Less than 48 hours till the Polls open Tuesday morning...

..... and as I sit here, I am having flashbacks to the bumper stickers in Texas during the Sixties!

“Please Lord just give us one more oil boom, and this time we won’t screw it up.”

Then I get to thinking about the Contract with America, how the GOP swept into both houses of congress in 1994 ---- They slowed down Bubba Clinton's liberal juggernaut and set the tone for the 90's. But then they soon lost their way -- began to think that 'Earmarks' were personal perks, began to spend money while not raising taxes to pay for those expenses ... made all sorts of legislative and personal mistakes........... and in general blew it!!

The good citizens of this country threw them out and returned control of congress to the Dims just five years ago ---- and now we are $5,000,000,000,000 (5 Trillion bucks) deeper in debt than we were when Pelosi & Reid took over ......... and make no mistake, the POTUS can't spend a damned dime that the Congress doesn't appropriate and authorize!

So I hope that when the new born again GOP conservatives show up to be seated in the 112th Congress next January 3rd --- that they all have Bumper Stickers on their office doors:

"Thank You Lord, you gave us one more chance, and we promise not to screw it up this time!!"

I don't watch much baseball anymore....

Too many overpaid players playing semi-talented baseball to keep my attention.

But, I actually watched a little of tonite's Rangers win over San Francisco.... making the series more interesting than it might otherwise have been.... I know that former President Bush is throwing the ceremonial first pitch tomorrow nite -- and got to thinking about the 'coolest ceremonial first pitch under great pressure' in history.

Regardless of your politics, if you can recall a greater, braver and more accurate ceremonial first pitch in a troubled and scary time --- I'll listen...

President Bush throw first pitch - after 9/11!

With Veteran's Day coming up soon, I thought we might want to reminisce.....

Well Well, the other shoe finally dropped......

Y'all recall of course, when the Department of (so-called) Justice dropped all charges against the Black Panthers with the night sticks in the Ohio voting on election day, 2008.

Well now Pilgrims, the US Civil Rights Commission has just come down with their report on the DOJ's action --- and it ain't purty for them in power!

The Justice Department has tried to hide the involvement of high-level political officials in the dismissal of a controversial voter-intimidation lawsuit against members of the New Black Panther Party, a federal commission concluded in a draft report.

The U.S. Commission on Civil Rights said the department’s reversal in the case, which drew criticism from conservatives, indicates that its Civil Rights Division is failing to protect white voters and is “at war with its core mission of guaranteeing equal protection of the laws for all Americans.”

The commission’s draft report said the department’s “repeated attempts to obscure” the involvement of political appointees in the dismissal “raise questions about what the Department is trying to hide. ”

The report accuses the Justice Department of stonewalling the commission’s investigation and of failing to turn over key documents and make witnesses available. Schmaler disputed that, saying the department provided more than 4,000 pages of documents.

That kinda summarizes the whole ugly scene --- but for more, click here. I wonder if Congressman Issa, who will replace Conyers the mealy mouthed as chair of the gob'mint oversight committee, might want to look further into this in January when the 112th is seated? Duh....?

Vote next Tuesday!!! Because Words matter.....

Michelle Malkin's column this week is so on point.....

....that I decided not to interrupt her....

Standing Tall: The Rise and Resilience of Conservative Women

by Michelle Malkin (Oct 29th)

My military friends have a favorite saying: "If you're not catching flak, you're not over the target." This campaign season, conservative women in politics have caught more flak than WWII Lancaster bombers over Berlin. Despite daily assaults from the Democratic machine, liberal media and Hollyweird -- not to mention the stray fraggings from Beltway GOP elites -- the ladies of the right have maintained their dignity, grace and wit. Voters will remember in November.

When "comedian" and "The View" co-host Joy Behar lambasted GOP Nevada Senate candidate Sharron Angle this week as a "b*tch" who would be "going to h*ll" for using images of illegal alien gang members in a campaign ad, Angle responded by sending a lovely bouquet of flowers and a good-humored note: "Joy, Raised $150,000 online yesterday. Thanks for your help. Sincerely, Sharron Angle."

Outgunned in the comedy department, Behar sputtered nonsensically and with bitter, clingy vulgarity: "I would like to point out that those flowers were picked by illegal immigrants and they're not voting for you, b*tch." Illegal aliens are not supposed to vote at all, Miss B. But why let such pesky details get in the way of a foul-mouthed daytime TV diatribe?

Just a week earlier, Behar delivered a hysterical rant against GOP Rep. Michele Bachmann of Minnesota, accusing the mother of five and foster mother of 23 of being "against children" for opposing the expansion of federal health care entitlements for middle-class families and children (the SCHIP program) and for opposing the costly Obama takeover of health care. Behar merely parrots the demagoguery of Democratic leaders in Washington, who have ducked behind kiddie human shields to avoid substantive debate about the dire consequences of their policies.

As a result of the Obamacare mandates, of course, insurers have canceled child-only plans across the country. And there are plenty of compassionate reasons for opposing SCHIP expansion beyond its original mandate to serve the truly working poor. Behar called me a "selfish b*tch" three years ago over the same issue. Why is it "against children" and "selfish" to challenge the wisdom of redistributing money away from taxpayers of lesser means who are responsible enough to buy insurance before a catastrophic event -- and then using their tax dollars to subsidize more well-off families who didn't have the foresight or priorities to purchase insurance with their own money?

