The power of one honest voice in the crowd......

Over the years, most Presidents have given their major wartime speeches to a joint session of congress. After all, they directly represent the American people and they also control the Defense Budget!!

Why then, I asked myself, is the O'man going to West Point to give his speech tomorrow night instead of the Capital Building..?

Three Reasons, I answered myself:

1. It makes a better photo-op than the House Chamber, besides he's been there - done that.

2. It's fitting to make a war stra
tegy speech at the home of the US Army.

3. Joe Wilson, Rep from South Carolina won't be allowed in the hall to interrupt when O's nose grows!

Just my humble opinion, of course. I have not had it peer reviewed!

If you Pilgrims ain't scared yet by this Obamacare Health Program , you oughtta be!!

Here's one of the latest fact-finding comments from the Washington Examiner:

HHS would become federal giant under Senate plan

By: Susan Ferrechio
Chief Congressional Correspondent
November 26, 2009

A quick search of the Senate health bill will bring up "secretary" 2,500 times.

That's because Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius would be awarded unprecedented new powers under the proposal, including the authority to decide what medical care should be covered by insurers as well as the terms and conditions of coverage and who should receive it.

"The legislation lists 1,697 times where the secretary of health and humans services is given the authority to create, determine or define things in the bill," said Devon Herrick, a health care expert at the National Center for Policy Analysis.

For instance, on Page 122 of the 2,079-page bill, the secretary is given the power to establish "the basic per enrollee, per month cost, determined on average actuarial basis, for including coverage under a qualified health care plan."

The HHS secretary would also have the power to decide where abortion is allowed under a government-run plan, which has drawn opposition from Republicans and some moderate Democrats.

And the bill even empowers the department to establish a Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation that would have the authority to make cost-saving cuts without having to get the approval of Congress first.

"It's a huge amount of power being shifted to HHS, and much of it is highly discretionary," said Edmund Haislmaier, an expert in health care policy and insurance markets at the Heritage Foundation, a conservative think tank.

Haislmaier said one the greatest powers HHS would gain from the bill is the authority to regulate insurance. States currently hold this power, and under the Senate bill, the federal government would usurp it from them. This could lead to the federal government putting restrictions and changes in place that destabilize the private insurance market by forcing companies to lower premiums and other charges, he said.

"Health and Human Services ... doesn't have any experience with this," Haislmaier said. "I'm looking at the potential for this whole thing to just blow up on people because they have no idea what they are doing. Who in the federal government regulates insurance today? Nobody."

The health care reform legislation would rely on the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force for recommendations as to what kind of screening and preventive care should be covered. Last week, the group, which operates under HHS, drew sharp criticism for advising that mammograms should begin at age 50, a decade later than the current standard.

Critics of the bill said this was an example of how the new bill could empower HHS to alter health care delivery, but Democrats argue they would rather have the government making these decisions.

"There's an insurance company bureaucrat in between the patient and her doctor right now," Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, D-Fla., said on ABC's "This Week."

What Happens When a PI Dumpster Dives Behind a San Diego ACORN Office?
Doug Giles
Saturday, November 28, 2009

What happens when a PI dumpster dives behind a San Diego ACORN office?

He strikes the flippin’ mother lode! At least that’s what happened to private investigator Derrick Roach at the National City (San Diego) ACORN office. Yep, Roach scored big-time on the cockroaches of ACORN when he staked out their San Diego workplace.

According to seƱor Roach via BigGovernment.com, after the release of the San Diego ACORN sting videos—which my daughter Hannah, James O’Keefe, and Andrew Breitbart dropped on the Nation’s head—and following Governor Schwarzenegger’s call for a probe into this batty zoo, Roach took it upon himself to get busy and see if he could ferret out more funky filth from this nefarious gang.

And, as stated, Roach scored more than Dwayne Wade would playing hoops against blind five-year-old, one-legged narcoleptic midgets.

Going Rogue by Sarah Palin FREE

What did Papa Roach come across? Well, my children, it was stuff like …

• Information exposing the inner workings of ACORN in California.

• Sensitive personal information belonging to employees, members and ACORN clients, such as social security numbers, driver’s license numbers, immigration records, and tax returns.

