% completed at a cost of $300 million$ of dollar$.

Alas, the last 5% was never completed due to ship builder's defaults and legal wrangling...

Now, after 25 years, the two ships, the Benjamin Isherwood and the Henry Eckford are being towed to International Shipwrecking Ltd in Brownsville Texas for scrapping and being dismantled.... Neither ship ever saw a day of active duty! Not one!!

Well, at least we'll get back a few of our tax bucks for the scrap metal and parts, 'eh? Not likely, mate!! As a matter of fact our brainiacs in Washington are paying a British company over $10 million to dismantle them!!

Woman Gropes TSA Agent's Breast at Security Checkpoint

PHOENIX - We hear a lot of complaints about security screeners groping airline passengers.

But now, a Colorado woman is accused of putting her hands on a TSA agent at Sky Harbor International Airport in Phoenix.

Court records show 61-year-old Yukari Mihamae grabbed the left breast of the female agent Thursday at the Terminal 4 checkpoint.

Police say she squeezed and twisted the agent's breast with both hands.

Officers say Mihamae admitted to the crime.

There's no word why she touched the agent.

Mihamae now faces a felony count of abuse.

According to court records, she lives in Longmont, Colorado and is self-employed.

I sure don't know the whole story, but I'll bet it will be a great one to listen to! You grab mine - I'll grab yours by God!!!

I'm not real sure of the numbers, but I am told that renting a U-Haul truck to go to California is about 1/10th the cost of renting one to leave. Something to do with supply and demand I reckon!

On top of driving all of the bid'nesses (and their owners and employees) out of the state with high taxes and over-regulation - leaving only the nuts, fruits, flakes and Hollywoodies to tie up the freeways..... Gob'nor Jerry Brown, the Chief Flake and his box of nuts have now decided:

Let India, Russia and other countries teach their children Math & Sciences. Let other education systems teach reading, writing & 'rithmatic! California schools aren't gonna waste valuable classroom hours on those silly subjects!! No Sir!

Effective January 1, all public schools in California will be required to teach students about the contributions of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender species of Americans! Yessir!! Starting in Kindergarten - straight through High School, they will examine the personal lives of heretofore non-famous Americans and put them under a microscope to see what they contributed to our society. Hmm, will this change them from non-famous to infamous?

Parents are protesting, scholars are aghast, but Jerry and his San Francisco treats are thrilled.

"To be or not to be?" will no longer be the question --- 'Was he or was she gay or lesbian?' is in!

NY City bureaucrats charge a beekeeper with a $2000 offense --- for 'not watering his bees'. Trouble is, the bees are two feet from a waterer and fifty feet from a freshwater pond. So the reason for the citation is........ bee worrying? city money raising? or Bee Ess?

I was sure it was going to be 101°, cloudless and arid..... must be the Golf Gods looking over Royal St George's Golf Club, 'eh?

Yesterday, the Minority Leader of the Senate, Mitch McConnell issued a proposal that would allow Obamanation to raise the national debt limit without a single GOP vote in Congress..... er something like that.

Honestly Pilgrims, I feel like even if I ain't the brightest bulb on the porch - I ain't the dimmest. But the convoluted reasoning that McConnell presented left my old head spinning. I thought maybe I was just dense..... so I started surfing around to find meaning to his political gobbledygook! It sure looked like 'duck and cover' to me.

Finally I came across Michelle Malkin's column.... which was headlined with this stick figure banging his head against the wall.... right away - I realized I was in good company in my thinking on this insanity.

Michelle, in turn, links to several other news sources and bloggers in an effort to find the truth, the light, and the way of the world...... one of which was Rich Lowry, who put it this way:

“It’s beginning to get out on the Hill. It’s complicated, but here is the gist as I understand it: Congress authorizes in legislation the president to submit a request for an increase in the debt limit in three tranches over the next year or so, with corresponding proposals for spending cuts; when the president submits his request, Congress immediately considers a resolution of disapproval; if the resolution passes, the president can veto it and–assuming his veto is subsequently upheld–he gets the increase in the debt limit. Got it? More later…”

So you see folks, like BO said the other day --- us millions of unwashed Americans just aren't smart enough or pretty enough or educated enough to understand the nuances of Washington legislative procedures.........