But never mind those pesky details. Behar persisted in smearing Bachmann as "anti-children, anti-children." Facts be damned.

Distortions on "The Spew" are bad enough. But the "mainstream" media's complicity in spreading false narratives about GOP women is an affront to the First Amendment. When Republican Delaware Senate candidate Christine O'Donnell challenged Democratic opponent Chris Coons in a constitutional debate last week to name the five freedoms in that First Amendment, he blanked out after freedom of religion. Instead of reporting on the flub, the Washington Post and Associated Press misleadingly reported that O'Donnell had questioned whether the establishment and free exercise clauses were in the First Amendment. What she actually said to Coons during the debate was: "So you're telling me that the separation of church and state, the phrase 'separation of church and state,' is in the First Amendment?" It is not, of course. But never mind those pesky details.

In one of the most despicable last-minute campaign hits, gossip website Gawker -- run by Internet smear machine operator Nick Denton -- paid for and published on Thursday an anonymous tell-all from a man purporting to have had a "one-night stand" with O'Donnell. This misogynistic trash can't be verified, and the author admits that the sensationally titled "one-night stand" did not actually include sex. The sole purpose and intent of such checkbook journalism: Humiliation.

Pundits and late-night TV pranksters have ridiculed O'Donnell for exposing liberal bias against conservative female candidates. But these same smug mockers have spent the past two years deriding Republican vice presidential candidate and former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, her children, her body, her accent and her brain. They snickered at reports of Democratic California gubernatorial candidate Jerry Brown's campaign calling GOP challenger Meg Whitman a "wh*re." And they shrugged off "The View's" "b*tch" sessions as shtick.

The conservative women-bashers can laugh all they want. On November 2, success will be our best revenge.

Hear Hear! Michelle, Hear Hear!! Us guys have had our turn at the wheel for a couple hundred years.... maybe it's time we find our Yank version of Maggie Thatcher to help dig us out of this hole... God knows, they couldn't do any worse than the Dims and the RINO's have done the last 20 years........

BTW Pardners, if you don't make daily visits to Townhall.com - you ought to!

Bumper sticker of the week!!

Thanks and a tip O' the Stetson to my old Air Force bud, Russ - up in Utah!

Do y'all remember back in the day................

.............. when politicians and their apparatchiks would take a break between election cycles and .... you know...... 'govern' for a little while? Apparently those days are gone forever. No time for governing, it's all politics, 24/7 now!!

ABC News has obtained a copy of an Army e--mail that the Dim's National Committee has filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) demand for 'any and all records of communications between all Army departments and agencies of each of the nine potential Republican nominees for President in 2012. And they want the FOIA request demands met by this Friday, even before this mid-term election.

And they ain't talking about current events -- they want every document, memo, letter or other correspondence going back to when these folks were in knee pants, sitting on city councils, or when ever. Talk about casting a wide fishing net hoping to come up with some embarrassing scraps of paper......

I truly wish this ploy of using the FOIA to waste thousands of taxpayer dollars and military man-hours was given front page, above the fold, headlines. And the bill sent to the DNC!

There's a question for you -- will the DNC have to pay for all this research -- why not call your local paper or congressman and ask......?

Here's ABC's whole story.

Humor from my youth == comes to life!!

When I was a lad one of the more popular (and risque) pre-teen jokes went like this:

A young boy rabbit and a young girl rabbit were chased down into their rabbit hole by a hungry fox. The terrified young girl rabbit huddled closed to the little boy rabbit and cried, "Oh my, what shall we do?" The young boy rabbit replied, with a gleam in his eye and smile on his face, "Don't worry sweetie, we'll just stay down here until we outnumber him!"

Now, here it is, 2010, and the headline in the UK's newspaper, The Daily Mail is"

"Mohammed is now the most popular name for baby boys ahead of Jack and Harry"

Now just think about that headline for a minute, Pardners. England, the birth home of my military bride, is one of the most traditional countries in the world. Children are named after the queen, the princes, and their Mums & Dads. Elizabeth, Diana, Olivia, Chloe for the girls. Jack, Harry, Alphie, and William for the boys.

But now, in the Europe of no borders, no passports, no immigration control........ the sign of the times....

"Mohammed has become the most popular name for newborn boys in Britain.

It shot up from third the previous year, overtaking Jack, which had topped the list for the past 14 years but was relegated to third spot."

"We'll just stay down here until we outnumber 'em", the young rabbit said!!

Well now, Ramirez has discovered what Obamanation feeds his TOTUS!!!!

I never heard of smokin' peanut shells......but

Jimmah Carter has got to be smokin' something strange and weird!

In an interview the other day with Chris 'Motormouth' Mathews, Carter opined that if Teddy (the Swimmer) Kennedy hadn't fought him for the nomination, and if Anderson hadn't run as a 3rd Party Candidate.......... well then, he'da whupped ole' Ronald Reagan's butt in the general election back in 1980.

Say What???

Let's see now - Reagan's landslide over Carter was 489 Electoral Votes to 49!! If you gave all of Anderson's votes (popular or their potential electoral votes) to Carter..... ALL OF 'EM...... Carter still loses by more than 100 electoral votes.... Bless his heart -- I hope Amy still talks to him on occasion, cause he obviously needs a friend...... Thirty years of rationalizing his own failure as president....

Cutesy, perky Katy Couric waves Hello to unwashed middle America

Tired of sitting behind that big old anchorette desk? Maybe that's why.......