• ACORN’s political agenda is also laid bare, with thousands upon thousands of documents revealing the depth of the political machine that is ACORN and its disturbing ties not only to public employee labor unions but some of the most radical leftist organizations in existence (I wonder which politicians we will discover are in cahoots with these goofy clowns?).

The timing of this 20k plus page paper plunk of sensitive and incriminating 411 is kinda interesting as well. Check it out:

• On October 1st, 2009 California Attorney General Jerry announced that he was going to do a little look-see inside ACORN’s hull to determine if their San Diego office was as innocent as Bertha Lewis, David Lagstein and the Mange Stream Media screamed them to be.

• “Coincidently,” just a few days prior to when AG Brown was slated to pay them a howdy-doo, low and behold, on October 9th ACORN San Diego decided to do a bit of midnight spring cleaning and dump all their docs in a public dumpster to spruce up the joint before the AG’s arrival.

• Unfortunately for poor ACORN, PI Derrick Roach was parked outside waiting for them to do something stupid like dump 20,000 plus pages of their corporate papyrus and their clients’ personal records in a trash bin behind their slim shady facilities.

By the way, are there laws governing how personal info like social security numbers, tax returns, driver’s license numbers and stuff like that should be handled? I’m thinking there would be. Hmmm, I don’t know. Maybe Media Matters will look into it; if there are laws demanding stringent care and disposal of sensitive info, it looks like ACORN, prima facia, could be in deep crap with a stack of folks for placing their private stories in a public dumpster.

I would now like to address you, Mr. Roach. Good job, old chap! As Hannah Giles’ father and one who has been on the receiving end of the ACORN/Mange Stream Media stick, please take my advice and brace for the vilifying crunch from these numb nuts.

They’re are going to hit you with retarded stuff like …

• How dare a conservative PI jump into a dumpster and steal trash?! It’s unethical.

• You’re not a legitimate trash man. You’ve never been to trash man school. • The trash did not give its consent to be removed from the dumpster.

California law requires garbage to give its go-ahead before it is embraced by another. • FOX News paid you 100 kadrillion dollar$ to dumpster dive.

• You tried this at thousands of other ACORN dumpsters and came up snake eyes.

• No other ACORN office would ever dispose of their clients’ records like this, except, of course, for that Oklahoma ACORN branch that left all their computers and crap on the curb after they got kicked out of their building for not paying the bills.

ACORN, naturally, is going into full damsel in distress mode, stating it was an accident and a coincidence that it occurred right before Brown and his boys were to perform their investigative colonoscopy into ACORN’s corrupt underbelly.

ACORN also blathered that Roach stole their trash. Stole your trash? Hey ACORN, once you place your clients’ sensitive info and your political playbook into le garbage it is public domain. Every hooker running a whorehouse with underage sex slaves knows that.

Lastly, will the little darlings on the left report this? Will Eric Holder call for a brutal investigation into the ACORNucopia of corruption of which BigGov and some citizen soldiers have uncovered? Garsh … who knows! I guess we poor little serf’s of Obamaland will just have to wait and see.

You can run, but unfortunately, you can't hide from Big Goverment, it follows you everywhere!!

Some Thanksgiving Thoughts from this Pilgrim to all the rest....

The current (temporary I hope) occupant has declared that this great Country of ours in NOT a Judeo-Christian Country. Rather than throwing my weak words at him, I would suggest he read the following proclamation issued by the first President of the U.S.A in 1779 creating the first Thanksgiving Day for our brand new Nation:

"Whereas it is the duty of all Nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey his will, to be grateful for his benefits, and humbly to implore his protection and favor, and whereas both Houses of Congress have by their joint Committee requested me "to recommend to the People of the United States a day of public thanksgiving and prayer to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many signal favors of Almighty God especially by affording them an opportunity peaceably to establish a form of government for their safety and happiness.

