And, as if anymore proof is needed that a wild Olympic atmosphere permeates B.C.'s largest city, now there's an apparent condom shortage. That's right. As you read this, an emergency shipment of condoms is desperately making its way across Canada to the West Coast city. Health officials in Vancouver have already provided 100,000 free condoms to the roughly 7,000 ahtletes and officials at the Games. That's about 14 condoms per person. But as of Wednesday, those supplies started running dangerously low. So naturally, the Canadian Foundation for AIDS research decided to step and make sure there were no hitches in Olympic action. "When we heard about the condom shortage in Vancouver, we felt it important to respond immediately," said Kerry Whiteside, CANFAR's Executive Director. The organization assembled three large boxes of about 8,500 condoms, much to the relief of libidos at the Olympic Village. They're expected to arrive on Thursday. Free condoms first started to be distributed at the Olympics in Barcelona at the 1992 Games. This appears to be the first time that a shortage has struck the Games. Who knew 'curling' had such a connotation??

There is something about Sarah!

You can't pick up a newspaper or magazine, surf the Internet or watch a TV talking heads show --- without the conversation turning to Governor Sarah Palin. Whether it's good or bad, praising or bashing, her she is ever present in out daily lives.

I don't reckon y'all have been waiting with bated breath to hear my take on this feminine force-field, but since this is my Blog - I think I'll share my thoughts and you can choose whether to read them , and more to the point, whether to agree or disagree with them.

No matter what an American's politics are, everybody knows Sarah Palin! Her name recognition numbers are higher than the Speaker of the House, ole' Botox Face, or the Senate Majority Leader, you know - that whiny little dude in glasses. Her approval numbers on the right side of the political spectrum rival Obamanation's on the far left,

She is only 46 years old, and yet has the political resume of a much older person - being the youngest governor in the history of Alaska will do that for you. She is a best selling author who draws more crowds at a book store in Peoria than watch Katy Couric on the evening news. Or Chris Mathews all week! That's all part of the good news!

The bad news is that for good or for bad, Palin is a lightning rod for both the nanny state loving left, and the 'moderate, pencil necked, pocket protector wearing' RINO population of the right. She walked away from her Governorship just to prevent the Alaskan ship of state from being under a constant state of siege. And of course, to free herself up to fight back! And fighting back she is!

Now then - what's next for this lady dynamo? In my not so humble opinion, I think Palin is going to be on the political radar for years to come - no wisp in the wind, she! Although she hasn't seen fit to share her plans with Ole Pecoz, I expect a scenario about as follows. It may be wishful thinking on my part - but what the hey!!

In football, in many passing plays there is a designated receiver and a DECOY receiver. The decoy receiver makes many suggestive and anticipatory moves while the actual planned receiver runs a quiet steady route down field. While the defense keeps their eye on the decoy, the designated receiver remains on the periphery and makes the catch and the 1st down yardage or score.

Sarah Palin will make an excellent decoy runner for the Republican Party these next three years. She will shine on the talk circuit, zig over to support a lagging candidate, zag over to raise funds for the party, and continue to be a mother and wife at the same time. All the time building points within and outside her party, and it's Tea Party supporters. She will not announce her non-candidacy for the presidential nomination until the last possible minute simply because that would take the laser arrows of the main stream media and the left off of her and onto the Party's nominee. I 'spect I know who that's gonna be - but that's for another day.

Now then, if the Republican candidate wins in 2012, and it will take an 'O' miracle for that not to happen - she will accept a Cabinet level job, either Interior, Energy, or Education to build her resume and because it's in her nature to want to contribute to this great country. In 2016, Governor Palin will be only 52, in 2020 - just 56!!

Margaret Thatcher lost her first couple of elections in 1950 - and had to grow and learn. She became the first female Prime Minister England in 1979 at the age of 54. Sarah Palin won her early elections and became the youngest and first female Governor of Alaska in 2006, when she was only 42.

You can take it to the bank Pilgrims, the first female President of the United States will be former Governor, Sarah Palin in 2016 or 2020!

I read this morning that last Friday night's TV ratings showed CNN had a grand total of 85,000 viewers in the 8-11 PM time frame. I have problem with numbers sometimes, but I reckon that means either:

- One out of every 1175 homes with cable access was tuned to CNN, or

- Every home in Reno NV tuned in and nobody else in the country did!