That’s why Couric has spent recent weeks in Chicago, Philadelphia, Boston and New Brunswick, New Jersey. She is touring what she calls “this great unwashed middle of the country” in an effort to divine the mood of the midterms.

If I take offense with this elitist little overpaid MSM gal, imagine how those folks from Boston, Phillie, and New Jersey feel when they find them selves grouped with us true 'unwashed Middle Americans!'

This may be Ramirez's coldest editorial cartoon of the year - but it's fair!!

Eleanor Clift - Poster Gal for the Main Stream Media

Whether it's watching her screech on the PBS version of Sandbox Screams, aka, The MacLaughlin Group..... or reading her columns in Newsweek..... Eleanor Clift deserves the title of Poster Gal of the Liberal Media!

She rarely makes a coherent statement, mostly just shrill protests... but she outdid herself in her Newsweek column this week.. Flailing away trying to figure out how to make lemonade out of the sour lemons of current accurate polls, she pulls on a "Newsweek Poll" (now there is one you can be confident of) in labored attempt to show how the Dimmocrats can pull these races out of the ditch next Tuesday. In her penultimate paragraph, and closing statement she says:

"At a breakfast with reporters Thursday morning, Rep. Chris Van Hollen, chairman of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, made a strong case that the Democrats have fought the influence of special interests, and that the torrent of money flowing into Republican campaigns from anonymous donors is an effort to block that."

If that sentence makes any sense to you (ignoring the fact that some of us unwashed folks consider unions and all those progressive groups to be special interests), I sure wish you would explain it to this ole' country boy. 'Cause it sure doesn't say a damned thing to me!!! Bless her broken little liberal heart....

Say what???

I was reading an AP news report today about Obamanation's political junket to Rhode Island. It included the comments:

Nor was his greeting totally friendly in Rhode Island where Obama has pointedly declined to endorse his party's candidate for governor.

Obama can "take his endorsement and shove it," declared Democrat Frank Caprio, battling Republican-turned-independent Lincoln Chafee in a gubernatorial race rated tight in the polls. Chafee endorsed Obama during the 2008 campaign for the White House.

In a little more than five hours in the state, Obama was booked for a factory tour and for a pair of fundraisers that party officials said would bring in $500,000.

He said Republicans had driven the economy into a ditch and then stood by and criticized while Democrats pulled it out. Now that progress has been made, he said, "we can't have special interests sitting shotgun. We gotta have middle class families up in front. We don't mind the Republicans joining us. They can come for the ride, but they gotta sit in back."

Now then Pilgrims, there is a hell of a lot I could say right about now -- but I won't. I'll simply ask......supposing that George W Bush made a campaign stop while he was President and said... "We don't mind those Democrats joining us. They can come for the ride, but they gotta sit in the back" !!

Hot Damn, Whee Doggies, and Shazam --- I can imagine the NAALCP, the Dems, Al Sharpie, Jessie the Hustler and a whole passel of MSM pundits jumping all over his face!!

Tell me I'm wrong...! No Sir -- talk about a double standard!!

'Cause I ain't hearing one word of protest about such class/racist BS talk from his BO'ness.....

Washington Post..... Fair and balanced???

I never thought I'd live to see the day that the Washington Post published a fair and balanced editorial on a well know conservative Republican... Even publishing one for a RINO would be a stretch....

But folks, I gotta 'fess up, I read one in the post this week titled "Five Myths about Sarah Palin -- that frankly, I expected to be another hatchet job.. But it was written by Matthew Continetti, a conservative journalist who writes for the Weekly Standard.

Nope -- it wasn't a hatchet job, nor was it bouquet of red roses - but it was a fair, balanced and pretty damned accurate appraisal in my mind.

And printed on the pages of the Washington Post........ OOOOHAH!

Obamanation's Retirement Picture - 2012 ???

Thanx and a tip o' the Stetson to Al of Md..

Friday, October 22, 2010

It's past insane -- it's getting totalitarian out there!!

If you click on the pics on the right to enlarge them, you'll note that they are ship's souvenirs from the Aircraft Carrier, USS George H W Bush named after our 41st President and WWII Naval aviator hero.

What makes these items of clothing interesting is that they were given to a union
worker by his son, proudly serving in the US Navy on the USS Bush, and when he wore them to work, he was summarily fired for refusing to take them off..

Oh yeah, the other thing, - - - the union work that day was building the platform that the TOTUS and the POTUS would be using to speak at the University of Southern California on a Democratic party campaign stop.

Hmmmmm

TOTUS (Teleprompter of the U.S.) to speak to India's Parliament

It is interesting to note that for the first time in India's long history, the Parliament will be addressed by a TOTUS on November 8th.

Ah yes, the POTUS will be there to move his lips, but the TOTUS will provide the message apparently. Scheduled to address the Parliament for only twenty minutes, the TOTUS, a back up First Assistant TOTUS, and Tertiary TOTUS will ensure the Obamanation isn't forced to speak extemporaneously.

Shucks folks, the Bam man had teleprompters moved into a grade school class room before he addressed them this summer -- why should we expect less when addressing India's Parliament.

I wonder if he'll have those styrofoam Greek pillars moved in as well?

Go here for the whole embarrASSing story!

Remember "The Omen"?

Apparently Damian is alive and well and living in North Carolina.... this from AP news today:

NC student faces charges over exploding pen

From AP News

10/21/2010

A North Carolina teenager who authorities say brought an exploding pen to his school is in jail after his home was emptied of explosive chemicals easily found at pharmacies and hardware stores.