Now therefore I do recommend and assign Thursday the 26th day of November next to be devoted by the People of these States to the service of that great and glorious Being, who is the beneficent Author of all the good that was, that is, or that will be. That we may then all unite in rendering unto him our sincere and humble thanks, for his kind care and protection of the People of this Country previous to their becoming a Nation, for the signal and manifold mercies, and the favorable interpositions of his providence, which we experienced in the course and conclusion of the late war, for the great degree of tranquility, union, and plenty, which we have since enjoyed, for the peaceable and rational manner, in which we have been enabled to establish constitutions of government for our safety and happiness, and particularly the national One now lately instituted, for the civil and religious liberty with which we are blessed; and the means we have of acquiring and diffusing useful knowledge; and in general for all the great and various favors which he hath been pleased to confer upon us.

And also that we may then unite in most humbly offering our prayers and supplications to the great Lord and Ruler of Nations and beseech him to pardon our national and other transgressions, to enable us all, whether in public or private stations, to perform our several and relative duties properly and punctually, to render our national government a blessing to all the people, by constantly being a Government of wise, just, and constitutional laws, discreetly and faithfully executed and obeyed, to protect and guide all Sovereigns and Nations (especially such as have shown kindness unto us) and to bless them with good government, peace, and concord. To promote the knowledge and practice of true religion and virtue, and the encrease of science among them and Us, and generally to grant unto all Mankind such a degree of temporal prosperity as he alone knows to be best.

Given under my hand at the City of New York the third day of October in the year of our Lord 1789."

George Washington,
President, United States of America

If I had highlighted every reference to God, this would have been a one sentence announcement. The Blue state elitists would scorn this proclamation, disavow any such references in a public speech, and claim that it would offend non-Christians! That my friends, is a barrel of bovine excrement!

Happy Thanksgiving Pilgrims, and may the Good Lord Look Over Us all for the next three years! Please!!!!

We can hear the Piper coming down the road......

I am speaking of the Piper this Nation is gonna have to pay after floating all this worthless paper this last year....... long after Obamanation and his cronies have left the White House and are living 'la dolce vita' in their revolving door board rooms, and writing memoirs.... our Grand kids are gonna be picking up the tab!

To be more specific, it's been projected that (even without some humongous health care bills added) the annual debt service on our National Debt will exceed $700 BILLION DOLLARS before 2020! That is $700,000,000,000 American Dollars!

We are currently paying $200 Billion Dollars per year just to service our debt --- that additional $500 Billion Dollars is more than 'the combined federal budgets this year for Education, Homeland Security, Energy, and both of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan'!!!

Please read that last sentence again. And again.....! Don't even ask how they are going to be able to pay all the other federal mandated obligations ..... you don't dare ask!

Or better still, do ask! Write or e-mail your congressmen and senators today and ask them to answer this question before they vote on Cap & Trade and National Health Care!!!! And another Porkulus Bill...

"All politics is local", used to be one of Speaker Tip O'Neill's favorite sayings

And that may well be true........ but apparently 'All sports is local' is a misnomer. I'm hearing that the detainees (whatever the hell that PC word means) in the internment camp in Iraq are harassing their American guards by teasing about Bret Favre's jump to the Minnesota Vikings.

Obviously any die hard Packer's fans are not thrilled with his career move - and the prisoners picked up on it. Apparently they picked up on the word 'shenanigans' as well, and now enjoy shouting out to the Wisconsin National Guardsmen in Camp Cropper, Iraq, about "Bret Farve's shenanigans.... he is so good for the Vikings".

According MyFox reports, the soldiers are grinning (grimacing?) and bearing it!!

Awake Mushrooms!! And look around...

There was a time when the Main Stream Media (MSM) treated us like mushrooms. I'm talking Walter Cronkite, Dan Rather, Jennings, Brokaw and the rest......... keep us in the basement, cover us with bullshit...... and hope we'll sprout on election day.........

Thank God (and Gore?) for the Internet..... now the bullshit becomes the Main Stream Media!! Have any of you heard on this evening news that the Fort Hood shooter, Major Nidal Hasan was on Obamanation's 'Homeland Security Transitional Team"?

I didn't think so! But go to this site, page 29 and halfway down the left hand column.......oops! Guess who?
Now I ain't saying that this kind of kook couldn't fit in almost everywhere --- but I am asking, how how come it is --- that on DAY TWO, the Obamanation Team didn't own up to this fact! It ain't like it's gonna stay hidden.