Kinda reminds you of that book title, 'Dead Man Walking'..........

It's a Bird, It's a Plane, It's another Dem bailing out!

Time to look at these numbers again --

Cause they sure ain't getting any better!

Health care department breaches privacy

The Department of Health Care Services said Monday it has breached the privacy of 49,352 people who receive adult day-care services from the state.

The department said that letters it mailed a week ago to 49,352 Medi-Cal beneficiaries wrongly included each patient's Social Security number on their address labels.

The department said the security incident took place Feb. 1, but it was only told about it on Thursday. It started to notify the 49,352 beneficiaries about the problem over the weekend.

"At this point, there is no evidence that unauthorized parties have acquired or accessed beneficiary personal information," the department said in a prepared statement.

DHCS officials said they regretted the breach, which has so far cost the state $50,000. It blamed itself and a private vendor for the problem mailings.

Karen Johnson, a deputy director at the department, said officials are investigating and will figure out who pays for what when they get the findings.

On Saturday, the department said it began sending notification letters to the 49,352 beneficiaries alerting them to the security breach.

The letter also advised beneficiaries how to protect themselves from identity theft by contacting the three credit reporting agencies and placing a fraud alert on their files.

Department of Health Care Services Director David Maxwell-Jolly said the breach occurred when officials sent a notice to beneficiaries, entitled: "Notice of Change in Medical Necessity and Eligibility Criteria for Authorization of ADHC Services."

In preparing a mailing list, beneficiaries' Social Security numbers were mistakenly included on mailing labels.

"We have implemented additional safeguards governing the release of Social Security numbers, and our mailing vendor has implemented additional quality control measures to prevent such errors from occurring in the future," Maxwell-Jolly added.

"We regret this error. We will redouble our efforts to ensure that all beneficiary information entrusted to the state is aggressively and appropriately protected," he added.

The SSNs didn't have spaces or dashes and may have appeared to be a random nine-digit number to people other than recipients, the department said.

And although I have taken almost every college level psychology course offered, I'm no psychologist either! But I am an experienced 'people' person after 50 years of supervising folks in both the military and the civilian environments.....

Thus, I'm not going to claim to be able diagnose Obamanation's personality problems like so many other do. But I tell you what Pilgrims, if you look at this cold, cold picture of a man being kissed by his wife after speaking at a Prayer Breakfast last month, you are seeing a poster boy for some disorder.

Some have called it 'Narcissism'. A quick Google of that word will bring all manner of definitions and symptoms. A couple of them even mention what you are seeing in this picture between a man and his wife.

Others explain many other behavioral patterns exhibited by this man-child. You do the Googling, you look at this picture, you decide for yourself what manner of man we have sitting in the Oval Office............

And in the words of that great American thinker, Elmer Fudd, "Be vewy vewy afwaid!"

Sleepy Dog Story....

Here is a sleepy dog story that one of my retired Air Force Bud's passed along, I thought I'd share it with y'all.

Here is the story of a smart dog who knew where to go for a nap.

The story told to me goes like this:
An older, tired-looking dog wandered into a yard. (The one in the above pix. is over 10 years old)
The home owner could tell from the dog’s collar and well-fed belly that she had a home and was well taken care of. And really wondered why the dog was paying her a visit.

The dog calmly came over to the home owner and offered a paw and in return, received a few pats on her head. And then the dog calmly walked into the house, and found a cool area by a patio overlooking the garden. And curled up and fell sound asleep, with an occasional snore.

An hour later she went to the door and was let out. And trotted happily away.

The next day she was back, wagging her short tail and dancing about the yard. Then she walked inside and resumed her spot in the patio area and again slept for about an hour.
This continued off and on for several weeks.
One day, the home owner, who was becoming attached to the dog, pinned a note to her collar: ‘I would like to find out who the owner of this wonderful sweet dog is and ask if you are aware that almost every afternoon your dog comes to my house for a nap.”

The next day the dog arrived for her nap, with a different note pinned to her collar:

"She lives in a house with 6 children, 2 under the age of 3 and she is just trying to catch up on her sleep.

Can I come with her tomorrow?"

ICE Agents Now NFL "Who Dat" police.....

Y'all probably think that the Fed's Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) teams are busy guarding our borders and trying to apprehend illegal bad guys, don't you.. Not so, it appears that they have been assigned as tax payer paid 'rent-a-cops' to the NFL to prevent 'ner do wells from selling NFL knock-offs and national sporting events.