The 16-year-old faces several charges including felonies. His bond was set at $500,000.

He was arrested Monday after an exploding pen burned the hand and sent fragments into the arm of a fellow student at their Charlotte alternative school. Three firefighters later suffered burns as they tested a substance in his home.

The boy's grandmother told multiple media outlets the teen is a bit of a loner whose favorite subject is science. She says she thinks he was trying to stage a prank.

I'm not sure I'd like this lad living next door. Note that AP felt it necessary to point out that 'Damian' was already attending an 'alternative' school....... ooooohhhh!

Eric Allie seems to have his finger on the lever.....of the pulse of America!

What the hell is going on in my country?

I was watching the evening news on Fox last night when they broadcast a segment on 'mortgage modifications' in California.. I have been curious how mortgages can be 'modified' by two-thirds or more and still pay off the mortgage without getting into my pocket - so I watched.

I damned near fell out of my chair when these couple of lines came up:

"People are able to come here, and in the same day, restructure their mortgages saving $500, sometimes over $1,000 a month," says NACA's charismatic leader, Bruce Marks.

We saw another homeowner, Althena Peet, actually embrace her lending counselor, tears streaming down her face. "My monthly payments were $1,888 per month, and its down now to $687.64. That's with 2 percent interest. I just can't believe it," Peet exclaimed.

While Althena gets a great deal, another homeowner with the exact same mortgage who paid his bills would be shelling out that $1,888 a month, leaving some to question whether such foreclosure rescues are fair, or wise.

Among those with concerns is professor Paul Habibi with UCLA’s Anderson School of Management. "It's not fair," he says. "It penalizes those who play by the rules, and those who are in dire need and may have not played by the rules and got into mortgages they can't afford, are now able to get some help. It's kind of the old adage of taxing success and subsidizing losses. We are seeing that prevail in the housing market."

Say what? Since I was still having trouble grasping the mechanics of this 'modification' process and the article really didn't get into any detail --- I clicked over to the comments --- a couple of them explained the workings -- and that sounded even scarier... but then, one of the commenters also threw in the 'Membership Pledge' in NACA that home owners must sign to be eligible....

I'm here to tell you, these NACA folks make ACORN look like the Baptist Church... Naw, that ain't fair to the Baptists. Let's just say it looks like ACORN with a new mask on it's face! I won't belabor the issue -- I'll link those of you who care to the main article, and after you have finished scanning it - I suggest you Link on to the 'Comments' at the top and scan thru a few of those ----

The new slogan in this country is soon gonna be "Following the rules - is just for fools!"

Go here for the Fox Article.

Score another point for insane political correctness!!

Juan Williams, long time NPR new analyst and darling of the Left Wing -- has been summarily canned, as in fired, axed, given the sack....... by NPR news! His sin? You ain't gonna believe it!

But first let me point out that I am not a Juan Williams fan....... and usually agree with only about 10% of what he says on any topic - be it government take overs, race relations, taxes, schools, whatever..... He toes the leftest line and has been a good worker on the Liberal's plantation.

However, in a discussion about Muslims attacking the twin towers, when asked by Bill O'Reilly on his thoughts, Williams responded with pure common sense:

"Look, Bill, I'm not a bigot. You know the kind of books I've written about the civil rights movement in this country. But when I get on the plane, I got to tell you, if I see people who are in Muslim garb and I think, you know, they are identifying themselves first and foremost as Muslims, I get worried. I get nervous."

And for those few words, NPR fired him forthwith!!! Think about that folks. These are dangerous times and the Political Correctness Thought Police on the Left are making it even more dangerous every day!

Brits to slash 500,000 gob'mint jobs!!!

That's the headlines this morning -- when asked what I thought about such a budget cutting draconian step.... I immediately replied........

"It's a small step, but a fine start!"

Surely we can do better over here on this side of the pond. Shall we start with a million?

Our troop's frustration level rises in Afghanistan...

Our G.I.'s in Afghanistan are starting to share their frustration. They fired Gen McCrystal for venting -- are they gonna fire everybody in the 4th Infantry as well..... ?? Very pointed item in Washington Examiner.

"If they use rockets to hit the [forward operating base] we can't shoot back because they were within 500 meters of the village. If they shoot at us and drop their weapon in the process we can't shoot back," said Spc. Charles Brooks, 26, a U.S. Army medic with 1st Battalion, 4th Infantry Regiment, in Zabul province.

Watch towers at the corner of their base camp had to be dismantled because they intruded on villager's privacy: "We have to take down our towers because it offends them and now the Taliban can set up mortars and we can't see them," Brooks added, with disgust.

....said Spc. Matthew "Silver" Fuhrken, 25, from Watertown, N.Y. "I'm sick of people trying to cover up what's really going on over here. They won't let us do our job. I don't care if they try to kick me out for what I'm saying -- war is war and this is no war. I don't know what this is."

You can almost touch and feel the frustration in this article --especially now that there is talk about 'cutting a deal' with the Taliban... for the brief, but telling column. Click here....

'Retiring' Senator Dingy Harry Reid owes Chilean miners an apology...

The other day at a Nevada Rally attended by Obamanation and three or four other die hard liberals, Dingy Harry compared BO to the Chilean miners. His metaphor fell as flat as the rest of his campaign.

First of all the Chilean miners were trapped far underground by a tunnel collapse while they were hard at work...... Obamanation started off at the top of a mountain and started burying this country in debt --- till the lights went out! And even then he wasn't smart enough to quit digging the hole deeper!!