And more important, how come the MSM ain't trumpeting it? Imagine how loud the noise would be if it was a Bush transition hireling"

Compared to Nixon's two bit burglary, LBJ's scandals, or even JFK's back door whoring -- this is big news.... course I haven't seen it on the national networks yet... duh,.... big surprise!
C'mon Pilgrims, pick up those phones and let your voices ring out!!!

Pilgrims, if Stossel's column doesn't make you mad -- you are already dead.....!

Worse Than Taxes
John Stossel Wednesday, November 18, 2009

Bill O'Reilly is mad at me because I'm not mad enough about taxes.

Last week on "The O'Reilly Factor", we talked about California's and New York's enormous budget deficits and planned tax increases. Those states would have big surpluses had they just grown their governments in pace with inflation. But of course they didn't. Now the politicians act like their current deficits are something imposed on them by the recession.

But that's nonsense. They created the problem with their reckless spending. Let's look at the particulars. Had the government of New York state grown at the rate of population and inflation over the past 10 years, it would have a $14 billion surplus today. Instead, spending grew at twice the rate of inflation (http://tinyurl.com/yguvfpm). So New York has a $3 billion deficit.

To dent California's deficit, bureaucrats will withhold an extra 10 percent from every taxpayer -- at least from those who don't flee the state. New York planned to raise the price of new license plates, but then backed off. The visible tax was unpopular. But the hidden taxes grow.

Hidden taxes are more pernicious because they disguise what we pay for government. We blame merchants, not our legislators, for the high price of gasoline, liquor, cigarettes and phone calls, but the money goes to the political thieves.

New York imposes a gas tax of 61 cents a gallon -- almost a quarter of the cost of the gas. New York City taxes cigarettes at $4.25 a pack. Washington state collects $26 per gallon of hard liquor. Illinois politicians take a sneaky cut when you buy junk food: They add 6.25 percent to the cost of soda and candy.

My phone bill lists seven different taxes -- unintelligible stuff like a "Public Safety Commission Surcharge" and an "MCTD tax." The payroll tax is one of the biggest hidden taxes. You assume that you know what you pay because it's listed on your paycheck, but that's actually only half of it. Employers must pay an equal amount -- money that otherwise would have been part your salary.

O'Reilly was most indignant about the visible taxes. "You, Stossel, are going to be paying 45 percent of your money to the government!" he said. I replied that I already pay more than that, since I live in New York City. But I apparently was not indignant enough, because later in his show he told comedian Dennis Miller, "Stossel doesn't get it." O'Reilly is right about my not being furious. It's not that taxes don't anger me. They do. But I'm more angry about the arrogance of the ruling class. It reminds me of Walter Williams' riff: "Politicians are worse than thieves. At least when thieves take your money, they don't expect you to thank them for it."

Taxes, even counting hidden taxes, are not the real measure of what the thieves take. The true burden of government, the late Milton Friedman said, is the spending level. Taxation is just one way government gets money. The other ways -- borrowing and inflation -- are equally burdens on the people. (State governments can't inflate, but they sure can borrow.)

O'Reilly told me that America is ready for a tax revolt. I hope he's right. But I don't think it will happen until more people see the ruling elite for what it is: a gang of arrogant bullies that has the audacity to believe that they know how to direct our lives better than we do.

That's why, bad as the taxes are, I'm more upset about ObamaCare, Medicare, the "stimulus," the auto bailout, the bank bailouts, the Fannie/Freddie bailouts, the trillions in guarantees, and on and on.

The politicians' spending schemes represent presumptuous interference in our lives. They are an assault on our autonomy.

Be careful out there this Thanksgiving.. I just learned how Pumpkin Pies are made....

There are clever folks, and there are artistic folks, and there are clever, artistic folks that think 'outside the box'!!! I reckon this was done by one of those folks!

The bad news just gets worse, day by day......

(When I made the personal decision to quit bashing 'O' on a daily basis, I did not handcuff myself to not just comment on events of the day --- so this ain't bashing, it's commenting....)

I'm beginning to think that the 'O' man is going to be a poster boy for that old axiom, "Be sure to make a lot of friends on your way to the top, 'cause you may need 'em on that slippery slope back down!" It would appear that the halo on our world esteemed POTUS is beginning to tarnish just a tad.