This week it happens to be 'Who Dat' tee-shirts and paraphernalia in N'awlins. Next week, they will probably be coming to a sporting even near you..

Then one day, it occurred to him that not all corporations were evil and greedy, and that perhaps some of the fault lie with gob'mint and other causes. So he started investigating those shenanigans.... and reporting 'em..... but not for long. Liberal ABC handed him his walking papers and he moved on....

We knew it was coming............

The city of Phoenix has decided to levy a 2% tax on food (yes, milk, meat, vegetables and other food) on the citizens of their fair city. The only alternative would have been to cut city spending!

Imagine that!

I'll give you one guess as to the political party affiliation of Mayor Phil Gordon of that fair city? Give up? To tough a question? Okay -- I'll give you a couple of hints: He worships the Donkey, and his favorite song is, "Happy Days are Here Again".

The city council's actions have been firmly endorsed by only one group........ the Phoenix city employee unions - police, fire, etc. 'Without this tax, we might have to lay someone off!' (or words to that effect).

But fret not Pilgrims, when those tax paying folks checking out of the Phoenix grocery stores are standing in line.... they'll have the added thrill of watching that shopper ahead of them with the steaks, gourmet frozen foods et al, not being subjected to this food sales tax - it won't apply to them. They'll be able to use that saved money on their beer, wine, and cigarette purchases.

Is this a great Country or what?

Under the 'Law of Unintended Consequences', watch the headlines later in the year when the leaders (?) of Phoenix wring their hands because 'snow birds' are no longer coming to Phoenix, Phoenix citizens are going across city lines to shop on their weekly grocery trips, and jobs are lost, stores are closed.

A letter to the POTUS

A copy of this letter some Pilgrim wrote about Obamanation's claim to Muslim heritage in this country came over my transom last night... I thought I'd share it with y'all.

Barack OBAMA said, in his Cairo speech: "I know, too that Islam has always been a part of America 's story."

AN AMERICAN CITIZEN'S RESPONSE:

Dear Mr. Obama:

Were those Muslims that were in America when the Pilgrims first landed? Funny, I thought they were Native American Indians.

Were those Muslims that celebrated the first Thanksgiving day? Sorry again, those were Pilgrims and Native American Indians.

Can you show me one Muslim signature on the United States Constitution?

Declaration of Independence ? Bill of Rights? Didn't think so.

Did Muslims fight for this country's freedom from England ? No.

Did Muslims fight during the Civil War to free the slaves in America ? No, they did not. In fact, Muslims to this day are still the largest traffickers in human slavery. Your own 'half brother' a devout Muslim still advocates slavery himself, even though Muslims of Arabic descent refer to black Muslims as "pug nosed slaves.." Says a lot of what the Muslim world really thinks of your family's "rich Islamic heritage" doesn't it Mr. Obama?

Where were Muslims during the Civil Rights era of this country? Not present.

There are no pictures or media accounts of Muslims walking side by side with Martin Luther King Jr. or helping to advance the cause of Civil Rights.

Where were Muslims during this country's Woman's Suffrage era? Again, not present. In fact, devout Muslims demand that women are subservient to men in the Islamic culture. So much so that often they are beaten for not wearing the 'hajib' or for talking to a man who is not a direct family member or their husband. Yep, the Muslims are all for women's rights aren't they?

Where were Muslims during World War II? They were aligned with Adolf Hitler. The Muslim grand mufti himself met with Adolf Hitler, reviewed the troops and accepted support from the Nazi's in killing Jews.

Finally, Mr. Obama, where were Muslims on Sept. 11th, 2001? If they weren't flying planes into the World Trade Center , the Pentagon or a field in Pennsylvania killing nearly 3,000 people on our own soil, they were rejoicing in the Middle East . No one can dispute the pictures shown from all parts of the Muslim world celebrating on CNN, Fox News, MSNBC and other cable news networks that day. Strangely, the very "moderate" Muslims who's asses you bent over backwards to kiss in Cairo , Egypt on June 4th were stone cold silent post 9-11. To many Americans, their silence has meant approval for the acts of that day.

And THAT, Mr. Obama, is the "rich heritage" Muslims have here in America .

Oh, I sorry, I forgot to mention the Barbary Pirates. They were Muslim.