Socialized Medicine Fans.............

.... should be impressed with Greece's version. They don't have Death Panels, they have Amputation Panels!!

Greek Health System Opts for Amputation as Money-Saver

This Saturday, one of Greece’s most respected newspapers, To Vima, reported that the nation’s largest government health insurance provider would no longer pay for special footwear for diabetes patients. Amputation is cheaper, says the Benefits Division of the state insurance provider.

Maybe some of our fellow Americans pushing for Obamacare ought to look a little closer at Canada, England, Greece and other countries with government run socialized medicine schemes........!! You can't kick it out afterwards, if you ain't got a foot!!

Do you reckon that if a member of our 'Ruling Class' suffer from diabetes, that Amputation will be their only option? Naw, neither do I!!

I was gonna write a few words about that Chile mine incident.....

.... but this professional guy at FOX seems to have narrowed it down to a few strong words!

What Obama Could Learn About Leadership From Chile's President Pinera

By Martin Sieff

What a man is this President Sebastian Pinera of Chile! He believes in God and is not afraid to say so. He doesn't care about being ridiculed by the American Civil Liberties Union or its Chilean equivalent: He orders church bells to be rung to celebrate the amazing, truly miraculous rescue of 33 miners trapped underground for more than two months in his country's San Jose mine.

Pinera doesn't give endlessly long speeches that are packed with so many weightless, meaningless clichés that they rise out of sight and out of memory as soon as the worthless, empty words are uttered. When Sebastian Pinera simply says, “We are not the same Chile we were 69 days ago,” he brings tears to the eyes of millions of people far beyond the borders of his own admirable country.

In other words, Sebastian Pinera is not Barack Obama. Pinera is a real leader for the 21st century. He is a real man.

President Pinera did not sit back passively when the miners were trapped. He did not show his so-called, metrosexual, 21st century cool head and so-called “emotional balance” by showing no passion. He felt it and he showed it.

Pinera put his presidency on the line by committing himself publicly to make sure those miners were rescued come what may. How Rahm Emanuel must have laughed.

But did we get any leadership like that when BP (Yes – that’s BRITISH Petroleum, or maybe we should start calling them RUSSIAN Petroleum (RP) since they're investing so heavily in Siberia now) was choking the Gulf of Mexico with an unstoppable deep sea oil leak? The president of the United States you’ll recall, did nothing, absolutely nothing, for months except pout his mouth and grit his teeth – his usual substitute for any effective action on anything.

Obama didn't call in the best experts personally from around the world. He didn't put the vast resources of the United States government or assemble the unmatchable expertise of the U.S. oil industry, the best in the world, on the job. He just sat back passively and let RP -- sorry, BP – make things worse.

Barack Obama and his shameless acolytes like economist and New York Times columnist Paul Krugman, The Washington Post's Richard Cohen and Newsweek's Jonathan Alter, have redefined democratic leadership as pious, whining, passive, dignified ineptitude. The only time Obama expresses any passion at all is when he’s whimpering about how all those big bad conservative talk show commentators are being so horrible to him.

The Chilean people in their democratically-expressed wisdom picked a brave and magnificent leader as their president. We got an empty suit who makes Jimmy Carter look like Rambo. Can we swap?

What can is say --- but Hear - Hear!, Mr Seiff !! Hear Hear!!

Joltin' Joe Biden - "Obama's brain is bigger than his skull!"

Good ole' 'Bite me' Biden -- he gaffes again..... in a rally in Delaware supporting the Dimmocrat he said............ Oh here - watch it for your self it's (fortunately) very short!

Coming soon..... to a neighborhood near you.......

City Council of New York passed a new law which will require all new toilets (effective July 2012) to be fitted with two levers for flushing: The first, a low discharge setting, to flush liquid wastes. The other, a higher discharge setting to flush solid wastes. No matter, that they are going to cost more or fail more often, the human excrement experts on the City Council (experience pays I reckon) have so determined.

I wonder if they will insist the levers be labeled "Number One" and "Number Two"... that seems appropriate.....

Continuing in the firestorm of saving the planet one leak at a time (pun intended), these micro-managing pencil necked, pin heads have also decided that: Any water fountain installed for the public (customers) use, MUST be equipped with two water discharges: The first is the original push the button and sip the little shot of water that we all know. The second - there MUST be a separate spout for filling containers! Apparently one of the pin-heads lacked the necessary hand-eye coordination to fill her water bottle and got water on her tax dollar provided dress.

Now think about that one, Pilgrims. You privately own a building, store or playground, you install a water fountain to provide refreshment AT NO COST, to users --- and now the NY City Council says you have to provide a faucet to aid them fill their buckets!

I'm not even gonna question why everybody under the age of 40 has a bottle hanging around their neck 24/7 these days, but where in God's good name, did it become the law enforced responsibility to provide faucets for them metro-sexual limp wristed folks? If they are stupid enough to pay $8.00 per gallon for tap water in little plastic bottles --- let 'em get their own!!

Do you reckon the city will hire thousands of inspectors to make sure that folks don't push Button #2 when they only did #1? Maybe they'll install little bells on the ones in public restrooms, so the restroom valet can drop a dime on 'em if he hears the wrong number of chimes....

What a world! Go here for the story if you don't believe me!

Annie's taking aim again - this time at our NON-Nam' vet.....