I pulled up the news this morning and see:

- China. as holder of $2 TRILLION of America's debt paper, questions Obama's push for national health care which will double the national deficit for the next ten years.....

- Der Spiegel (THE magazine in Europe) outright accuses 'O of LYING in his historic speech in Germany when he promised to push for the new restrictions on emissions and US paying for 3rd world countries to convert ---- after he agreed with China this weekend, that the Copenhagen conference was 'too soon' for such an agreement!

- Today's NY Daily News headlines "The worst is yet to come: Unemployed Americans should hunker down for more losses. Announces another 200,000 jobs lost last month adding to the 10.2% official jobless rate and the full rate "is a whopping 17.5%"!!!

These kinds of headlines can take all the fun out of that 71 car caravan that swept him from Air Force One into Beijing yesterday..... even those 'date nights' in NY with FLOTUS.

All I can think is that if whoever is behind him is purposely trying to destruct this country economically, than it's working. But if this is just honest, blinder eyed tunnel vision on the "O"s part - tying everything to the national health care issue --- he is not as bright as I once thought he was...

If 2009 was a doozy, what does 2010 hold in store... ?

Justice is sometimes less than golden......

Susette Kelo became nationally famous when she refused to let the city of New Haven Connecticut take her house in imprudent act of Eminant Domain to turn it over to developers. She fought all the way to the Supreme Court, where surprisingly she lost. She ended up moving her house, her neighbor's houses were all torn down to make way for a tax producing Pfizer enterprise. Surpise - no enterprise!!!!

Abuse of Eminent Domain Results in Nothing But Vacant Lots

The Famous ‘Kelo House’ Property Is Now A Vacant Lot

What you are looking at above is a monument to government folly.

It is the vacant lot where the home of Susette Kelo once stood.

A decade ago, the town of New London, Connecticut claimed Kelo’s house by right of eminent domain. The plan was to demolish the residential neighborhood so that Pfizer could built a massive research and development plant on the adjacent land. Pfizer got the land for next to nothing. Five Supreme Court justices upheld the taking, ruling that although the primary beneficiary was a corporation, it met the constitutional requirement of “public use.”

Now Pfizer has announced that it is shutting down the plant.

Dem dim dawgs ...... doubting!!!!

Remember when 'fixing' school grades was illegal??

Not any more apparently! A middle school principal decided that her school didn't raise enough money last year selling chocolate bars --- so this year....... she is selling extra points on test scores. Here is their price list:

Rosewood Middle School price list

A $20 donation buys 10-point credits to be used on two tests of the student's choice.

A $30 donation buys the test points and admission to a 5th-period dance.

A $60 donation buys students test points, the dance invitation, and a "special 30-minute lunch period with pizza, drink and the choice to invite one friend to join them."

Photo ops with Rosewood principal Susie Shepherd, the vice principal, and a home room teacher go for $75. The photos will be posted on a school bulletin board and on the school's Web site.

Of course, this is the same Goldsboro, NC school that counted 25% of a Social Studies grade against the students bringing in kleenex and hand sanitizer................ For the rest of the story, go to:

Veterans Day, November 11th, Honoring all Vets, living and dead.....

In Flanders Fields

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly.
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved, and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

I knew it, HOT DAMN!! I knew it!!!

When Obamanation came trotting out into the press room to name drop the AMA and the AARP as new endorsers of the Obamanationalrationed Health Care Bill - I just knew their was some chicanery involved... here's the story behind the story from 'thehill.com' and Dick Morris et al:

ObamaCare endorsements: What the bribe was

By Dick Morris - 11/06/09 11:22 AM ET

By Dick Morris and Eileen McGann

As the suicidal Democratic congressmen proceed to rubber-stamp the Obama healthcare reform despite the drubbing their party took in the ’09 elections, the president trotted out the endorsements of the AMA and the AARP to stimulate support. But these — and the other endorsements — his package has received are all bought and paid for. Here are the deals:

· The American Medical Association (AMA) was facing a 21 percent cut in physicians’ reimbursements under the current law. Obama promised to kill the cut if they backed his bill. The cuts are the fruit of a law requiring annual 5-6 percent reductions in doctor reimbursements for treating Medicare patients. Bravely, each year Congress has rolled the cuts over, suspending them but not repealing them. So each year, the accumulated cuts threaten doctors. By now, they have risen to 21 percent. With this blackmail leverage, Obama compelled the AMA to support his bill … or else!