Yesterday, as I watched Obamanation rant and rave and sneer that the 69% of the American population that are against raising taxes and raising the Debt Ceiling .... just didn't 'get it', because they were ignorant of the facts and obviously not mature enough to understand the problems that he faces.

I was reminded of this poster of Timmy Geithner, Tax Dodger and BO's Treasurer of the US. The feeling is so pervasive at the White House now, that anybody who doubts...... 'is an unwashed ignorant slut' in their minds.

Perhaps they have taken Rahmbo's mantra one step higher... he said, "Never let a good crisis go to waste!'.

Obamanation and Timmy the Dodger seem to be taking this one step higher, "If you have no crisis, then fer Chrissakes, make one! And then don't let it go to waste."

A final thought, BO is on record (and tape) as being opposed to raising the debt ceiling during the Bush years when he was a United States Senator -- could he have been that ignorant of the facts at that time?

Speaker Boehner is all alone.............. and that's dangerous!

All of you Pilgrims that love this country, that want to see it succeed....... need to send positive vibes to this man.

If ever a lonesome leader in Washington needed all the support we can send --- this is the man - and this is the time.

As Obamanation uses every tool available to him in the Oval Office and with all his lackeys and slobbering main stream media syncophants, this man must remain firm. If he folds during these so called negotiations -- so to will the strength of the GOP fold next year as it splinters.

For Obamanation - it's simple -- doesn't matter what Congress does.....if he can get Speaker Boehner to fold and offer up tax hikes for a vote- BO wins. Whether the vote passes or not -- BO wins.....

So there is Speaker Boehner, running up and down Pennsylvania Avenue at the beck and call of this impostor in the White House. Someone needs to stick the proverbial steel rod besides his spine..... to keep him erect!

Someone needs to remind him that all bills of Budgeting and Taxing begin in the House of Representatives, not the White House or Dingy Harry's Senate office.

The Main Stream Media - or Lame Stream Media?

Of course, according to Planned Parenthood or the far left, Casey Anthony's only crime was to wait until the 11th Trimester to perform the abortion............

At any level, bureaucrats are a blight on the landscape and the conscience!!!

Take a close look at that house on the right, Pilgrims!! That neat little brick home is in the Detroit suburb of Oak Park, Michigan. It seems that the lady of the house decided after her front yard was torn up to replace a sewer line --- to plant this neat and productive garden instead of grass and bushes.

Apparently, one of the local bureaucrats (on steroids) of the Planning Department took offense and issued her first a warning to tear it out, and then a citation for not doing so.

Because she didn't roll over on her heels after all her work, and has chosen to fight it and asked for a jury trial, the city bureaucrat (using taxpayer money) is planning to throw the book at her - she is facing 90 days in jail if she loses.

So instead of being presented the 'Yard of the Month' Award she deserves, she gets knocked about by the 'system' and it's pushy employees. All of you who have seen the pictures of the burned out, graffiti painted, boarded up houses and buildings in the Detroit area will see the surreal circumstances here!

Project Gunrunner or Fast & Furious?

By any name, this insane gob'mint action is looking more and more like government departments running amok ........!

I'm not going to repeat the insanities here -- If you want to stay ahead of the story, just Google, "project gunrunner" and then stand back and take your choice. Apparently, $10,000,000 (million) tax payer dollars were allocated and buried in the Porkulus Bill back in 2009 to pay for buying up weapons and distributing them to gangsta's from below the Mexican - American border.

Like Watergate, it appears that the bigger crimes are in the cover-up or the cover-up of the cover-up! Makes Iran-Contra scandal look like spilled tea at a baby shower!

Unfortunately, we can on the Main Stream Media to close ranks and protect their Dear One in the White House and his lackey in the Justice Department..... Are there any real investigative reporters left in the land?

Chinese stoicism replaced by Simon Legree tendencies?

For centuries, between dynasties, the Chinese were famous the world over for their patience, understanding and stoicism in the face of criticism. Is that coming to an end now that they hold the mortgages and T-Bill notes on the world's democracies?

PM Cameron, on a recent visit to China, thoughtlessly questioned the Chinese stand on human rights. This has happened in the past by unthinking Westerners.... but usually they are bright enough to speak thus on their own shores, not their hosts. It used to be overlooked. But no more.