I haven't Ann's whole column in a while, but just in case somebody from the Nutmeg State might tune in --- I thought she'd wouldn't mind.........

There's a Reason Why They Call Him "Dick"

By Ann Coulter

10/13/2010

If the Bush administration ever treated terrorism suspects the way Connecticut Attorney General Richard Blumenthal treats law-abiding citizens and small businesses, even conservatives would have blanched.

This activist, interventionist Democrat -- like his identical, slightly less oily twin, Eliot Spitzer -- decided at age 5 he was going to be a U.S. senator and then the first Jewish president. And he doesn't care how many lives he has to destroy to get there.

Currently, Blumenthal is running for the U.S. Senate against Linda McMahon in Connecticut. He must be stopped.

Even his ideological ally, The New York Times, thinks he must be stopped. That paper ran a front-page expose on Blumenthal's lies about having served in Vietnam, violating a century-old Times tradition of never printing information unflattering to a Democrat.

Blumenthal apologized for lying about being in Vietnam, saying, "I take full responsibility." Who else was he considering blaming? The voices in his head?

Among Blumenthal's taxpayer-funded citizen-persecution projects was the one he waged against Gina Kolb, owner of Computer Plus Center in East Hartford.

After selling $17.2 million worth of computers and servers to the state in 2001, Kolb found herself being sued by Blumenthal for $1.75 million for allegedly overcharging the state $500,000.

Publicity-whore Blumenthal sent out an accusatory press release about Kolb, saying: "No supplier should be permitted to shortchange or overcharge the state without severe consequences."

Soon thereafter, Kolb was arrested at her home on seven first-degree larceny charges, courtesy of Connecticut's crazily hyperactive attorney general.

Wonder why you have a $4 billion deficit, Nutmeggers? Blumenthal's endless investigations into responsible, law-abiding citizens like Kolb have now cost more than the entire Iraq War. (And that's just the cost of the paper for Blumenthal's 12 billion press releases!)

A court dismissed all charges against Kolb and her company in 2008. But not before this female businesswoman had her company completely shattered by the pathologically ambitious attorney general.

I'm sorry, I know you need to be on television every single day, Dick, but that's not enough of a reason to destroy innocent citizens' lives, much less use taxpayer money to do so.

Kolb was far from the only innocent citizen persecuted by Blumenthal. The reason we know her story is that, instead of moving as far away from Connecticut as she could, Kolb turned around and sued the state for violating her constitutional rights.

The jury agreed, awarding her $18 million for Blumenthal's "pattern of conduct" that destroyed Kolb's business and impugned her integrity.

Noticeably, the attorney general who spends most of his waking hours phoning reporters, holding press conferences and issuing press releases did not make a peep about Kolb's total vindication in court, despite his having earlier blackened her name. Perhaps he was busy attending a fake Vietnam veterans' reunion that day.

To the contrary, Blumenthal continued using the power of his office to persecute Kolb. This is the problem with government officials using taxpayer money to further their own political ambitions: No one could tell him to cut his losses and stop harassing Kolb.

Blumenthal filed a blizzard of motions -- at taxpayer expense -- appealing the jury's verdict in favor of Kolb. One of them finally succeeded in getting a judge to reduce the damages to Kolb, who presumably is now living in Hawaii under an assumed name so Blumenthal doesn't start making crank calls to her.

(She should go to Vietnam! Blumenthal will never find her there!)

Connecticut taxpayers spent millions of dollars harassing this innocent businesswoman, successfully destroying a profitable, job-creating computer company in the state and one law-abiding taxpayer in the process. Thanks, Dick!

Blumenthal's 24-hour publicity office managed to produce a gleaming press release on the reduction of Kolb's damages award, in which he vowed to "continue fighting to overturn this verdict."

Asked by Charles Kochakian of the New Haven Register about the case and whether Blumenthal ever released a statement when a victim of his legal harassment was vindicated, Blumenthal essentially said: No one is ever vindicated. Just because no wrongdoing was found, he said, doesn't mean wrongdoing didn't occur.

Welcome to Connecticut, where you're guilty until proved innocent (and you can never be proved innocent).

Most shockingly, Blumenthal said he would never issue a press release about one of his publicly accused targets being vindicated because "new evidence may well emerge."

"New evidence may well emerge" that Dick Blumenthal is a child molesting ax murderer. But until it does, no one has a right to say so. Hello? ACLU? Heard of Dick Blumenthal?

Everyone in Connecticut knows Blumenthal's name, largely on account of his daily press conferences for nearly two decades as attorney general, announcing lawsuits to combat every minor inconvenience. Arby's served jalapeno poppers at 114 degrees? Blumenthal is holding a press conference at noon!

This hyperactive, publicity-mad lunatic is constantly announcing new lawsuits far beyond the purview of his office, like some New England version of Hugo Chavez. This won him the title: "Worst Attorney General in the Country" from the Competitive Enterprise Institute.

He's sued power companies for contributing to "global warming," asking the courts to impose cap and trade -- a bill so absurd neither Obama nor the Democratic Senate will touch it.

He's sued gun companies, trying to hold them responsible for criminal acts by third parties involving guns.

He's sued tobacco companies so he could extort millions of dollars for his old law firm and other legal cronies overseeing the shakedown -- I mean "settlement."

Blumenthal is now in a tight race with Linda McMahon for the U.S. Senate. I understand why Connecticut would like to get rid of him, but that's no reason to foist this menace on the rest of the country. How about sending him to Vietnam?