· The AARP got a financial windfall in return for its support of the healthcare bill. Over the past decade, the AARP has morphed from an advocacy group to an insurance company (through its subsidiary company). It is one of the main suppliers of Medi-gap insurance, a high-cost, privately purchased coverage that picks up where Medicare leaves off. But President Bush-43 passed the Medicare Advantage program, which offered a subsidized, lower-cost alternative to Medi-gap. Under Medicare Advantage, the elderly get all the extra coverage they need plus coordinated, well-managed care, usually by the same physician. So more than 10 million seniors went with Medicare Advantage, cutting into AARP Medi-gap revenues.

Presto! Obama solved their problem. He eliminates subsidies for Medicare Advantage. The elderly will have to pay more for coverage under Medigap, but the AARP — which supposedly represents them — will make more money. (If this galls you, join the American Seniors Association, the alternative group; contact \n This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it "> sbarton@americanseniors.org This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .)

· The drug industry backed ObamaCare and, in return, got a 10-year limit of $80 billion on cuts in prescription drug costs. (A drop in the bucket of their almost $3 trillion projected cost over the next decade.) They also got administration assurances that it will continue to bar lower-cost Canadian drugs from coming into the U.S. All it had to do was put its formidable advertising budget at the disposal of the administration.

· Insurance companies got access to 40 million potential new customers. But when the Senate Finance Committee lowered the fine that would be imposed on those who don’t buy insurance from $3,500 to $1,500, the insurance companies jumped ship and now oppose the bill, albeit for the worst of motives.

The only industry that refused to knuckle under was the medical device makers. They stood for principle and wouldn’t go along with Obama’s blackmail. So the Senate Finance Committee retaliated by imposing a tax on medical devices such as automated wheelchairs, pacemakers, arterial stents, prosthetic limbs, artificial knees and hips and other necessary accoutrements of healthcare.

So these endorsements are not freely given, but bought and paid for by an administration that is intent on passing its program at any cost.

This is called OBAMA-TRANSPARENCY!! He deals so crookedly, so out in the open, that everybody has their eye on the wrong Pea and the wrong Shell, just like he learned on the streets of Chicago!!!!!

I hope all you AARP members, do like I did and tell them where to stick their membership renewal forms!! And go check out "60plus.org" !!!!!

ELECTION 2009: CHANGE I CAN BELIEVE IN!

by Ann Coulter
November 4, 2009

-- MSNBC, Aug. 31, 2009, Keith Olbermann on Robert F. McDonnell, Republican candidate for governor of Virginia:

"In [McDonnell's master's thesis], he described women having jobs as detrimental to the family, called legalized use of contraception illogical, pushed to make divorce more difficult, and insisted government should favor married couples over, quote, 'cohabitators, homosexuals or fornicators.' Wow. When did he write this? 1875? No, 1989. Wow, 1989.

"Goodbye, Mr. McDonnell."

-- MSNBC, Sept. 22, 2009, Rachel Maddow also on McDonnell:

"And here's where the conservative movement and the Republican establishment smash into each other like bumper cars without bumpers. Here's where Republican electoral chances stop being separate from the wild-eyed excesses of the conservative movement.

"Part of watching Republicans try to return to power is watching ... the conservative movement eat the Republican Party, eat their electoral chances over and over and over again."

On election night, conservatives-eating-Republicans resulted in an 18-point landslide for McDonnell, who beat his Democratic opponent 59 percent to 41 percent -- winning two-thirds of all independent voters and ending the Democrats' eight-year reign in the Virginia governor's office.

Republicans swept all statewide offices for the first time in 12 years, winning the races for lieutenant governor and attorney general, as well as assembly seats, garbage inspector, dog catcher and anything else Virginians could vote for.

To paraphrase a pompous blowhard: Goodbye, Mr. Democrat.