This reaction can range from mere pique to full-blown outrage. Prime Minister Wen Jiabao of China most undiplomatically and antagonistically attacked the UK government of his host, PM David Cameron, during a joint press conference in London. The issue of such great importance to comrade Wen was last year’s statement by Cameron during his own Beijing visit in which he criticized China’s human rights policy. The clear implication of Wen’s remarks was that this was none of Britain’s affair and that this type of "interference" could impede China/UK trade relations.

Both Prime Ministers realize of course, that this 'trade' is a whole lot more important to Britain than it is to China.......... Now comes the question of the Dalai Lama's visit to the USA.

(Reuters) - China's Foreign Ministry warned U.S. officials on Thursday not to meet with visiting exiled spiritual leader the Dalai Lama, saying it hoped Washington "appropriately dealt" with Tibet-related issues.

Is that the sound of an Oriental money lending tiger, stretching and yawning that I hear? I remember hearing in my youth that the real 'Golden Rule' is: "Those with the gold, make the rules."

Perhaps there are more dangers to this gross indebtedness hole into which we are digging ourselves deeper and deeper than we first thought . ??

My first and LAST words on the Casey Anthony trial.......

..... if all the holier than thou talking heads on TV would just take a deep breath and imagine that Casey Anthony had just had young Caylee aborted in a partial birth abortion they would all feel better. Wait till her feet are showing, then stick a needle in her little living head and suck her brains out, then throw the body in the trash....

Casey Anthony would be the Poster Gal for the National Association of Women, Planned Parenthood, the Women's movement.... and of course --- of all of the hand wringing yammering 'contributors' and 'anchors' and 'anchorettes' of the Main Stream Media who pretend to give a damn about young Caylee.

So, don't think of it as murder - think of it as a delayed abortion! Feel better now?

WASHINGTON — The U.S. government has warned domestic and international airlines that some terrorists are considering surgically implanting explosives into humans to carry out attacks, The Associated Press has learned.

There is no intelligence pointing to a specific plot, but the U.S. shared its concerns last week with executives at domestic and international carriers.

People travelling to the U.S. from overseas may experience additional screening at airports because of the threat, according to the Transportation Security Administration.

Placing explosives and explosive components inside humans to hide bombs and evade security measures is not a new idea. But there is new intelligence pointing to a fresh interest in using this tactic, a U.S. security official told the AP. The official spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss sensitive security information.

Rumor control............!

I just want y'all to know I checked with Hope n' Change, and there is absolutely no truth to the rumor that according to the president, if evil billionaires continue to get tax breaks, poor people will be forced to feed their children kitten smoothies.

Some random Independence Day Thoughts.......in no particular order

1. The Boston Tea Party was resultant of a Threepence (3 penny) tax per pound of Tea shipped to the Colonies. I wonder what they would think of our taxes today?

2. During that Tea Party, 342 chests of tea were thrown overboard into Boston Harbor. I wonder what the fines from the Environmental Protection Agency would be if this were done today?

3. Massachusetts was the only colony to revolt against the tea tax.... all of the other colonies just refused the tea and shipped it back to England. But apparently the Gob'nor Hutchinson of Massachusetts (who had two sons involved in the transaction) liked the tax and refused to ship it back. Not much has changed in Massachusetts over the centuries, has it?

4. A few of the Tea 'Partiers' dressed up as Mohawk Indians with feathers. I guess if they re-enacted the scene now - to be more accurate - the Indians, recruited from local 7/11's would have dots on their foreheads.

5. A couple of items, verbatim, from the Declaration of Independence are"

"He has refused his assent to laws, the most wholesome and necessary for the public good."

"He has forbidden his governors to pass laws of immediate and pressing importance, unless suspended in their operation till his assent should be obtained; and when so suspended, he has utterly neglected to attend to them. "

Both of those items sound like they could have come from a 2011 Gob'nors conference, don't they?

There is so much that could be said --- but WTH!! , enjoy this Independence Day while you still can. Buy a mattress or something........

Oh, one final thought, our beloved but unsingable national anthem, Star Spangled Banner, which is either lip synched or mangled at every opportunity was adopted as our National Anthem as recently as March, 1931. Isn't it time to rethink it -- There are a couple of very singable, very beautiful songs out there we could adopt.... America, the Beautiful, God Bless America and more.