By the way, Pardners, a whole passel of folks don't know why Connecticut (Constitution State) is better know by it's nick-name..... the "Nutmeg State". I am sure you do, but for those who don't, Connecticuter's earned the sobriquet, the Nutmeg State because it's early inhabitants had the reputation of being so ingenuous {read: first class liars} and shrewd that the made and sold wooden nutmegs as fake real nutmegs......

Perhaps, why Blumenthal polls so well there, do you reckon?

Finally, a candidate we can agree on.... ???

You'd have to live on another planet to not know that Loser Levi Johnston has announced his candidacy for Mayor of Wassilla, AK. Some fans of his have run an ad in the Wasilla newspaper on his behalf.

I'd add an 11th reason:

11. Because it'll keep the little shite in Alaska and off my damned television screen.

The twit has already had more of his fifteen minutes of fame than he deserves.........

Update to VFW Post below.........

If you haven't read my VFW positing right below -- please read that first and then come back here.... otherwise this post won't make sense --- and we don't want that to happen!!

Breaking news! The powers that be in the VFW, the National Commander, the Senior Vice Commander and the Junior Vice Commander (who thought up that title?) appear to be as incensed as the VFW membership over the VFW PAC's recent endorsements. (Or perhaps their telephones and E-mail boxes overfloweth?)

Not just the flagrant bombshell for Bully Boxer, but also those across the country for left leaning Dimmocrat incumbents over conservative challengers. Tricky Ricky Klien over Colonel Allen West in Florida is just one of several.... Apparently, the PAC committee is more interested in snuggling than struggling..

The good news is, the current serving elected Commanders are questioning the continued existence of the PAC.......!!

The BAD news is, they plan to bring it to the floor at their next convention IN AUGUST 2012!! Jumpin' Jaesus! That sounds about as weak livered, and bureaucratic as an civilian blue ribbon committee in history!! NEXT AUGUST?

Why not stand tall, call an emergency meeting of the VFW Executive Committee TOMORROW, meet and, if it's decided to be necessary - RETRACT THESE MUSH HEADED ENDORSEMENTS, IMMEDIATELY AND PUBLICLY !!!

For those looking to duck and cover under the tent of the national convention, afraid that it might be a mistake, I would remind them of the old military axiom --- 'IF YOU ARE NOT MAKING A MISTAKE EVERY NOW AND THEN, YOU ARE NOT MAKING ENOUGH DECISIONS!""

HOOAH!!!!!

Do you hear that RIPPING sound?

That's the sound of VFW membership cards being torn in half across the country. As a retired Air Force guy, I regret that I tore mine up years ago, because I can't tear it up now. The reason for this ripping and shredding --- the VFW's inner circle once again - flying in the face of common sense and intelligence and endorsing........... are you ready......endorsing,... "Call me Senator, not Ma'am" , Barbara Boxer of California.

Yup, proving once again the brilliance behind O'Sullivan's First Law, the VFW PAC opted for what they describe as the 'friendly incumbent' over the common sense challenger, Carly Fiorina. Here is a sitting senator who has an eighteen year record of soaring mediocrity, dazzling ineptness, and high marks for failure to understand the ways and needs of the US Military, who chastizes a uniformed general for being polite on national TV, and the VFW endorses her.

There was a time in my several careers where I would send serious checks each year to the PAC's that represented my field of endeavor, or hobbies. But then as this insidious 'friendly incumbent rule' kept raising it's ugly head - I dropped out. I now decide for myself who shall receive my political donations --- not some air headed committee who just 'follow the rules' and pay no attention to their doings.

For those of you who haven't bumped heads with this 'friendly incumbent' brick wall, let me explain briefly. If an incumbent running for reelection has a voting record on one or two very narrow issues favored by the PAC, then regardless of the quality of the challenger, the incumbent gets the nod....... and the endorsement.

Look around this year-- even the NRA admits to endorsing over fifty Dimmocrats (who rightfully belong home flipping hamburgers for their first real job experience) around the country because they happened to vote 'correctly' on one or two identified key votes. Never mind, how they voted on TARP, PORKULUS, OBAMACARE, and a host of other neo-socialist ideas emanating from the White House.....

As several of my Vet friends have said, "Goodbye VFW", "Thank God for the American Legion, so I still have a place to go have a beer with my friends."

At least ole' Pecoz can't tear up his AARP card this year --- I tore it up back when they prostituted theyselves and publicly endorsed Obamacare in exchange for continuing to peddle their supplementary insurance to their members.......

My wallet keeps getting thinner as I rip these membership cards up and throw them away.

President of ALL THE PEOPLE??

I've been watching Obamanation attacking all things American this last couple of years and have got to be wondering --- Folks say we need to support him, right or wrong, because he is President of all Americans..... but --

In the last few months, he has launched personal, vituperative, mean spirited attacks and encouraged his cabal of socialists to attack:

- THE TEA PARTY MOVEMENT - a group of free spirited and independent Americans who truly fear for the loss of our country as we know it. And whose only desire is to limit the federal government and return to the Constitution of the US (which every elected official swears to uphold and protect).

- THE U.S. CHAMBER OF COMMERCE - an organization which has represented the free enterprise system that created America as we know it, and that has set the standard for the world.

- AMERICANS FOR PROSPERITY - a grass roots organization of over one million Americans concerned about the direction the country is taking. His cronies are even seeking out donors names and addresses for.....................revenge?

- HEALTH INSURERS - attacking them individually and as a group.