And that's not the most exciting news from election night! Astoundingly, Jon Corzine, the incumbent governor of heavily Democratic New Jersey -- a state that Barack Obama won by 16 points just a year ago -- lost by 5 points.

At 49 percent for Republican Chris Christie versus 44 percent for Corzine, the election wasn't even close enough to be stolen by ACORN. (Although Corzine did extremely well among underaged Salvadoran prostitutes living in government housing.)

The biggest winner election night was pollster Scott Rasmussen, who -- once again -- produced the most accurate poll results. New York Times poll: Corzine 40, Christie 37; Quinnipiac poll: Corzine 43, Christie 38; Rasmussen poll: Christie 46, Corzine 43.

The biggest loser was President Obama, who campaigned tirelessly for Corzine, even giving up golf on several occasions and skipping a quarter-million-dollar "date night" with Michelle to stump for the Democrat.

Just two days before the election, Obama was at a rally in New Jersey assuring voters that Corzine was "one of the best partners I have in the White House. We work together. ... Jon Corzine helped get this done."

Except the problem is that voting for Obama a year ago was a fashion statement, much like it was once a fad to buy Beanie Babies, pet rocks and Cabbage Patch Kids. But instead of ending up with a ridiculous dust-collector at the bottom of your closet, the Obama fad leaves you with higher taxes, a reduced retirement fund, no job and a one-year wait for an MRI.

That is why Corzine's defeat sounded the death knell for national health care.

The good news: Next time Corzine is in a major car accident after speeding on the New Jersey Turnpike, he'll be able to see a doctor right away.

The media will try to rescue health care by talking about nothing but the 23rd district of New York, where the Democrat won Tuesday night. Congratulations, Democrats -- you won a congressional seat in New York! Next up: A Catholic elected pope!

Far from an upset, the Democrats' winning the 23rd district was a long-term plan of the Obama White House. That's why Obama made John McHugh, the moderate Republican congressman representing the 23rd district, his Secretary of the Army earlier this year. The Democrats thought McHugh's seat would be easy pickings.

Only in the last week has everyone acted as if a Democratic victory in the 23rd district would be a shocking surprise -- an upset victory caused by puritanical Republicans staging inquisitions against "mainstream" Republican candidates like Dede Scozzafava, the designated "Republican" candidate in the special election.

This is preposterous -- there was absolutely nothing Republican about Scozzafava. As a supporter of partial-birth abortion, card-check union schemes and massive government spending programs, she was less Republican than John McCain.

Even Markos Moulitsas of Daily Kos called Scozzafava the most liberal candidate in the race -- which may explain why she was the choice of George Soros' Working Families Party and why she promptly endorsed the Democrat after withdrawing from the race last weekend.

Conservative opposition to Scozzafava hardly suggests that they plan to impose litmus tests on every Republican candidate in the 2010 elections.

Speaking of litmus tests, on MSNBC recently, liberal blogger Jane Hamsher said of the possibility that a blue dog Democrat would oppose national health care: "I dare Blanche Lincoln -- I dare Blanche Lincoln to join a filibuster. She'll draw primary opponents so fast it would make your head spin."

While I'm sure an out-of-touch liberal blogger from Hollywood knows more about Arkansas than an elected senator from that state, Hamsher's threat sounds more like an intra-party civil war than conservatives opposing a George Soros-supported Republican candidate in a New York congressional race.

Not only do conservatives not pick insane fights -- such as staging a 2006 primary fight against a recent vice presidential candidate because he supported the war in Iraq -- but conservatives are more popular than Republicans.

By contrast, liberals are less popular than Democrats. When conservatives take control of the Republican Party, Republicans win. When liberals take control of the Democratic Party, Democrats end up out of power for eight to 12 years.

You go Gal!!!!

Some folks just never get it.............

John Stossel has always been a 'friendly' investigative reporter....

Even when bringing down the worst of crooks, bad businessmen and scammers - he did it with a smile and a shrug........ kind of a 'buyer beware' grimace. Here is his very accurate column today in TownHall.com:

The Double Standard About Journalists' Bias

John Stossel
Wednesday, November 04, 2009

I made The New York Times last week. It even ran my picture. My mother would be proud.

