"Tell the governor he just lost my vote."

Here is the background 'rest of the story':
Christopher Scott Emmett died by lethal injection in Virginia at 9:07 PM EST Thursday. Emmett had earlier challenged the constitutionality of the lethal injection protocol used in Virginia saying the method was cruel and unusual punishment.
Emmett was convicted of beating a co-worker to death for drug money in 2001. He dropped all of his pending appeals after the 4th US Circuit Court of Appeals ruled against a full hearing, ruling the method of execution constitutional.
While in the injection chamber awaiting execution, Emmett said, "Tell my family and friends I love them, tell the governor he just lost my vote. Y'all hurry this along, I'm dying to get out of here." The execution appeared to go as planned.