- COMPANIES THAT PROVIDE HEALTH INSURANCE TO THEIR EMPLOYEES - Like that evil McDonald company.....

- OIL COMPANIES - They keep the wheels of industry turning but to BO, they are destroying the planet.

- DRUG COMPANIES - For the prices they charge and the harm they do. Say what?

- COAL COMPANIES - half the electricity generated in the United States comes from coal -- which half of the country would he like to shut down?

- DOCTORS AND THE AMA - Why treat a sore throat when you can charge more to remove the tonsils?

- FOX NEWS - 'We don't need no steenkin' 'fair & balanced' news -- we need it the controlled, Cronkite, MSM slanted way.'

Color me paranoid, but does anybody else see a pattern here? It appears to me that the only two groups not under attack are UNION OFFICIALS and AMBULANCE CHASERS..... Wonder why that is?

Thanks and a tip o' the Stetson to DIRECTORBLUE for the heads up.

N.O.W. National Organization of Whores?

Governor wannabe (again) Moonbeam Brown of California publicly calls his lady opponent a 'WHORE' ............ and before the sun even sets.......... N.O.W. is so incensed they, they, they ran up to the nearest microphone and endorsed............................ the no class chauvinist, Jerry Brown.

I dunno about you Pilgrims, but this ole' boy has been totally confused this year trying to find any Republican lady that the National Organization of WOMEN has endorsed. I guess they just want to keep those entrepreneurial, self made women and mothers, pregnant, barefoot and voting Dimmocrat..... go figure...

Suspicions Confirmed!!!!!

California EPA Over Estimates Pollution Levels by 340%

California grossly miscalculated pollution levels in a scientific analysis used to toughen the state's clean-air standards, and scientists have spent the past several months revising data and planning a significant weakening of the landmark regulation, The Chronicle has found.

The pollution estimate in question was too high - by 340 percent, according to the California Air Resources Board, the state agency charged with researching and adopting air quality standards. The estimate was a key part in the creation of a regulation adopted by the Air Resources Board in 2007, a rule that forces businesses to cut diesel emissions by replacing or making costly upgrades to heavy-duty, diesel-fueled off-road vehicles used in construction and other industries.

The staff of the powerful and widely respected Air Resources Board said the overestimate is largely due to the board calculating emissions before the economy slumped, which halted the use of many of the 150,000 diesel-exhaust-spewing vehicles in California. Independent researchers, however, found huge overestimates in the air board's work on diesel emissions and attributed the flawed work to a faulty method of calculation - not the economic downturn.

The overestimate, which comes after another bad calculation by the air board on diesel-related deaths that made headlines in 2009, prompted the board to suspend the regulation this year while officials decided whether to weaken the rule.

So, bottom line, a California Agency (yeah, an agency - not a legislature) cook the books to get new rules and laws put into effect. Thousands of jobs lost, millions of dollars lost in the private sector --- and the only gob'mint reaction is: "Oh never mind!"

Why aren't heads (both bureaucrat and political) rolling??

Why isn't this being reported by the broad main stream media?

Would someone tell Obamanation that the budget is in the tank and sinking.....

In addition to the TARP and the Porkulus bills putting our grandchildren in hock -- it seems that the Dem's - minding both houses of congress and the White House haven't heard that times are tough. Can you believe they are spending MORE money than ever on regular items?

"Basic government spending rose by 9 percent in fiscal 2010, driving the country to a $1.291 trillion deficit down $125 billion from 2009, but still the second-largest hole on record, the Congressional Budget Office said Thursday.

CBO said the 9 percent rise in spending for defense, social programs, entitlements and interest on the debt was "somewhat faster than in recent years" a stark evaluation at a time when President Obama and Congress are working to convince voters they are pursuing a fiscally frugal course in Washington."

What do you think, Pilgrim?

Are you feeling lucky or do you reckon you'll find somewhere else to park and run that errand?

NJ Senator Lautenberger -- Poster Boy for Anti-full time congress!!

The whole country was shocked recently when a young, gay Rutgers student committed suicide after being outed by his room mate on an Internet streaming video.

The jerk roommate and his female cohort have had several charges filed against them as investigations continue to find any other charges to lay on them. That being said, never one to waste a publicity seeking moment, Lautenberg decided to pile on.

"Colleges should adopt a code of conduct that prohibits bullying and harassment in the wake of the suicide of a Rutgers University student whose gay sexual encounter in his dorm room was streamed online, U.S. Sen. Frank Lautenberg said at a town meeting on campus.

Lautenberg, D-N.J., told the crowd gathered Wednesday night in memory of 18-year-old freshman Tyler Clementi that he would introduce such legislation. Clementi jumped off the George Washington Bridge into the Hudson River on Sept. 22 after the intimate images of him with another man were broadcast. His body was identified days later."

Now I don't know about you folks, but with unemployment skyrocketing, national debt skyrocketing, two wars being fought, the dollar value dropping like a stone ---- doesn't it seem like our congress has enough on their plate without conducting the necessary hearings and spending the weeks and money necessary to create still another bill on college 'bullying'?

Here is Texas, our state legislature only meets for six months every second year -- between creating and passing a bi-annual budget, and other laws necessary for effective state governance..... they just ain't got time for all this posturing and bovine excrement that those full time trough feeders have.

Maybe there is a message here..................??

BTW, doesn't Lautenberg's whole act in this unhappy incident seem to come out of a whole bunch of B movie plots with grandstanding politicians ....?