And now we can add the Christmas Day underpants bomber and November 5, 2009-- the slaughter of American soldiers at Fort Hood by a Muslim major who is a doctor and a psychiatrist who was supposed to be counseling soldiers returning from battle in Iraq and Afghanistan .

That, Mr. Obama is the "Muslim heritage" in America ..

Pick a name - any name: Katy? Dianne? Other?

When action speaks louder than words.............

The National Post reported this morning that the Premier of Newfoundland & Labrador is coming the United States for needed heart surgery! Apparently, Premier Danny Williams feels more confident about having this scheduled surgery in our health service system than he does in the National Canadian Health Care System. He left for the U.S. this morning.

I reckon the natives and common folks in Newfoundland and Labrador can just take their chances locally with the national health service........... if they can get service at all.

Do you reckon if the triumvirate of Obamanation-Pelosi-Reid get their way and we convert to a National Obamacare System, that when those individuals have individual health problems, they'll be off to Switzerland or somewhere for treatment?

While us ordinary folks sit quietly in the clinic queues and die like responsible citizens!

ACORN: coming to an Illinois voting booth near you!!

ACORN: Coming to an Illinois Voting Booth Near You?

When ACORN was caught stacking voter rolls with fake names leading up to the 2008 election, we stood up and took notice. Maybe an aberration, maybe part of a plan to undermine our system of elections. On Election Day, Black Panthers were inside a Pennsylvania polling station intimidating voters. They ultimately got off and the prosecutor who went after them was “reassigned”. Still, maybe it is simply coincidence. What if a high-profile state Attorney General argued that voters have no right to vote in secret?

I’m not talking about Card Check, I’m talking about the voting all of us do in every election. Consider the following words argued in Champaign County Court in Illinois by the Illinois Attorney General’s office headed by Lisa Madigan:

While plaintiff attempts to suggest to the Court that there is a fundamental right to a secret ballot, no such right exists. (bottom of Page 11 of pleading)

The Attorney General’s office argues that the United States Constitution, nor any fundamental right, protect a voter from being able to vote in secret. In effect, this means that it is only out of mere courtesy that the government doesn’t simply sit in the voting booth with you making sure you are making “fully informed decisions”.

The words need no parsing, read them for yourself. Lisa Madigan is no outsider. She is the daughter of the immensely politically powerful House Speaker, Michael Madigan. Michael Madigan is also chair of the Democratic Party of Illinois. When Blagojevich became a liability (after he was arrested), Michael Madigan saw him run out of town on a rail. The Madigans are the political power family of Illinois.

If they’re pushing for something, you take it seriously. And they’re pushing to take away your right to a secret ballot in Illinois. The matter at hand was created by a seemingly innocuous piece of legislation passed in 2007. The bill, SB 662, clocked in at almost 200 pages. A few clauses require error checking of a ballot. If you didn’t vote in certain races on a ballot, the voting machine will reject your ballot. There are many legitimate reasons to undervote (decline to vote in a particular race), first and foremost, because it’s your ballot and you should be able to vote however you darn well please.

The law requires the machine to reject the ballot and an election judge to come down and talk to you. At first, they’ll ask you to vote in all the races or to destroy the ballot and go home. At the election judge’s ultimate discretion, they can “override” the machine and process the vote anyway. But if you don’t vote in a way the establishment likes, you have an election judge standing over you (and your ballot) talking to you about it.

Seems minor, but the Attorney General isn’t saying this interaction violates the secret ballot. The Attorney General argues you have no right to a secret ballot in the first place. This issue came to light because a reform-minded Republican candidate for Governor in Illinois stood up to the Chicago-machine Democrats. Senator “Dede Scozzafava” Dillard voted to pass the bill. Another was too busy to vote, Senator Brady. Yet another was working for a city government last year who put armed guards in a polling station themselves.

Technically, the regulations (not the law) require the election judge to not look at a voter’s ballot. Of course, there are no real penalties if they do. With Chicago’s storied history of voter fraud, that regulation is a bit like asking a teenage boy to go to a strip club but not look at any of the girls.

The one things separating the United States from the many banana republics of the world that does have “voting rights” is that our elections have secret ballots free of voter intimidation. This statement by the Illinois Attorney General taken to its conclusion would allow ACORN workers to “help” voters inside the voting booth to make sure they didn’t make mistakes. Or worse, Black Panthers could handle poll security.

As I have often said friends, be afraid, be very afraid and very alert!!!!