Unfortunately, the story was critical. It said, "Critics have leaped on Mr. Stossel's speaking engagements as the latest evidence of conservative bias on the part of Fox."

Which "critics" had "leaped"? The reporter mentioned Rachel Maddow. I wouldn't think her criticism newsworthy, but Times reporters may use MSNBC as their guide to life. He also quoted an "associate professor of journalism" who said my speeches were "'pretty shameful' by traditional journalistic standards." All this because I spoke at an event for Americans for Prosperity (AFP), a "conservative advocacy group."

It is odd that this is a news story. In August, AFP hired me to do the very same thing. I give the money to charity. The Times didn't call that "shameful."

But in August, I worked for ABC News. Now, I work for Fox. Hmmm.

It reminds me of something that happened earlier in my career.

I was one of America's first TV consumer reporters. I approached the job with an attitude. If companies ripped people off, I would embarrass them on TV -- and demand that government do something. (I now regret the latter -- the former was a good thing.)

I clearly had a point of view: I was a crusader out to punish corporate bullies. My colleagues liked it. I got job offers. I won 19 Emmys. I was invited to speak at journalism conferences.

Then, gradually, I figured out that business, for the most part, treats consumers pretty well. The way to get rich in business is to create something good, sell it for a reasonable price, acquire a reputation for honesty and keep pleasing customers so they come back for more.

As a local TV reporter, I could find plenty of crooks. But once I got to the national stage -- "20/20" and "Good Morning America" -- it was hard to find comparable national scams. There were some: Enron, Bernie Madoff, etc. But they are rare. In a $14 trillion economy, you'd think there'd be more. But there aren't.

I figured out why: Market forces, even when hampered by government, keep scammers in check. Reputation matters. Word gets out. Good companies thrive, and bad ones atrophy. Regulation barely deters the cheaters, but competition does.

It made me want to learn more about free markets. I subscribed to Reason magazine and read Cato Institute research papers. Then Milton Friedman, Friedrich Hayek and Aaron Wildavsky.

My reporting changed. I started taking skeptical looks at government -- especially regulation. I did an ABC TV special, "Are We Scaring You to Death?" that said we TV reporters often make hysterical claims about chemicals, pollution and other relatively minor risks. Its good ratings -- 16 million viewers -- surprised my colleagues.

Suddenly, I wasn't so popular with them.

I stopped winning Emmys.

I was invited on CNN's media program, "Reliable Sources," to be interviewed by The Washington Post's Howard Kurtz and an indignant Bernard Kalb. They titled the segment, "Objectivity and Journalism: Does John Stossel Practice Either?" It was in big letters over my head.

Apparently, I had broken the rules.

On the air they told me that I was no longer objective. I was too stunned to defend myself effectively. I said something like: "I've always had a point of view. How come you had no trouble with that when I criticized business?"

In hindsight, I wish I'd said: "Look at the title on the wall, you hypocrites! It shows you have a point of view, too. Many reporters do. You just don't like my arguments now that I no longer hew to your statist line. So you want to shut me up."

But I didn't.

So I'll say it now: Reporters who think coercive government control is generally good and I, who thinks voluntary market forces are generally better, both have a point of view.

So why am I the one called biased?

I like what "Americans for Prosperity" defends. I'm an American, and I'm for prosperity. What creates prosperity is free and competitive markets. That means limited government.

And I will speak about that every chance I get.

More on Skuzzy Scozzy of New York!

There has been so much printed about the NY 23rd District race with a Dem. a RINO and a conservative running that I thought I'd leave it alone. But........

This breaking story is just being reported on the conservative blogs, and I'm sure we'll hear more ... this is just a heads up!

UPDATE - Astonishingly, the Republican nominee in the special election has dropped out, and endorsed the Democrat! Just hours before she endorsed the Democrat, she received calls from Barack Obama's chief of staff Rahm Emanuel. She also received calls from the Chairman of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, Senator Chuck Schumer. Was Scozzafava promised something in return for her endorsement of the Democrat? Time will tell.

With this kind of payback thank you for the RNC spending $900,000 on her campaign, I wonder if like her predecessor, Benedict Arnold, she'll try her escape on a sloop down the Hudson River......

Here is a picture that is worth $12 Trillion Deficit Dollars.....
